Wout Weghorst

You have to blind if you can't see they are both better.

You have to be blind too if you can’t see that Weghorst offers something absolutely different than those two.

It’s not all about numbers either.

Someone's tampered with his Wikipedia page. 345 goals in 20 games for Burnley .

So the big feckers actually scored close to 20 goals in every season he has played.

Except at burnley. But who the feck scores goals at burnley? Nobody. Even messi would struggle to reach double figures with that lot.

Imagine complaining about this transfer then suggesting Ings and Iheanacho
Danny Ings is out injured more than Martial is, we need someone who can play on the pitch not in the hospital ward!

This. It was fecking Burnley.

they’re not better, that’s the thing

Haha, what exactly do you base that on?

In the Premier League they have scored 4x the rate of Weghorst.

Danny Ings' has scored 25 goals off of an xG of 21 in the last 2 1/2 seasons.

Iheanacho has scored 17 goals off of an xG of 13.2 in the last 2 1/2 seasons.

Weghorst scored 2 goals off of a xG of 5 for Burnley in the Premier League.

Weghorst's barely outscored his xG in the Bundesliga, scoring 59 goals off of an xG of 57.

Look at how many strikers from the Bundesliga came to the Premier League and struggled.

Why do we have so many fans who seem think we have unlimited funds? (who also complain about the Glazers at the same time)

Some people are challenged in the old IQ department.

You only need look at any Mitrovic thread over the summer, plenty of posters turning their noses up at him despite him scoring 40 goals last season.

Would be great to have a striker at the club who works hard and has the ability to cause the opposition problems. WW sounds like he can do just that. Added bonus we won't be stick with him on high wages long contract if he doesn't work out...unlike about 10 other players in our squad from Henderson to Williams to Maguire, DVB, Telles, Jones, Bailey and on and on.

Nobody's first choice, hopefully that happens in the summer.

In terms of rumours this one's right up there with the Arnaunovich one.

So you don’t have anything solid to go on. Sounds about right.

We're in 2023 and there's still people on this board who are more obsessed with danny fecking ings than his own missus.

Its proper weird.

If the criteria is for someone to sit on the bench and not make any fuss! Then fans need to lower their expectations for January.

Does not have to do with the league. Wolfsburg was fighting for CL in the seasons Weghorst played there - not for relegation. Different tasks - different players. Lewy often underperformed his xG, too.

His technique and finishing is better than Thuram's

You already have players with similar qualities like Thuram...

I'm okay with this only because it keeps Rashford on the left where he thrives after Martial's inevitable injury keeps him out for several games.

Not exactly a rumour when it's being reported by Tier 1 journo's - this is as legit as it gets. We want him.

I don't know if it'll work or not but I trust ETH, and we're pretty short upfront so why not? Hopefully we can get Felix over the line too, who knows.

I think he'll be a flop, he's too limited in my opinion but we'll see i suppose.

Hope Eric makes it work.

Looks a good loan signing.

Gives us something we don't have, a physical and aerial presence upfront. Something that ETH has been asking for since he arrived.
Exactly. Felix, talented as he is, will just add depth because he is similiar to all our attacking players but Weghorst is a different story.

Well, I think it will work, but our wingers have to provide him crosses, like you've seen in the World Cup. He can't do anything if, for example, Antony always plays it safe and is reluctant to cross, like in yesterday's match.

He's a loan signing to tide us over until the summer. It's very hard to "flop" against the low expectations that entails.

I don't know what more can people expect knowing that we have literally no money to spend. He has good goal scoring record during his entire career except Burnley but seriously, who the feck scores goals at Burnley? We hardly have any choices considering the situation.

Yea honestly glad we're going for Wout.

We have a proven goal scorer who is built for the prem. Someone to push Martial as well.

Great loan signing and won't cost much either. If he works out we can sign him for 10m euros. Bargain.

Definitely , I'm sure Eric is working on that, he liked utilizing crosses into the box in his time at Ajax i belive.

Obviously depends how high your expectations are na do be honest mije are kinda high(even though it probably shouldn't be).
