I suspect reactions to Starfield would be more positive if it coming to PS5
Most reactions I’ve seen have been largely positive than anything, no?

And most remaining skepticism about Starfield is more about Bethesda than anything to do with Microsoft, which I think is fair with their recent track record.

Yep, anyone with any sense would want it to be great.

The problems lie that we know what Bethesda do and how ropey that engine traditionally is. But, it's the sort of game I should love, so I'm keeping hopes up. Can do that whilst still pointing out the stuff that doesn't quite add up.

I get the feeling they may be rushing this out.

I'm sure it'll be perfectly serviceable as a game, but Bethesda are not what they once were so I have no expectations for them to radically change the gameplay.

Their selling point seems to be the procedural generation. May as well just call it No Man's Starfield.
Starfield has not, under any way to spin it, been rushed!

I'm out of my depth on the tech side, but the digital foundry guys seem to think it's fair/expected that starfield would be 30 fps. So, I'll go with them. I guess, I'm little surprised that there has been no talk of a 40fps mode.

Anyone else noticed the 'dragonborn' type power at the end of the showcase? (before todd comes on to finish it).

Guessing that comes from the artifact.

I found that very intriguing. I'm guessing that we'll be getting a "you're a regular explorer, but you touched an ancient relic and now you have a) superpowers, and b) unique knowledge of some impending threat to the galaxy" type story.

Which, to be clear, is a plus for me. I don't want it to be solely a space mining and base building sim.

BTW, quite a few people have said that the Fable footage contained real gameplay and if it did...oh my.

Yeah I'm very skeptical that is actual gameplay. Not that I don't believe it can look like that or whatever, but with how far away this game still is, how little we've seen otherwise and how cinematic that looks, it just doesn't check out. Probably just in-engine stuff.

I believe it for one simple reason, Playground Games.
When they said Playground were making it I knew it would be visually stunning. The question was how they would handle the story and how combat would feel.
Bio Muntant and Forspoken both looked great but played like a bag of spanners.
I'm quietly optimistic at the moment.

Me too, far too many frames per second.

Yea it's not as if companies haven't constantly done this in the past. I'm not buying anything as being actual gameplay until the game has launched.

Companies have falsified 'gameplay' footage during shows before.

I don't understand the fighting going on here? Sandwiches are great.

can we get baguettes as a 3rd option please?

Anyone watching the extended showcase? It feels a bit random so far, not sure if they're planning to go deeper on some Xbox Studios games.

A little disappointing after myself (and others, seemingly) assumed that this would be a game larger in scope than the Outer Worlds due to Obsidian being armed with Uncle Phil's Xbucks.

That being said, if the gameplay and storytelling depth are there I'm sure I'll still love it.
