I don't know if he was just lacksidasical, tired or his head was elsewhere but he only seemed to be half paying attention to what was going on today.

Appalling today but he gets a pass.

Rest of the team need to start scoring goals and quickly.

Did not look himself. That one chance where he decided to pass it sideways straight into the Stoke defence instead of smashing it at goal was criminal.

He was passing up every chance to shoot. Incredible.

It may seems strange but my worst disappointment today was not his poor performance but the moment Adam fouled then came at him and he just acted like, well, Mata. No matter what is going on with him, he needs to be rested.

Didn't think he was any worse than last week, only difference is he got a goal last week to deflect.

Disappointing today. He needs to really shoot from those tightish angles. We can't rely on always walking it in. Sometimes we need our big center forward to get a goal when he has a sight of it and today I thought he had many chances to score but decided to try and pass.

I think he had a lot of chances and also created a lot chances that should really have been concerted into goals - Mata being the obvious example.

Rest him against Hull, we can afford to with our lead which leaves the attacking up to Hull, we can counter with the pace of Martial and Rash.

All these games adds up and I think we'll see him more and more lethargic if we don't start resting him a bit more. For example he doesn't have to finish every match he starts, I dont know if it is some ego thing or what, but when we are safe in the lead he can easily come off for one of Martial or Rash. Big difference between playing 90 minutes week in and week out as compared to coming off at 60 mins.

Not a good game but to be fair to him he should have another assist to his name if Mata puts that chance in. There were a couple of times he really should have taken a shot on though instead of passing.

Thought he had one chance myself

He looked very tired today

Thats not his fault, its fault of JM,we could place our first XI in same situation as Liverpool/Chelsea but instead he had to use him in away game in EL for example.Like kids/reserves dont know how to lose vs Fener or Feyenoord.

Not sure if the club should extend his contract for another year if we get Antoine in. I know he's here to stay for another year though, and Jose loves him too much for that not to happen

Mixed bag.

Maybe still ill? Or a bit tired?

France usually has a winter break don't they?

His passing was again very sloppy. He annoys me more than he excites me to be honest.

I wonder if it's tiredness finally catching up to him after all the games he's played without a break?
Yeah for me, he did look tired. And we'll need him at the business end of the season, both in the league, and hopefully in the Europa Cup. Might be a good time to give Martial a run out at striker.

The touches Zlatan Ibrahimovic had in the first half are shown on the left. His greater involvement in the second half (on the right) was indicative of United's greater support of their frontman

Zlatan is pretty good now, one of our best players without doubt (probably our best behind Valencia IMO). However, in a years time he will probably be useless. Whoever includes him in their first XI for next season will regret it. Get a world class striker in to replace him as soon as possible or we are just postponing our problems.

He's pulled us out the shit more than anyone this season. Without his laboured goals we would be considerably lower on points.

He wasn't great today but do you expect a 35 year old to pull us out the shit every game? That's the problem when you hit a bit of form at United, the moment you drop that form the fans are on your back.

I don't know about you lot but I tend to give it 2 - 3 consecutive games of bad form before calling for a player to be dropped. I know we are a massive club and have high expectations but surely we can show a bit of mercy to our players, especially the likes of Zlatan, Pogba, Mhki.

Fwiw I think he'll score 1 or 2 next game and will continue doing so all season, with obvious exceptions of course.

Poor today. Should have done better with that chance where he didn't cut back on his right.

The sad part is that without him we simply have very little in attack. If Jose could have gotten more out of martial, we could have had a second goakscorer and huge attacking threat.

I still can't believe he didn't take a shot when he was clear on goal despite being at an angle. One of his worst performances for United

I thought that was weird as well. Or check-back that guy onto his arse. That dribble forward touch was so ... poor. It is almost as though he put his head down thinking he had acres to set himself. It was a strange play as he made acres of space and time suddenly look like everything was rushed in the blink of an eye. Maybe that was the trick of the onrushing defender?

He looked bloody knackered today though.

He shouldn't even be on the bench against Hull on Thursday. Unleash the Rash on them and give him a rest

Bad performance. Look disinterested at times and shocking decision making. At least 2 chances he could go for it himself but trying to do something else and ended up killed our chances.

Its EPL and he is 35, it is quite natural to see him tired. Needs rest against Hull. Hopefully Rash shows some form and lets Ibra get more rest. We cant rely mainly on a 35 year old striker to lead the line, even if the striker is really talented.

I still don't understand why he tried to pass the ball the second time.
I still wonder the same. Same with the cross which he tried to bring down and Shacross cleared.

It's about decision making, not just about being tired like the poster above to try make.
