OMG please tell me this is BS,actually course it's not because a bunch of clowns are making football decisions.

This tweet has absolutely convinced me that Woody has zero intention of ever sacking him and that's depressing.

Deary me thats the lesson they're taking from this all?? :wenger:

They had no problem firing the managers who actually had a set play style and identity yet now are against firing one without due to a lack of it?

The hire and fire cycle has quite literally become the norm amongst the best teams in Europe over the last decade plus and they still manage to remain elite and win things regardless.

Something we won't be aspiring to achieve under the dunces at the top

Better to stick with a manager who's teams have no identity, other than not turning up until the 70th minute, than dare risk losing the non-identity.

Yeah that whole article makes me sad

This cant be true. Is this an official statement from our club? They can't be this fecking stupid.

I can't be emotionally all over the place because of a club that is run by people who should be in an asylum.

Copying from another thread:

I blame Ole’s idiotic tactics for both of the first two goals. In both cases defenders didn’t know where they didn’t to be and the wide man wasn’t picked up. They also didn’t know who was supposed to be pressuring the ball on the first goal.

Every fecking game he lines them up in some new, contrived formation, often when they’re playing weaker opposition, and then obvious changes are made at halftime and they have to claw their way back into the match - usually relying on Bruno’s individual brilliance.

It’s a testament to the talent In the squad that they’re able to come back and win so many league games despite him setting them up for failure at the outset.

It’s all becoming awfully tiresome and frustrating. Then again, it is laughable that we’re so high in the league table despite all of this.

Well this just about sums up what is wrong with how the club is run, the board are clearly willing to accept mediocrity for many years rather than grow a set of balls by actually doing the right thing and sacking him

He's clearly improved the squad and style of play. The club is heading in the right direction.

Sacking Ole would set the club back another 2-3 years

I struggle to see what OGS actually brings to the club, he is very nice and polite, says all the right things but is he actually managing the team and coaching them? It seems to me he just sends out the players and says try your best, I cant actually see a style of play, any tactics as such.
Players seem to pop up anywhere on the pitch without any proper instructions, there doesn't seem to be any cohesion in our play, we rely on individual brilliance to pull us through, without Bruno we would be bottom half without a doubt.

Our defence is all over the place, midfield mostly static, forwards look lost most of the time but for 20 or 30 minutes we look very capable, the rest of the time an utter shambles.
We really need someone who can coach these players to get them playing as a solid unit who understand there roles, I dont think OGS is that man.

It is what I expected. Ole has put himself in a situation where simple-minded individuals sees that there is a chance that he can still win the league or accomplish something significant with this team. If we had a better manager, we wouldhave gone through this group. Our lost to psg and rb Leipzig just confirm to me what I already know that Ole is holding us back and even though we are fortunate to be where we are, our football is not as good as the football produced by well managed team. The biggest false dawn is keeping Ole longer than he should be kept because he isn't a good a manager as Moyes. He just has a much better team.

What's interesting is that % of votes IN/OUT doesn't change. Ole is clearly not the one to take us to another level. Just not happening. And people still feel that he needs more time. Why? How long? Another year? Two? Do we seriously believe that in 12 months we will be first in the league? In 30 moths we will be in semi final of CL? He is clueless at this level.

Agreed.

Will give you that he has somewhat improved the squad but the style of play is just relying on individual briiliance from someone or failing that relying on Bruno to save his job yet again as he has done numerous times since February.

Yeah totally agree and he knows that his job is safe as houses because they know full well he won't ever rock the boat which might then force them into making a decision as we saw with Jose around this time in 2018.

So Ole will be judged on title charge? People who are for Ole, is that the minimum requirement that Ole has to fulfill?

We've been very lucky in the prem lately. Both with some of the comebacks and with some other teams faltering like city and pool. The day of reckoning will come in the prem as it has in the UCL.

Our board is the death of this club

Useless owners, useless ceo/board, useless management/coaches and several useless players.

Its not hard to see why we are winning jack shit any time soon.

As long as we make money though.

i agree but he needs to get us top 4 again this year and keep building. Adding a few quality starting standard players next summer would represent another step forward. Replace Matic 2 years later and go all in on Haaland. The narrative could have been so different this year. Sign sancho. Pogba stays. Firmly in the top 4. Everyone’s happy. The board mess everything up and everyone is trigger happy as hell. If the last few years has shown me anything it’s that changing styles every few years is a sure fire way to waste a billion quid on winning the EL

So am I to believe that if we lose to City at home immediately after royally fecking up our CL group, Ole is just fine to carry on. I have never known a manager to be so fortunate. Its a joke.

Don't we have Leeds soon also? Imagine losing that also.

Of course he can win both games but I honestly believe his luck is running out.

Haaland can feck right off unless he changes his agent

It's actually saddening to see this. I don't know if they're trying to appease the fanbase with the promise of some 'master plan', or is it just a lack of courage to make the decision.

Get Pochettino in asap so we can actually get back to competing for trophies again. Sad thing is this argument of switching between managers leaving us with imbalanced squads wouldn't really apply to Pochettino, the composition and style of this squad is similar to what he had at Spurs (out and out no. 10, attacking inside forwards and one central striker, support full backs and holding midfielders, 4 at the back).

It's not as if we're going to hire Conte or Nuno and have to reshape the whole squad to a completely different style. Smells like Woodward and co. are trying to front up and save face, knowing they've gotten it horribly wrong again.

Sacking mid season is never the solution. There aren't any decent managers available mid season (except poch).

Im ole in, but if we fail to get top 4 then we should reconsider our options. If after the said reconsideration ole is not sacked then he needs to be supported in the summer transfer window.

Yeah money is all this board ever gives a shit about hence that article on keeping faith in Ole, he is the perfect way for the club to save money again and not have to pay out a sacking compensation. Totally agree with you about there being some useless players in the squad but just wanted to get your views on who exactly you have in mind.

Poch won't be available for long. If we fail to get top 4 and not a single good manager is available then we will be back to where we were when we sacked Jose.

Ole hasn't done terribly but despite being job for almost 2 years, and spending a fortune on new recruits, we are still no closer to an answer whether he can take us forward or not.
