still gets no respect
Conte really wants it doesn’t he
People overlook City/Liverpool barely giving up anything to anyone at the back.Even our best attacking sides, 99 & 08, were full of hardworkers who ran up and down the pitch all day long helping out at both end. You can be an attacking side without having 4 lazy players not helping out at the back.
We aren’t built for high press but I don’t see why a good manager couldn’t make us better in possession. The fact is that while I’m not the biggest fan of pure possession football it’s proven to be the most effective football system for winning trophies time and time again. In different forms, City, Barca, Bayern, Chelsea have all had significant success by dominating the ball and controlling games through having the ball. We have some incredibly talented players particularly on the ball but they are made to look far worse than they are in our frantic style. Someone like Conte might come in and do pragmatism well, but if Ten Hag works he would make us one of the footballing elite for years to come. That's what I think but several of my fellow fans seem to see a Barcelona-like team(I'm exaggerating) which is baffling. We don't have the ideal squad for a possession manager, it wouldn't be impossible but not ideal.
New squad needed then…why did conte sell matic? Was it his choice?Matic has worked with him:
“He is crazy about football. He works 24 hours a day, analysing his players and opponents to the fullest. Tactically speaking he is certainly one of the best in the world. His teams need to run at the same tempo for 95 minutes, he is a professional and one of the best in the world. He will do great things for Inter, I am sure of it.”
Conte is way more attacking then Tuchel anyway. Stereotyping because of Italian vs German though. It is very strange that so many people in this forum love Tuchel but they are afraid of Conte! These two are very similar.
I mean, it kinda can get worse. You lose your next 2 and even getting that 4th spot will start to feel nervy. You don’t want to be double digit points behind each of the top 3. Leicester are starting to kick into gear as well.I think Conte will ask to wait until the international break to take control while he assesses the squad. We have an interim for a few games. Again the season can't really get worse so losing to city is probably expected anyways.
No he wanted to keep him. Chelsea board sold him and bought the younger Bakayoko which was a mistake.New squad needed then…why did conte sell matic? Was it his choice?

They may be similar in that they’re both excellent tactically, but they’re nothing alike personality wise.It is very strange that so many people in this forum love Tuchel but they are afraid of Conte! These two are very similar.
Bruno is a hard worker and a great player. The season is long. He'd pretty much rotate 343 and 352 I'm sure - and in either case Bruno can adapt to being a #8 which he's done in the past (and compete with Pogba) or the #10 in a 352. In which case we play 2 attackers and likely leave out Sancho. Competition for places is good. In this case, we have Bruno and Pogba fighting for a spot, Bruno and Sancho, Sancho and Rashford and Greenwood, Ronaldo/Cavani rotating, etc. The players who fit best and work best for Conte would be picked. Why does it matter who? There's no way that everybody can fit in anyway, we need a manager who will make it work however which way and not give in to big names unbalancing the team by shoe horning them where they don't belong.3 forwards sure in 2017 but he's been playing with 2 strikers lately?
Lets say he does go with the 343 from Chelsea that leaves Bruno in the shit as well
I mean pedantically speaking, Moyes and Ole were still at their respective old clubs when we decided to poach them. LVG was still the Holland NT coach too IIRC.Why do we always go for out of contract managers only? We'll be in the same position with Conte as we were with Mou in 2 years time.
Bruno plays far too high up. Maybe that's what we need who knows?3 forwards sure in 2017 but he's been playing with 2 strikers lately?

I don’t want to pick on you specifically, because I’ve seen it posted on basically every page, but Conte was the one that signed Pogba at Juve and it’s well known that they have a good relationship.
It’s almost as annoying as the “he will guarantee us a title” talk.
This man takes no prisoners ! For this reason i cant see the glazes employing him, i hope we do though as it will be funny to watch himI hope he comes in and rips the Glazers a new one, the crazy Italian bastard.
When have we signed the absolute best players in their peak? The only one would be Di Maria.Re: the bolded part, isn't that exactly what we've been doing?
How do we even line up with Conte as manager? Just doesn't seem to really fit, especially mid season.
This season or next? Why do people think changing managers is like changing the person behind the controller and expect instant resultsOnly thing I'd take solace in is that Conte could 100% win us the league with this current squad.
It's going to be Jose all over again. Shite football, falling out with players, falling out with the manager. Signing a bunch of 30 year olds to play 5 at the back, probably sign Lukaku again for £70m once Chelsea bench him.
Sigh. We're never going to build anything with the Glazers in charge. It's all about the money for them, they have no clue how to really run a modern football club. I bet we don't win the league anytime in the next ten years.
I mean ask yourself, how much do the Glazers, or Woodward watch football? What do they know about tactics, coaching, building squads? Nothing. Why should they get to chose managers? Look at Brentford, Brighton - their owners made their bones in sports betting, they know how to analyse, use data, see what works in sports. Our guys know how to do leveraged buy outs and milk money from them club, that's it.
Fits pretty easily tbh.How do we even line up with Conte as manager? Just doesn't seem to really fit, especially mid season.

Exactly, Simeone, Conte, Allegri, in his prime Mourinho. All very successful managers. All their success built on rock solid defences. You cant lose if you dont conceed. For all the complaints about defence, that is what wins you titles.
He’s definitely not averse to dropping a winger into those wing back roles. He’s done it with Candreva and Moses just off the top of my head. Hes also played Darmian there regularly for Inter and Italy, so there’s no reason why AWB couldn’t work despite his obvious limitations. My guess is he would play either a 433 or a diamond to start (it's fairly commonly used in Serie A, so I'm sure it's a set up he's familiar with).
With a view to switching to a back 5 after a transfer window or two. We would certainly need a couple of specialist wing backs. I wonder if there are even any quality wing backs who would be available in January, or if we'd have to wait until summer. If we had got him in the summer we might have had a chance at signing Hakimi who would be perfect...
