I can see him join us if Mourinho is our next manager. My only concern is that we will see Rooney with Ibrahimovic in the starting eleven most of the games.

Paraphrasing Ibra here.....

He said that they played three at the back today while never practicing or playing that way before. Said it went how it went. Wasnt happy with tactics.
So he sulked?

The league seems closer to the Premier League than the Dutch. Three of the very best imports this season - Martial, Payet, and Kante - all came from Ligue 1.

Imagine when he gets subbed for Ashley Young.

In a much poorer league.

Look at his CL record for PSG. Apart from three years ago when he scored 8 in 10 app his record has been and average of 1 goal every 3 games twice and this season 1 goal every 2 games.

I have said it before but I wouldn't expect him top transfer his PSG GPG ratio to the PL, or anywhere close to it.

He obviously won't replicate his Ligue 1 numbers over here. His best days are behind him but he's still a massive upgrade on any striker in our squad, and better than any forward player we have a realistic chance of signing this summer with no CL football for the second time in three years.

Think thats part of the problem though much like the Eredivisie, any player who has a good season in France quickly moves to PSG, England or Spain etc.

The teams under PSG are pretty poor. PSG are 28 points clear at the top having won the league over two months before the end of the season.

The thing with Eredivisie is that the level drops dramatically after the top few good teams, looking more like U21 football than anything else whereas the quality in Ligue 1 is pretty well balanced behind PSG.

The teams under PSG aren't poor, Nice and Lyon are good teams, Monaco sold players who weren't supposed to be sold Kondogbia and Martial. The 28 points are misleading.

How so?

PSG are a good side but not a great one as we continue to see in the CL. So if they are walking that league at a canter and are almost 30 points ahead having tied the title up at the end of Febuary and the 2nd placed team is closer to relegation than they are to PSG. That to me doesn't suggest a very strong league.

Lyon the current second best side in France finished rock bottom of their CL group winning only one game, behind Zenit, Gent and Valencia. Monaco the 3rd best side finished 3rd in their EL group behind Spurs and Anderlecht also winning only one game. So those teams are not that good.

It's misleading because there isn't 30 points between Lyon and PSG. Lyon faced problems between the players and their manager which destroyed their first half of the season, it's going to be controversial but Lyon are very close to PSG.

If it's a choice between Ibra on a free of £60M+ for Lukaku/Higuain, I'd opt for Ibra and give our young strikers a couple of seasons to develop into our long term #9.

Roundabout way of saying van Gaal is a fool and that United should sack him.

Ibra's an immense but arrogant player that thinks others should bow down to him. I think United could do having that type of player to guide and lead the young ones.

Indeed Lyon had an awful start of the season in the league and CL but on current form Lyon is much better than us as our last encounter proved. I'm sure they would have trashed that City team.

Agreed. Even at age 34/35, Ibra is capable of knocking in 20-30 goals next year. That would give the young strikers a chance to learn from him and possibly step up once age catches up to him.

Yeah i know it's 28 points, League tables don't lie mate.

Lyon are an average side as are Monaco judging by their european performances, everything below them is even worse. Ligue 1 is an average league with only one good team.

Yea, I find it funny when people here keep trashing Ligue 1 despite so many players from Ligue 1 successfully adapting to the EPL.

Rooney, Carrick, Mata, Schweinsteiger, Blind and Ibra in the same starting eleven would be so slow it would stop the rotation of the Earth.

Exactly, just looking at Rashford and Martial tonight it would be crazy to buy a £60M 23 year old this summer, these 2 are shaping up to be fantastic for us, we need a striker that can give them a bit more time and carry the bulk of the load as they develop, that is Ibra to a T.

The league is still shit, doesn't mean it doesn't have some good players. Players have adapted to the EPL from the Danish and Norwegian leagues, means nothing

Do not want. He'll cost a fortune and he simply isn't that good anymore, especially physically. I doubt if he can handle the PL week in week out. But most of all it's his attitude, the man always creates turmoil, everything must be about him. I doubt he will settle for anything less than being the starplayer. If he was as easy-going and had the mentality of someone like Kuyt obviously I'd want him here.

I'm not much for making up dream lineups but if you instead consider Ibra flanked by Martial and potentially a new winger on the right with Rashford and Depay as backups would definitely have enough speed. Especially if we also use Herrera as a 10 and with Shaw back etc. We look a lot slower than we are with LVG's choice of style and players atm, in my opinion.

GDS say he's asking us for €3m a month. Double his current salary.

Hopefully we stay well clear of him. Was a great move from him to move to France to increase his reputation and bolster his records playing in a crappy league and for a side well and truly better than anything else in the league.

I'd take Ibra for a couple season. He's built for the Premier League and he's obviously fit enough. He'd give us a mental advantage as well as a sporting advantage. Teams would fear him!
