Still hoping that all this is nonsense and we sign Klopp/Jose/Ancelotti out of nowhere.

I don't want to jump all over Moyes. If it's true, I will give my support to him, but I don't believe he's right for the job. He's done a good job at Everton with the resources he's had, but when you compare his record to Mourinho, I'm afraid there's no contest.

Mourinho would walk straight into here and give us success, and I do believe he'd win the CL with us. Even if we only have him here 3-5 years, it would be worth it if we won a few titles, a CL and 1-2 other cups.

If Moyes does get appointed, despite what any of us may think we have to give our FULL support to him. Replacing Fergie is going to be the biggest job in football (ever!), and he's going to need all the support from the fans he can get.

Agreed, & it's so obvious too.

Yeah.

Schmeichel, who I think is ambassador, has tweeted Miyes has been confirmed.

HE's been trolling, tbf.

Said earlier after Gill's statement we might be considering Pulis.

I just keep saying David Moyes over and over in my head, David Moyes...it can't be!

Going to be very difficult considering for example only 11% on here want him.

People I'm sure will back him or whoever gets the position. It's just that he's not the man most people would think of when thinking about SAF's replacement. Could have been worse... could have been Mark Hughes

No he didn't you backward child. He said the fourth longest serving manager in the PL is Pulis and by the end of the season he may be the only one still in his job.

Easy to say 'Full backing' right now. But you just know this place will be in meltdown the first time we lose a game.

We've had bad seasons under SAF, we might have been due another one next year. If Moyes comes in and fails, so be it, it won't be long before we're back to talking about Klopp, Mourinho and Guardiola. If he comes in and finally wins some silverware, it will be a great story for him and the club.

I'm not going to pretend Moyes was my preference when I voted or now he's all but confirmed, but there's no point in doing what LFC did with Hodgson or Chelsea with Benitez. If he's the choice of the club, there's no reason not to back him 100%.

Schmeichel backtracked on his tweet. He said he did it based on the Times report.

The caf had a wobble there, does this mean someone is now officially appointed?

Unlike most here, I actually have confidence in United supporters. Clearly Moyes is not most people's first choice (and certainly not mine), but I reckon most will get pretty firmly behind him. Post-defeat meltdowns shouldn't be much worse than usual.

Personally I wouldn't demand anything other than qualification for the CL for the next three seasons. If after three the club still isn't looking successful, then I'd feel justified in bringing up new names again. But not before, regardless of who we hire.

Moyes now at 1/10, was at 1/25 15 minutes ago. Mourinho also now at 5/1 instead of 6/1.

-No experience managing a big club, nevermind a club the size of ours.

-No Champions league experience

-Has no clue what to expect in a title run in

-The only thing he's got going for him is the fact that he'll stick around and will give us longevity. But what's the use if he's not as good as some of the other candidates mentioned.

Very few fans wanted Ferguson when we appointed him

I completely agree.

Yet Ferguson was far more qualified to to take over in 1986 then Moyes is in 2013... and the difference in our club between now and then is staggering.

For me, Moyes simply doesn't have the relevant experience with the type of things that go into being a Manchester United managment. Apart from winning major trophies, title chases, Champions League etc... he also has no experience of using a large transfer budget, or of managing a large squad, or of managing the best players in the world.

I probably sound like a broken record, but it's a valid point I'd say.
