Maybe we should stop buying slow heavy strikers.

That are 34 at the time of purchase.

Yeah...Ibra made a great pass to Rashford...BUT after the pass Ibra should have followed it up with a FAST run to the box to draw defenders so Rashford's shot would have been more open. But NO. Do great pass then no energy to do anything else.

Granted he could have done better in some passes, but hes got defenders around him at all times. He cant win every ball.

That's the thing for me, I don't have problems with him losing battles against Kompany or when he was outnumbered. fecking easy passes, shitty first touch are my biggest issues with him.

I don't believe it. Bar one pass, Ibrahimovic played like he was on some very strong narcotics.
Rooney played like he was a pub footballer. I can't believe it's even up for debate. Rooney has been awful, as has Ibrahimovic. I expect if we dropped Zlatan for half a dozen games and played Rooney up front, in 6 games we'd have the same people saying we should bring Zlatan back because he isn't as bad as Rooney. It's so fecking knee jerk on this forum, we go around and around in circles and get nowhere.

Time for the first time since Fergie to start putting the team before players.....

Give Zlatan a week or two off, Martial or Rashford at 9 and give Mhikitaryan or Memphis some time

Zlatan has played well while not scoring....his pwrformance levels vrs Liverpool and Chelsea have dropped

Let him sort himself out

Honestly, it's only really the goals that are the difference from what I've seen from him here compared to PSG. He played just as rubbish at times during his stint in Ligue 1 but PSGs excellent team, and his impressive goal return masked that. Though, to be fair, he wasn't as consistently bad as this over in France.

He has been awful I agree. An awful passes gave City their best chance. He is all over the place. Pathetic free kick to boot.

In fairness, everyone is playing pretty poorly but somehow the likes of Rooney and Zlatan get the most attention.

Yet they both did last season and did good.
No martial played out wide rashford played some games up top.
He should be brought through when ready not thrusted into the 11 because we are having a panic like we did with adnan.

Shouldn't be playing Thursday Sunday Wednesday. He is 35 FFs, it aint rocket science.

As much as it's not really an excuse for just how bad he has been tonight this is a ridiculously obvious point that I can't believe it needs to be said.

It's actually worse though isn't it? He's now played Monday, Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday. 4 games in 9 days, bloody daft to expect a 35 year old to be able to cope with that.

You're missing my point. You're talking about Rooney being shit for a longer period which is true but completely irrelevant to what I said. I said if you are to take that first half alone, Rooney hasn't been this bad this season IMHO.

Doing very well out there, in terms of presenting his best Falcao impression.

Absolutely diabolical. Needs to turn it around asap! I think he could do with a rest, and I think Rashford could do with going up front, but doesn't look likely at the moment.

Well in Zlatan case, people hailed him as some kind of savior while the more rational people think he would not do that well here at the age of 35.

That and Jose making him look like the only player who can play on top and won't even sub at all so far.

I know what you mean as it's a team game, but they are our stars and supposed leaders. If Barca were in a bad slump of form with no one really putting in top performances, Messi, Neymar and Suarez would probably be the ones who were most criticised.

1) He's not playing worse.. 2) Rooney wasn't 'off form' he's just terrible and has been for years and 3) Ibrahimovic is still superior to Rooney at everything.
Not going off the last few games and he is playing much much worse, his missed chances have cost us points going back to the derby

Martial did play up front a lot of times till rash emerged.

Zlatan has been significant more worse.

Nah....its just a perceptual illusion. If we nicked a goal he would then be viewed as ok, even if he didn't score it. Its just a way to vent because we are playing pretty mediocre stuff at the moment.

He wasn't playing up front, and when he was played up front he was great and responsible for 2 goals
Zlatan hasn't scored or assisted for how many games? And continues to miss chance after chance

Are you joking? We played Rooney in every possible position to try and prolong his stay in the team and he has been awful in every one of them. Rightfully dropped and hope he never comes back in the team frankly.

It really isnt, he's losing the ball consistently and stupidly, that's what the majority is seeing. Nick a goal? How? His pass to Rash was brilliant but other than that he hasnt done anything right.

Rooney was class in his last match

Not really. Rooney's gotten by far the most attention, I'll agree, when you look at the length of his thread, but I'm not sure Zlatan's come in for more criticism than players like Pogba, Fellaini, Blind and Smalling at times, all of whom have been criticised quite extensively (and sometimes rightfully) for their play.

And even if he is getting more criticism...it's presumably down to the fact that we've signed him to be one of our best players, and he hasn't really been that since the start of the season. The scapegoat excuse or "player X is getting more attention than he deserves" seems to be oft used as a way to deflect from actual discussion regarding a players form or performance.

Like the pass he just made to Pogba. Anything can happen really.

Rooney the answer apparently, feck me some of you have short memories.

However poor Zlat plays, Martial/Rash and even Memphis should be ahead of him at 9.

Used his strength very well in the lead-up to the goal, more of what we need!

Watch the haters disappear..
