Its sold out everywhere in the UK
Currently upwards of £750 on eBay with most bids on systems in the £900 range...mental.

Really weird the way they configured their supply chain then. It's virtually everywhere in Poland, some of the stores I found it in are in small towns where it's very unlikely anyone will want to buy it. There are even 4 of them in my hometown, I'm pretty sure they won't be bought for the next 3 months.

The X?

I went and picked my brother's up from Smyths near me an hour ago, they had loads in stock but apparently there's an issue with the click and collect still claiming it's in the preorder stage and have sold out.

Seems like a huge feck up all round (not surprising after the Klarna credit fiasco!)

As said above, there does actually appear to be stock in some places, but it's more of a feck up with the ordering systems.

Ooof I've had this before numerous times lately.

It either means there's multiple delivery warehouses near you and they've sent it to the wrong one which means it won't be coming today (as they flat out refuse to send it out from there again, it'll likely go back and be rescheduled) or they don't actually know where it has gone.

Fingers firmly crossed your experience will be different mate, it really sucks when this happens.
Thanks mate. So after speaking to that guy (which was the third person I got passed to), he offered me a £5 voucher. I said that's not enough to cover my wasted day off (I made this up). He offered me a month's prime. I said that still doesn't really cover it. Then he left the chat and now I'm on to a 4th fecker

This is shocking stuff from Amazon, who are usually great.

Issues for a console that has literally only just come out?
Standard for launch. Pretty sure Xbox One and PS4 had similar articles and they're usually nothing major - one of the points is about iPlayer not being on next gen consoles yet.

These duracell disposable batteries are really nice

Two of them
People on ResetEra rave over Eneloops batteries.

Keep pushing. I took a day off for a fridge delivery not long ago and got £90 off my order by repeatedly escalating.

Still not arrived/scanned at a postal sorting office. Why did they have to wait until 8pm last night to do this shit :( They could have easily sent these out at lunchtime yesterday so it got sorted and delivered today, bypassing any pre-launch potential deliveries. Pricks.

Be careful though. Escalate too much and you might chat to a Elvis, who probably has had enough and will cancel your order.

From what @altodevil said there seemed to be a few in Norway as well. Guessing there'll basically be none available in the USA/UK (though it did take a while for the console to be out of stock), which is where the Xbox usually sells best, and supplies available in most other countries.

Yeah, the past year or so they have been progressively worse. It's not just covid either, as they have obviously earned fortunes from it.

They are palming you off it seems, it's a classic tactic offering the £5 voucher. They basically don't know where it is :(

Ohh interesting. Yeah it’s sold out on Smyths website and my local store is out of stock

Yep. Seems like a lot of people are getting them imported from mainland Europe.

The guy who gave me the Xbox (or should I say forklifted the f***ing thing to me ) said they had at least 50 left in stock that weren't reserved, and only 12 of those that preordered had actually picked theirs up before I did (that was around 9). You can't just go in and buy one though.

Also, I saw the pile of them that were designated for customers and I have to say, it was surprisingly small, I reckon about 20 or so. Though that might be in batches, but I doubt it because my text said I could get it anytime in the next 2 days.

It's all rather weird.

Proper shit news Veeva! Feel for you pal.

In other news, my Very order is out for delivery

does anyone know where to get the wireless controller and dongle for PC by the way? Seems to be fecking sold out everywhere.

I don’t think stores got many. There were possibly 30 odd bags ready at Game when I picked mine up. I know it’s the same for PS5 as they assign you a number (with a raffle ticket) and I paid for mine quite late Wednesday before they closed the prepay before lockdown and was number 39.

I dunno, when I placed the preorder in store, they had hundreds available. And as I say, the guy reckons there were plenty left not pre ordered today.

I think their system is more fecked than they care to let on.

Unlucky @esmufc07 you 8th gen peasant.

That's a hefty amount. I was on there for over half an hour and had to go, but I fully intend on sending some emails complaining more.

Ta mate. Won't be using them again for something like this, that's for sure.

Nice.

fecking heavy though isn't it, I think it's actually heavier than my big ass desktop! Hopefully that just means built to be solid and last

Have you seen the teardown video?

Form factor and how it all pieces together seems great to an untrained eye.

Annoying that, I‘ve just phoned my local store but no answer either. My stepsons got the series S arriving later I’m sucked into the hype.

I haven't yet, no. I've been ridiculously busy, but luckily my workload clears for the next couple of weeks so I can finally set it up and check out all the vids

Form factor isn't something I'm particularly knowledgeable in either, but as long as the airflow between the components is set up right, then I should think it's a work of art inside as it's heavy as feck, but still a reasonable overall size for the power.

Drafting my email now. I might straight up mention 'a friend got x amount off their order'. How much was the fridge?

If they say no, I can say 'so I'm not as valued as them?', which seems like decent leverage.

That was 15% off. I think 10% would be more than reasonable.

Series S arrived from Amazon.

Delivered by some company I’ve never heard of
