Indeed, been saying it a lot. Pogba is probably a pipe dream and probably Koke as well. Saul i think could be a good fit. Kanté might be able to be instructed to make more forward runs, especially if we play 4-3-3 with a DM behind. But, yeah, otherwise Herrera, Rooney and maybe Schneiderlin can do it. Don't think further investment in CM is key for Zlatan to perform, he'd perform with our current team, but it would certainly help. Personally think RW and CB are the most important positions for us to strengthen in now.

I'm not sure. I'd say Pogba, Saul and even Rooney tend to gravitate towards the ball as more of a playmaker than anything else. They like to be involved in the build up, dictate play and pick precise moments to make forward movements. Kante is far better off the ball than on it, but more so on the defensive side. He'd be great in a two man midfield though as he has the energy and is probably closest to Matuidi in that regard. Herrera has excellent movement off the ball, I expect him to thrive next season if he gets games, but I worry that he doesn't have enough steel for a Mourinho team. Really hope Schneiderlin can improve, I think he could thrive under Jose.

??

For some reason I can't stop thinking of this:

"Can you confirm if there's been an offer from Manchester United?"

If it's between United and Spurs, I don't think I'd worry

Okay they have CL football next season, but is he really going to reject playing at Old Trafford in front of 75000+ with Mourinho as manager for a club he believes are going to reach the top again in order to play in the CL for a couple months with Spurs¿

Spurs might be currently in better shape, but I still can't take them seriously. There's no way we lose out on any player to them.

That's a load of shite. Skybet and most other bookies cap these transfer markets at seriously low stakes.

Well Skybet aren't offering odds on it anymore. They obviously only base the market on where the money goes but they're clearly reacting to today's activities.

The Spurs thing has surely been thrown into the mix by his agent so he can get a better deal for him. Page 1 of the sports agent handbook, that.

Why do they bother doing that though ? With respect, if that's obvious to you do you not think it's obvious to the astute money men running United ?

*Not saying they know anything, just thought it's worth mentioning

Just saw his interview on Sky Sports. I think it is a certainty that he is coming over here.

Add a couple of wingers and CM and a CB now.

Zlatan finally gets a chance to play for a super big club again. His last attempt was Barca.. so he'll be itching to make this work.

Ofcourse they know some inside info, it is logical just because they have to be one step ahead. If Ibra is official done deal in the next days they have to be prepared already with some stock of his shirts for example. But it is questionable in that case, probably the worker in megastore is just big muppet like we are.

Relatively new to silly season here, but has the caf ever been so certain of a transfer before? What will it be like if he doesn't come?!

I'm not certain this is happening at all yet. I was utterly convinced Thiago Alcantara was going to sign for us and got burned :(

Having said that this does seem likely.

What would you have said if at the start of 2015 somebody told you in 18 months we "could potentially" have Mourinho as manager, Schweinsteiger in midfield and Zlatan up front ?

That wouldn't work though. For obvious reasons.

Agent: We want £260k per week for Zlatan because Spurs have offered him £250k per week. Are you prepared to beat that offer.

United: No they haven't.

Agent: Haven't what?

United: Spurs haven't offered you that sort of money. Be serious please.

Agent: Yes they have, how would you know they haven't?

United: Because it's fecking Spurs, their highest paid player is on about £50k per week. No chance they are offering anyone that sort of money.

Agent: Oh did i say Spurs? I meant Chelsea...

Beardsley knocked him out wearing mitts, Zlatan will turn him to pollen with one of those kicks.

I knew about Bardsley but old Pete knocked Rooney out as well? Not bad for a small guy in his 50's ;).

Love it accept the past it Schweinsteiger.

Ibra is top class. But if still like to go after Lukaku as well.

At the beginning of the season going after Lukaku made sense but not after Rashford has emerged.
Maybe. But Rashford is too young to take that pressure and Ibra is only a one year solution.

In any case we still need another quality striker after Rashford and when Ibra retires.

Rashford could also get time on the RW during this phase.

I think the certainty comes from the Mourinho factor. When Mourinho is in charge I believe we can get any player in the world. Opposed to say Moyes for example, for whom even Zlatans dog would never have signed.

Isn’t that exactly what Moyes signed?
