Wout Weghorst

The highest fee we've paid is £80m. That's a £20m gap to £100m. To make up that extra £20m it's going to take more than players the calibre of Pogba or Antony.
We spent £89m on Pogba 7 years ago, and 86m on Antony now this summer. I don't know why you see this as some big deal when we spent 3 times Antony's fee in total this summer. As if we wouldn't spend big on a striker if we had a choice that Ten Hag wanted to push for when all the evidence points to us doing exactly that.

Say what you may but I’ll like this signing. He might not be your big numbers guy but him in this team will be a great addition.

No one is good enough for this forum unless it's Mbappe

Nah, wait till you see any links to Mbappe and then you’re going to see many threads talking if Mbappe is the right signing. People will find fault in his xG or heading ability or the way he wipes his arse.

Some fans don't have a clue do they. I'm all for this transfer, I'm backing the manger here.

I'm sure Ten Hag done his background checks and feels he has the right mentality to play for utd and role he wants to fill for the team when playing.

Give him a chance, only loan for 6 months and if ends up doing well then we could end up buying him.

Premier league is a physical league and chap has physical presence and seems to have a decent touch for a big man.

Never know he may flourish with players that can create chances more for him.

Other Burnley, he's almost exactly a 1 in 2 striker, which is pretty surprising tbh, 1 in 4 for Holland, but I guess that's with very few minutes.

Not someone I'd have ever thought of, but seems like it could be a really intelligent loan attempt for 6 months only.

Sounds like a german sausage, what can go wrong, maybe flop?

If EtH wants Weghorst then that’s good enough for me. Erik knows what he’s doing and I certainly trust his judgment more than some of the idiots in this thread

Wait so this guy is on loan at Besiktas who are one of the clubs linked with Aboubakar?

so Ronaldo to Al Nasr, Aboubakar to Besiktas and WW to United?

No one is good enough for this forum unless it's Mbappe

Mbappé is overrated, his inflated farmer league stats won't translate at a higher level. Also he has an attitude and will demand to be named DOF.

Basically people want Lewandowski level of player and that's unrealistic. He's a good option and will trouble centre backs.

All moan moan moan.

It's January and we have feck all money.

People expecting Mbappe or something?

I be delighted with Weghorst, offers something completely different.

Terrible fecking take when Joao Felix is available on a loan.

No one is good enough for this forum unless it's Mbappe
So true. Out of all the options available for cheap and on loan he is one of the best we could do. Experienced, Good age, Strong, Physical, Aerially dominant, works hard, can score from feet too. What’s not to like? As good a bench option as they come in the later stages of the match especially against the bottom half.

That Wolfsburg time was the time after Glasner (who won the EuroLeague with Frankfurt) left Wolfsburg and van Bommel had his short stint at Wolfsburg. Take the seasons with Glasner - he was very good then.

Had 20 goals and 8 assists in 20/21 in 2950 minutes when Wolfsburg was 4th.

Burnley fans are notoriously stupid. This proves nothing!
They’ll know a lot more about there players then we do though. They watch them week in week out. I’m happy to be proved wrong though if we do sign him… I’ll obviously want him to contribute and help us achieve our targets as I’m sure any of our fans will.

I would rather put the money for Felix. Yes, Weghorst is a nuisance, but quality is more important and Felix is a far too talented football player.

We don’t have any money. Felix would come with a mandatory 100+ mill buy or a 15mill plus loan fee which is insane. Glazers won’t invest their own money, we are in debt, owe loads in transfer money thanks to all our transfers over the years been yearly payments, used vast majority of our credit line - it’s a cheap fix all we can hope for.

Is he any good?

Not so good that we should want to actually buy him at any point.

But given it is being reported that we're only interested loan moves this January, good enough to fit that criteria.

Terrible fecking take when Joao Felix is available on a loan.
And he is available for fecking 20 million for 5 months. Who the hell would pay for that? You? Because we certainly can’t.

I fecking swear to god, I’d rather the window shut this second than see another one of these wastemen linked with a move. It’s as depressing as it gets

yes, he’s a late bloomer because he was arsing about as a young adult. But he’s got his act together and he’s more far technical than you realize. Intelligent player.
I would rather sign no one than this. Happier to hear TenHag say the Glaziers aren't giving any money than settle for a C List player.

Love how this one persons name has divided the fan base  . 50% want him 50% don’t.

No bottom half club wanted to take him off Burnley, that says it all.
I think he only got the move to Burnley because he was anti-vaxx and super vocal about it on social media, and you can’t play in Germany and you can’t travel any more if you don’t have the first two covid jabs.

But he’s also fecking shite, so there’s always that

Important to also note that before last season, his previous 3 seasons for Wolfsburg were 18 goals, 20 goals and 25 goals. Which isn't bad at all. He can be good if used correctly. Not a starter, but a hard working, target man impact sub for sure.
