Feel like I'm reading way too much into this but no way Van Gaal would even offer this if it was him in charge. Surely there have been assurances of Mourinho.

This is Bouhafsi as well, the most reliable source.

You're absolutely right. I don't think he'd play under Van Gaal again - they just don't like each other. When Sky reported our interest in him, they said he'd only sign for us if Mourinho comes in as well. It's a big hint towards a potential Mourinho arrival, IMO.

People bringing up his age as a problem is a weird one esp. as he just had his best season ever. He's not on his way down yet or maybe some on here has seen him be shite this season?

Mourinhi+Ibra is happening I reckon.

Hopefully we get enough pace added to the squad as well. If we do, his impact could be enormous. People banging on about his age will see the difference in having a top striker in our team pretty quickly. He is technically miles better than our strikers and twice as strong on the ball as Rooney and Rashford put together.

if that happens, I expect every fan who has abused Woodward since December to personally write to him with an apology.

Wonder what shirt no Ibra will get? If its the no 7 shirt, I might even buy one!

@Downcast I don't know about you but I'm fairly sure that this season was the fastest and more powerful Zlatan that PSG had.

I would love this to happen. He wont play for LVG, Mournho and zlatan vs pep it could be. Come on united, make it possible.

Zlatan is no slower than Giroud, and is ten times the player in every other aspect of the game.

He'll score at least 20 next season. Not bad for a freebie.

That's Rashford and Martials careers over then :( Silver lining is that we can watch the sheer youthful pace of Ibra and Rooney powering past the non-physical premier leagues slow defences all season long. Even better if LVG is still in charge or better still, Giggs

I can't see Zlatan taking Rooney seriously as captain
Zlatan doesn't care about that stuff. He doesn't want captaincy, he just is one. Makes others around him better, makes them want to win. If someone isn't trying their hardest to win you can be sure Zlatan will be up their arses.

Nobody is asking the important question here!!

We've got 2 stands to name. Which one is he going to get?

Zlatan with Jose would genuinely make me very happy, the happiest I have been in what feels like an eternity. Seems too good to be true with our club these days.

It doesn't take much to find players dropping off a cliff from own season not the next when they get to their mid 30's.

And the Winner of the most negative poster is...

What a load of nonsense.

I have no worries with that if Mourinho arrives. He will manage Zlatan perfect and Zlatan has something to prove in England and his hunger to beat Pep too.

A slow, aging star playing week in week out in the Premier League, just exactly what we need. Not.

He may be technically gifted but you need way more than that in this league - namely pace. He won't get the space he needs in this league to do what he does.
Because Ligue 1 is full of slow players, right?

And "he may be technically gifted"? No, he is extremely technically gifted, one of the most skilled players in the world. And just because he isn't very quick doesn't mean that he's slow. I swear some of you have never seen Ibra play.

Martial plays on the left and he is doing fairly well while the 18 years old Rashford will have the luxury to train and learn from one of the most professional, charismatic and gifted player around.

This would probably be the most exciting signing since.....well.....I don't know when. Maybe since we signed Rooney. Is there anything other than a vague quote to get my hopes up?

Look at him, he looks made for our shirt. RMC saying it too now, definately some truth it seems.

35 year old striker who has never played in England before.

What could go wrong?
Sounds like one for the marketing team. He'd be an upgrade on Rooney at #9, but that not exactly hard. We are fast turning into a retirement home.

I'd be interested in some stats on his goal scoring record against English opposition in the CL, if anyone has them.

I watched him miss a penalty at a charity game at OT. And I've seen him as part of the biggest (size wise) and arguably worst strike partnership to ever appear against us alongside Adriano for Jose's Inter.

Lvg said he is too old earlier, now we are offering him a contract. Its clear who is making this signing. Its happening isnt it? JOSE!

Zlatan scored 4 against the mighty England

Pace is a huge part of the modern game but I reckon with pace either side of him Zlatan is more than capable of doing a job for us and even then, who wouldn't want to sign Zlatan just because he is Zlatan? Also it makes perfect sense commercial sense for the club as well who'd benefit massively through shirt sales.
