It's Fecking Zlatan... All those doubting this transfer should be forced to watch highlights of every low scoring game we have played in this season.

He is not a Falcao, he is not injured or has had any serious injuries, he says he is in the best shape of his life and looks like he wants to play under Mourinho.

Top 5 best players in the world and people are doubting.

35 year old striker who has never played in England before.

What could go wrong?

Zlatan is a different case to the norm, the guy seems to be improving with age, imo he would fit us perfectly, and could be the big name to finally knock Rooney off his perch, ok he wouldn't be here long but he'd certainly be remembered, it's a no brainer really given it'd be a free transfer.

Mourinhi+Ibra is happening I reckon.

Hopefully we get enough pace added to the squad as well. If we do, his impact could be enormous. People banging on about his age will see the difference in having a top striker in our team pretty quickly. He is technically miles better than our strikers and twice as strong on the ball as Rooney and Rashford put together.

Reliable source! It's happening, it means Jose is also coming!

We need winners, attitude and charisma in this squad and he brings that! Name going straight on the back of my shirt!!!

This.

Signing Zlatan would be one of the best signings this club will make. He's just had his best season ever.
And unlike Falcao he hasn't had career impacting injuries and is a naturally charismatic and enigmatic character, both of which will help his transition.

Plus, he'll (hopefully) be playing under a manager he really likes.

As I've said before, we need to add enough pace to compliment him otherwise we're proper morons, but given we do that, and we really should, it's a complete no-brainer.

He is a one-of-a-kind player so if anybody can succeed in the Premier League at that age, its probably him.

But old strikers do have a terrible track record in this league. The only example of a 34-35 year-old-striker striker having a high level Premier League season that I can think of is Sheringham for United in 2000-2001. Even guys who aged really well like Ian Wright and Alan Shearer were basically cooked by the age of 35.

Also, while Zlatan has a good relationship with Mourinho, I have some doubts about whether he is really willing to put in the defensive work that Jose usually asks of his forward players. Effective high pressing starts with the striker.

What's both amazing and slightly sad is, I heard the Zlatan rumour and immediately thought "that must mean Van Gaal is gone then!" It says a lot about Van Gaal and what he's done to me as a fan that this is my first thought and not "yeah! Ibra is amazing!"

He loves to talk about himself in the third person. That alone is enough to sign him

The Leadership he will bring will also be quite good.

He could be our youngsters Cantona to look for inspiration.

Wow still cant believe Ibra could play for us, feck it. If he wants to prove himself and Mou helps him, could be fantastic. He is an absolute global star, absolutely magnificent.

Feel like I'm reading way too much into this but no way Van Gaal would even offer this if it was him in charge. Surely there have been assurances of Mourinho.

This is Bouhafsi as well, the most reliable source.

I normally don't like signing players that have little left to prove but I'll make an exception in this case. We need a proven first team striker desperately. He won't get in the way of Rashford's development. Martial could cause havoc from the left given opposition centre halves will have their hands full with Ibrahimovic. There's that, plus he's free. I'm all for it.

He might want to play for Mourinho again so badly that he consider giving up CL football for a season. Fantastic if true.

With the lack of available centre forwards I'd say it's probably just worth the gamble but not fully convinced this is the right option.

I know he likes number 10 but i hope he knows the history of nr 7. He is the seven we've been waiting for.

The fact that he scored 36 league goals last season (albeit in a weaker league than the Prem) makes me believe he could do a good job for us next season despite his age.

He has a nice bit of physicality too which we have been missing most of the season. I could see him getting 15-20 league goals next season should we manage to pull this off

Plus he'd only cost us abut 4 bomb scares a season in wages

Mate he is nothing like Cantona. Not as a person anyway. You're confusing humour free narcissism with charisma. In fact quite a few on here are.

If he does come here I predict a major let down. All this talk of being a great. The guys spent almost his entire career outside the top two leagues. It's a nonsense.

This

Though with the way it's been these last few years, he'll turn to shit as soon as he puts on the shirt. It's cursed I tell you.

A slow, aging star playing week in week out in the Premier League, just exactly what we need. Not.

He may be technically gifted but you need way more than that in this league - namely pace. He won't get the space he needs in this league to do what he does.

I voted no, but still, promising news.

If he fails I swear we should bin this signing lark altogether

Would wager he'd be the no 1 selling shirt in England next season if this happens.
