A no.9 who's big, strong, comfortable on the ball and actually works really hard on the pitch? Well what more can I ask for? (Goals of course, but this is about as good as it gets from a Jan loan signing)

Cheap loan option that can press and give ETH a different style up front, no issues with the move.

Everyone thinks its because United is broke but thats only half of the story. I bet if you looked at Ten Haags transfer priorities it was less like Gakpo, Felix, Depay and more like Mitrovic, Goncalo Ramos, Giroud, Wout. In other words a proper number 9 at a reasonable price that can come in and hit the ground running. They cant have a few months to adjust to the prem. Arunatovic was obviously who he was looking for until the fans went nuts. Reasonable fee rules out the likes of Mitrovic and Ramos. If they were available for 40 mill I bet we would have found the money from somewhere. Ramos would be a risk because he is young and would take time to settle. Giroud would have been an option but I doubt he would come. Who else could we possibly get thats a proper number 9?

Now I think people will be surprised by Wout. Sure he is no Haaland/Mbappe level striker. But you have to think why Ten Haag wants him or at least a proper number 9. It suits the style of football he wants to play. I suspect it will help Antony and you will see more crosses from him. Also the chemistry between Antony and Martial is not there. I think Antony will suit linking with him more than Martial because Martial although I think is great doesnt have that physicality. I also think the midfielders - Bruno, Eriksen, Casemiro will also benefit because the big guy will be setting the defence deeper allowing the space just outside the box.

Thats just my armchair theory. Lets just see how it turns out. Nothing to loose from this loan

I think you need to also factor in the guys character. By all accounts he is confident and hard working. He will be desperate to prove he is worth more than just a 6 month loan and so at the very least we will get a good professional that is really dying to play for us. Considering some of the chancers we have had here over the years - I’m happy with this type of transfer.

Martinez was going to shake his hand and then Aguero came in there to fight. Lisandro Martinez and Lautaro Martinez were the only two Argentines that were willing too.

Messi refused and called Wout a fool.
Something about Lautaro just rubs me the wrong way. So glad we steered clear of him.

Very happy we have some more squad depth in that position. Martial can now have a breather and also some competition at last.

20 games, 2 goals, but tell me how "he has premier league experience"

2 in 20 is crazy. Was he playing CB for Burnley or something?
