You are just jealous because you have no time.

Also, it's a skill issue.
Was actually a game I played a bit with mates during Covid much like warzone and all that and we really enjoyed it! Loads of fun. I think someone’s free Gamepass month expired though and that was the end of it.

Cool story bro. Doesn't change a single word of my post...
Yes I have no time because I have a fecking crying new born. Are you happy now? My friends are all on playing age of empires 4 while I rock a fecking buggy trying to keep this little shitcnut asleep so my wife can get some rest. Are you happy now you feckstick? What have I become :(

I am, yes.

But don't worry, you'll be back to playing games in no time! Only thing is, you now have another person in the world who will be kicking your arse at them before you know it

I'm fairly sure my partner has a picture of me from my paternity leave, me slouched on the sofa with my daughter asleep on my chest and a controller in my hand as I was playing Sunset Overdrive. Great time to get some gaming hours in that was!

Thought it was released years ago.
Good game anyway. Base game is very slow to get going but it hits a good stride from the first expansion on.

So what's happened to Game Pass? It's been a pretty quick switch into games which have been given away for free / cheap filler content from where they were a few months ago. I'm guessing budgets have been cut so they can try and make some money.

Good news for those who haven't played Celeste or Limbo the previous times they were on Game Pass - they're back!

A Short Hike is a lovely little game, would recommend. Though yeah, it is short as the name suggests.

It seems to me like they blew the budget during the user acquisition stage and have ended up changing tactics to rely on interest in their upcoming heavy hitters to keep people interested. I agree with you that it's been a mighty quick switch.

I also suspect, though with no real evidence, that some publishers have increased demands for their content to appear on the service. Notably Capcom. Their games haven't appeared on the service in forever.

I think this might be the final form in the sense of it being a whole bunch of indie games from first-time devs looking for publicity, some bigger but sorta niche titles (e.g. Everspace 2), and Microsoft's first-party output.

They announced a new IP from Capcom that is coming to gamepass day 1 at e3 so that isn't the best example. Though I generally agree with you.

Growth has stagnated and they need to account for likes of Starfield and Forza being included on the service. Now their first party line up looks like it will start delivering relatively frequently plus the fact that growth has slowed means 3rd party offerings will probably continue to be on the lesser side.

Also worth considering Sonys increased action in this space will have had an impact since the new PS+ models. They are competing to get 3p games on their own service, and often putting restrictions on publishers putting games on Gamepass.

You're right – I was referring more to older games like DMC, Resident Evil, the Phoenix Wright trilogy, etc. All seem perfect for gamepass but have been conspicuously absent of late (DMC might have been on there at some point). I've also noticed some weirdness in terms of them putting games like AI: Somnium Files and Nier Automata on GP but then not putting the sequels/prequels on there despite them being out for 12+ months. That really bothers me as somebody who like those.

You're less cynical than me, which is good, but I don't agree that Starfield and Forza are going to be strong enough to make gamepass worthwhile on its own. It's the same issue I have with Disney+ and its reliance on specific IPs. It will always need strong mid-tier games to ensure it appeals to a wide range of gamers with unique tastes (as gamers always have). Thankfully Day One releases like that Capcom game, Hollow Knight: Silksong and Persona 3: Remake means it isn't all bad :)

Painters are in today so took the day off work. Decided to bring the Xbox upstairs and use on one of my work monitors. No sound, but no problem I thought, I can just use my bluetooth headset.

Then I find out that Xbox doesn't use Bluetooth, they use a propriety protocol.

What the feck?

It's the same on PS5 isn't it? They want you to buy the Xbox headset which works natively with the console.

You can just plug your headphones into the bottom of the controller and play this way. I do it all the time.

Yeah PS5 headset you need to plug in a USB, mine just stays in the back of the console alongside my external hard drive for the PS4 games.

Started this. Thanks really enjoying it.
Nice one. I played through both chapters a couple of times just to see how divergent the storylines are. Really good little game / interactive movie. What I thought was an area where it excelled was the writing and voice acting, they were definitely of pretty high quality. Really pretty engrossing story.

Is it just me or is one of them not like the others and listing it next to them (after them) is weird and dismissive. Looked again and its not an official tweet so I'm just being cynical i guess.

The grips on my elite controller were falling off so I replaced the whole shell and now I think I might have busted it for good.

I blame MS. If the thing had a better build quality I wouldn't have had to take it open!

I played Warzone with my regular controller and missed the paddles, big time!
