Is he cup tied for any of the cup comps we are in?

The muppetry is at an all time high in this thread. The only thing missing is 1000 odd pages.

Forlan was a good player who had a poor start in England. Perhaps we shouldn't judge Weghorst on his Burnley record.

 What's the correlation between Weghorst and Forlan? "Forlan was a good player who had a poor star in England. Perhaps we shouldn't judge" that's a statement that could apply to any player anywhere at any time. Makes no sense. Even more so because players can only be judged on existing evidence, and no judgement of Weghorst was actually made. I said 2 in 20 is crazy because it's a really poor record. I didn't say he's shit or that he couldn't do a job elsewhere.

That's not the loan fee. We pay 3m to Besiktas, where he was on loan, to convince them to give him back to Burnley, then we loan him from Burnley, for an unknown fee.

The 3 mill is compensation to Besiktas, they have already paid Burnley for the season, why do we have to pay them as well?

6'6 this lad

Can't wait to see the likes of Shaw, Dalot, Eriksen, Bruno, Antony and Casemiro pinging him long balls and crosses into the box

This is how it should be. He's a red so fans should be enthusiastic! Get behind, make him feel loved. Not groaning and moaning online so he sees that shit.

Go on Bratwurst

As long as they do it sensibly and don't forget the basics of building attacks when he's on!

I remember when Fellaini would come on and the concept of passing the ball on the floor would just evaporate! Everyone on the pitch just reverted to route 1

Seems a really passionate character like we have seen already from Casemiro and of course Licha

I think it’s crazy to suggest we are suddenly going to go long ball. It’s an option late in the game, sure, but Weghorst would actually prefer the ball in to feet and possess good movement and link up play.

It’s very lazy to think big man go long. Nor is it what EtH will do.

It's fun to get a player like this. Not a big star, offers something very different to what we have, keen to play for us as it's a great opportunity for him. I'm looking forward to seeing how he fits in.

Lets stop this myth, Chris Wood had no problems scoring nearly one every two games for them

Wood's Burnley record is slightly worse than 1 in 3, which is around his career stat.

Weghorst's record is closer to 1 in 2.5.

The guy singlehandedly knocked Messi and Argentina out. $3m could be a steal.

Well said Penna.

He is statistically very hard working, will be playing to make this permanent and has scored goals in a number of different leagues including more recently at the WC.

What intrigues me the most is the pressing and interception ability. He will create chances by simply helping to win the ball back higher up the pitch. This will in turn help us not only going forward but to defend from the front.

It’s good to have such a unique, different option. That’s not even touching on his physical presence which we do often lack.
