Zlatan Ibrahimovic

I was just being flippant, though I am sure they would make it work in fantasy land!

They are looking good for fourth now after the recent Roma result.

Hopefully, the likes of Mutu don't go anywhere in the summer either. Wolfsburg is the latest rumour.

If Fiorentina get the fourth place, all their big players will stay and the board will strenghten the team IMO. I think this year they should have got more than 3 points in their CL group, they threw away their 1st game in Lyon and were unlucky in both games vs Steaua. Their poor campaign was mostly due to the lack of experience in Europe of some elements. Assuming that Mutu leaves, they have a brilliant sporting director like Pantaleo Corvino who is excellent in finding new talents, so the Romanian will be replaced by another good player.

Genoa are just one point behind them, I like the playing style of either team but I hoping that Genoa won't qualify to the CL so it will be easier to sign Diego Milito and realistically I don't think they would be able to get past the group stage since they haven't played in Europe for 16 years, so it would be a too big comeback for them.

I agree with the lack of European experience thing. It was evident in the UEFA cup tie with Ajax as well; they were the better team over both legs and deserved to go through. They just did not take their chances or make the correct tactical adjustments at times etc. As you say, they should be able to hold on to most of the players anyway even if he does go as the likes of Gilardino and Montolivio have said they wish to do so. I am starting to wonder how long it will take for the latter to gain any consistency though, he has been mostly hit and miss in recent times for me.

I know the gap is still small but I just get the feeling they will pull it off. Hopefully you guys finish things off soon and Milan would have also cemented second by the last game of the season. Maybe it will lead to Milan taking their foot off the gas a little.

Do you think both Hamsik and Milito will be playing for you next year?

Is he related to Zlatan Muslimovic?

I can't say for sure but i'd imagine not, they are both of bosnian decent hence the Zlatan name and the imovic ending of the sirname. I think that is where it ends and they are of no actual relation. I couldnt say for sure but i can't see it. They have a few things in common and nothing more as far as i am aware.

Is he related to Zlatan Muslimovic?

They played together on youth international level. A small interview with Ibrahimovic where he said "we would play like magic together", things like any player say just to be kind, turned into a media war with the fans involved calling for the head of the national manager if he didn't include Muslimovic in the national squad to "secure" him as a swedish player as would be the case if he played. The following week he started for Bosnia, the fans got furious. Today he's where? malta????

Edit, they are not related.

Sealed the win of the Seria A scoring league with this beauty.

To all posters who are about to reply with cries of "overrated": you are all boring, boring people. I absolutely LOVE seeing this sort of thing, and Zlatan provides more of these moments than almost anybody.

Nothing special, he was off balance and he showed a nice bit of ingenuity.

What is that accent?

Sounds like a mix between Australian and Scottish to me.

It was bizarre.

The thing about Zlatan is that he is so big (and strong). He seems to have a lot of time on the ball because one defender can't get near him. Very dangerous if you give him time and space though and no denying his ability.

I think he'd be marginalised by English defences and the multiple man-marking systems employed if he played for, say, Chelsea.

Drogba is the perfect - bar attitude - English centre forward in my opinion.

I'd say Interista will take offence to that AttackingFlair, and you'd need to watch them very regularly to make that sort of comment.

Yep, Drogba's definitely the best when he's on form and in the right state of mind.

I think you're a bit harsh on Ibrahimovic though, he creates space for himself very well and makes very good use of his physique, I think he'd cope very well in this league and would just get even better at a team like Chelsea.

He's so well rounded I think he could be a success in pretty much any top team in Europe, in my opinion.

I don't watch enough of him to be honest, but what strikes me most, in contrast to his appearances against English clubs, is that he has a lot more time on the ball.

The bloke is a feckin' genius with the ball at his feet, but i don't think that any player - bar Messi/Iniesta - can play with 2/3 men on them when they have the ball. That's where acceleration and agility come into their own.

In a star-studded line-up he is bound to get more time though - you couldn't apply the same pressure without letting another player through. At Inter, however, it is slightly predictable, which probably reasons with what i am saying regarding the Champions League (English defending).

I'd love to see something you rate as special.

Special's probably not the right word. It is fairly unique, and not many others would try it, but I'd much rather see a striker from outside the box like Carrick's against Wigan than a backheel from 6 yards out.

it's just quick thinking.

It was special when Tevez did it. For about 3 days, then the sign tevez threads died and everyone decided he was shit.

The guy is built for the PL.He would do wonders

Sure would. Still wouldnt manage to score in the last 16 of the champions league though.

So he's a bit like Drogba next season. A brilliant asset in the league, but useless in europe.

First Swede to top the goal scorers' list in Serie A for 50 years, last was Gunnar Nordahl.

Since when have Drogba been useless in Europe.

Zlatan was good against us at Old Trafford this season and was unlucky not to score. I'm sure that he would perform better in Europe if he played for a team who play the sort of football that suits him more.

Happy that he became the serie A top scorer, he was simply extraordinary this season. Yesterday he once again claimed that he wants to leave Inter, the Sky journalist asked him what he thinks about the partnership with Milito (who scored 24 goals this season) and he said : "I don't know, we'll see if we'll play together or there'll be just one of us upfront". Realistically, just 4 clubs could sign him : Manchester United (but you're not interested), Chelsea (Ancelotti has always been a big suitor of the player), Real Madrid (who looks more interested in signing Maicon though) and Barcelona (probably the player's favourite destination).

Well said. If you can't enjoy a player like Zlatan because he's a bit of a cnut off the pitch, then I feel sorry for you.

Talking about Ibrahimovich I found this on discount yesterday and bought it:

Pretty cool.

60% discount. Plus I like the white Inter shirt, and it included the printed name of a player I like and respect. Nothing wrong with it. If I were a fanboy I would have like 200 posts in this thread and in the transfer forum thread.

Nothing wrong having shirts from other clubs and/or players you like.

feck are you guys in your period or what?
