I think this one is just a matter of time. Would have preferred Thuram, but Weghorst will do as well for now. Curious to see how he does, to be honest.

Up until they signed Grealish, we had multiple players that we spent more on individually then they did. I don't know why you think it's unlikely when we get very close to it every year. You think there's a mental block about 100m that United doesn't want to reach but will gladly pay 95m or something? There's nothing to suggest United won't pay up, you're making it sound like we do feck all in the transfermarket and are cheapskates when in reality... we are every year, one of the biggest spenders in the world.

The highest fee we've paid is £80m. That's a £20m gap to £100m. To make up that extra £20m it's going to take more than players the calibre of Pogba or Antony.
Should be interesting when Martinez meets Weghorst again.
I would rather put the money for Felix. Yes, Weghorst is a nuisance, but quality is more important and Felix is a far too talented football player.

Weghorst ticks all the boxes for what we want for a backup striker. It will only be a 6 months loan so his signing will not affect us trying to sign a good striker in summer. Even if it doesn't work out, he will be gone in 6 months anyway. The fact that so many posters here are against this means I am quietly confident that he will be useful for us. I mean, this place were moaning the whole fecking time when we were signing Bruno or even Martinez.
