Absolutely terrible until the goal. He is the type of player that can make that kind of difference in a crap like this though.
Thought his overall hold up play was really good actually and he was bringing everyone into play. The only part lacking today was that final ball into Mkhitaryan has been slightly off like 3 times where otherwise he would've been in. And his shite free kicks.

Thanks for the goal, but he's killed us in the final third too many times with his taking an age on the ball and poor passing. Seen this in too many matches.

Why would anyone be desperate for him to fail? He's got goals becase we create loads. The disappointment has been with his finishing and overall play. He easily should have been on 15-17 goals by now.

A good striker would've scored that. Zlatan scored off the bar and the post because he can

Frustrating brilliance.

This. His awareness of passing inbetween lines and bringings others into play is amazing. Unfortunately, he always takes the high risk/reward plays and the odds are always against him. Despite that, I love the arrogance and his confidence in trying to play them because he certainly has the technique and ability.

Long term it can only be a good thing than a 'hold the ball and keep it simple' no. 9. We need that single mindedness leading the line.

If Rooney had have played up front he'd be on what, maybe 4?

Nail on the head here, been fantastic with a few passes that only he saw and then wasteful with some easier ones.
Overall linked midfield and attack well, like pogba I feel sometimes he could keep it simpler but that's never going to happen.
Great finish

Rooney has been great recently no need to drag this into yet another anti Rooney post.
His point is that he could (arguably should) of scored more.
Playing well like Rooney recently, long may it continue

You could argue the keeper shouldn't come out, which is obvious.

You can also argue that the defender if he kept running he would have stopped it, he jogs back until it hits the post then accelerates.

You can also say because of Zlatan being unorthodox in his approach the defender assumed it was going in so already stopped running, and that bought the chance a split second more to go in. (if he shot lower and it was clearly trickling in the defender would have sprinted to stop it).

Poor game though.

When he's in bully mode very hard to stop. Wish he would use his body more often

They're making a big deal out of the incident with Coleman (despite there being nothing in it) ban incoming?

Guaranteed. Neville saw to that.

I'd say it was virtually impossible for him to do that purposefully but thats not going to stand in the way of the witch hunt.

The more people talk about it of course the bigger chance is it they ban him. Wouldn't surprise me if some idiot start a thread on it here as well soon.

Yes, because threads on Redcafe are a key part of the review process.

Why is Rooney coming into it? When Zlatan was poor, I wanted Rashford or Martial given a chance up top. I've said multiple times, we need a new striker for next season and with neither Rooney or Zlatan close to first choice.

Was absolutely poor before the goal. Was marginally better after it. Slows down our game and some of his decision making was poor at times.

We are away from home against a good team and he has two defenders around him all times. Give him a break. He done well.

Only for fecking Fellaini we would have won this game.

He did get on the score sheet but I thought he struggled to hold it up a lot today as the pace of the game was not suited to him, I know Jose never wants to sub him but if he doesn't trust Rashford to come on as a relief for him later in games we need to address the striker options.

Eh? He has been very good in his overall play the past few games. And I have lambasted him for it before that.

Wtf is this, people actually thought he wasn't good? His hold up play was great and he worked very hard with good interceptions. Scored a good goal as well.

This guy is an absolute joke. His build up play is atrocious.

There were so many times today where he could have played an easy pass but lost it because he was trying to show off. He plays like an inexperienced 17 year old. He has no brain.

He should have been off for Rashford. When we tried to play on the counter Zlatan kept losing the ball and giving them another go at us. It's absolutely unacceptable and surely Jose can see this. Some of you think he's the dogs bollocks but you're wrong. I've had enough of his antics now. He might score one goal but i bet we'd score loads more without him in the team.
