Wout Weghorst

Thuram must play in goal then. Just admit, you haven't watched him play beyond his recent cameo at the WC.
He’s always played out on the left majorly throughout his career. I’d suggest you watch more of him if anything and don’t just look at him being 6 foot 4 to mean he must be a striker

I thought that was the point of Ighalo? And the point of Cavani? And even the point of Ronaldo? This club has skimped out on signing an actual no.9 for a long fecking time and it’s only carrying on doing so

Bit different now given the ownership situation

Upon Wout’s birth, his parents and two siblings observed another behaviour. That observation happened at the time he started to walk.

Early on, Wout got fond of rolling up his full diapers and shooting them off the stairs. As he did that, little did anyone know the boy was simply warming up for the future ahead of him.
"Countless well-meaning people urged me to give up football."
“They told me, ‘Forget football — you’re not good enough’,”

These were the words of Wout Weghorst – during his interview with Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung.

I have always been of the opinion that Wout Weghorst was the man who could lead us to glory.

Well are there any good enough for a top team? You seem to suggest not so you must know the answer?

He’s not at Burnley as he’s too good for that level.

His record this season is very good.
The best name we’ve been linked with is Felix. Will Weghorst start games over martial? We need an upgrade on martial really. We need to start scoring tons of goals with the chances we create.

Wednesday just gone 2-0 up against Newcastle, shocking pitch though so probably more suitable for a 3rd division side.

Fine with this as an option of the bench but let's not fool ourselves it's a poor option way down the list.

Always amuses me when people try spin stuff positively. How many actually wanted this guy days ago I wonder.

If we going to spend money on Championship players we may as well buy a championship player who scores goals: Diaz or Gyökeres

We won’t get an upgrade on Martial in January when we are getting rid of the Glazers and don’t have much of a budget until the summer.

I’m not sure why folk can’t grasp this?

Probably don’t see it happening then. Bestikas will want paying from us, and probably Burnley will want something for their trouble of bringing back a player who is doing well (who they could’ve potentially got 10m for in the summer). Will probably end up going from a cost effective 6 month loan to being a bit of a pricey punt on a guy who already faltered in the PL previously

You know you are a desperate when you mention the personality, its McTominay and Longstaff levels of praise

We aren’t going to get an upgrade on Martial in January with the ownership in the air and limited budget. Surely you know that?

Weghorst has 9 in 18 this season by the way

Fair enough if you want him just for the capability to have a Fellaini type come off the bench (who was very effective at that.) While Thuram isn’t a great header of the ball he does everything else at a good enough level to be a rotational piece here, with the upside of maybe developing enough to become a starter.
I think Thuram is def not the right quality for a permanent transfer. Ten Hag is right we need real quality. I'd rather any loan option was a stop gap off the bench option. The only permanent transfer I'd consider is Felix (I.e loan with obligation)

I’m sure some of the same people decrying United signing a relegated player and have previously lamented Liverpool signing the best players from relegated sides as they did with Robertson, Shaqiri, Elliot and Carvalho.

I think I’d score that in the Turkish league tbh.

But is for Besiktas and Holland?
Is that the standard you think is good enough? Holland doesn't have many good strikers. Besiktas? Really?

he scored 2 goals in 20 in the league last season, he was even dropped for fecking Burnley in the last few games.

that’s a goal a game, you do the math.

Cavani was a good signing initially and then we signed Ronaldo and kept a disinterested Cavani. I think Greenwood was the intended successor and then that plan fell to shit.

Let's hope this is the last stopgap before we get a true hero.

United don’t have many good strikers either ?

They were purchased outright though none of them were loaned in the last six months of their deal, even Giroud wouldn't accept that no decent player would.

Info: Wout Weghorst Manchester United are ahead of the Dutch striker. The Besiktas player is one of MU's priorities. Negotiations revolve around a paying loan and are considered advanced internally.

Is the question, how to give up on any top four hopes?

But should we sign just because of signing? No way. I rather go with Martial and playing 4-6-0 some games, City showed it works without a striker. Every option is better than your favourite Weghorst that you seem to be crazy in.
Defo bashing one of over Weghorst him.
