Here goes, He isn’t and never will be good enough to take this team to the next level. it's never going to happen, ever.

For some reason we have too many fans who can’t see the forest for the trees.
They think that because we win a fair amount of games then Ole must be good. They can’t seem to comprehend that winning 10 away in a row to the likes of Brighton, Newcastle and West Ham isn’t actually what defines you as a top manager especially if you scrounge through most of those games.

We have very good players, and most of the time very good football players will overcome inferior football players because of their individual quality. This is how football mostly works, how this is lost on so many United fans is baffling. This is why Tim Sherwood led Tottenham to 5th place. That is why Avram Grant came 2nd and got to a CL final.

Where we constantly fall short are the crunch games, our tactics and style of play. This is where a top manager makes the difference.
We have basically lost every single one of these under Ole, bar the giant fluke in Paris.
It’s where that 5% can make a difference, being able to identify an opposition weakness, setting your team up properly, making that defining change/sub etc.

Everyone knows we have no identifiable style of play and lack cohesion defensively and going forward, which is why we look poor even against rubbish sides. This is something the top coaches do not struggle with to the degree Ole has.

People will talk about not being backed in the summer but in all honesty I’m glad he wasn’t backed. He spent 150 million on James, Maguire and Bissaka. The lack of development and improvement in Wan Bissakas game from someone who just tackles well is really telling. He is the exact same player he was 14 months ago except he’s worse positionally.
James and Maguire haven’t improved either and actually all three appear to be digressing and are three of the most criticised players on here and by other fans yet half the people on here will tell you his signings have been astute.

Meanwhile Jurgen Klopp is turning Hull players into Robert Carlos. Guardiola tends to improve most attacking players although falls short on the defensive ones.
Then you’ve got Mourinho who is sharply turning Spurs into his ideal team and Lampard now has a much better squad to work with.
This is the level and standard we’re up against, and we’re going up against it with Ole, Phelan, Carrick and McKenna who can’t tell between their arses and elbows.
Three of the greatest managers ever and this is our answer. This is not a fight we’re going to win if we tool up in this way.
Couldn't have said it better myself.

But it’s been obvious for so damn long that this appointment wasn’t going to work out. God knows why it’s taken until now for some to realise it. And still so many to not see it yet. I despair.

Imagine he were the one manages RB Leipzig, probably relegated them. A thoroughly mediocre manager. Manchester United is truly cursed with this guy, forever languishing in mediocrity.

I mean for the most part it is quite damning for our fanbase. For 26 years, this fanbase got to witness what a supremely talented manager/coach can do at a club of our calibre. The conclusion half of our fanbase managed to reach at the end of that 26 years was that if you give any random bloke enough time, he'll becomes the next Alex Ferguson.

I wonder what Fergie genuinely thinks of it. Must be like Mozart putting on his greatest show, and then only finding out at the end that his audience was actually deaf.
Bravo

I give him until the owners go, then fire straight away. Changing him now won’t help us long term

He made the decision to play Matic, McTominay and Shaw before the West Ham game and stuck with it even after what happened in the West Ham game

Went with 7 defenders after saying they weren't going there for a draw.

He is woefully clueless as a tactician and relies on individual brillance. This is why we go down 3-0 to West Ham and 2-0 to Southampton and he needs Bruno and Cavani with super sub performances to bail him out. And he almost got bailed out again yesterday. It's why we lost to Istanbul which is the real reason we are out. Win that and we would have been on 12 points and Leipzig would have had to beat us 6-0 to advance.

He needs to go if we want any chance at top 4. Would also tell whoever replaces him to focus on the league and play the kids in Europa.

How on earth do you reach this conclusion ?? Appointing a world class manager and getting us on a winning streak of silverware, for example, wouldn’t possibly help long term?

Zero logic.

If and when he is sacked he needs to do away with the nice guy schtick for a while and be open about how the board took his legs from under him this summer. The Lampard comparison is an obvious one and he should make it.
In the sense that Ole wanted Sancho who Dortmund insisted would cost £120m and couldn’t think of any other, immediate ,alternative for RW. While Lampard signed a RW for £30m whose made an immediate impact?

Can’t see why Ole would make a comparison that reflects negatively on himself

We will always be a nearly team under Ole. He has his ceiling and this is his ceiling. He has done a fair job so far and I will look at it fondly but any ambitious club would have let him go.

I have defended him a lot and I will still defend him when someone abuses him. But as a manager he is tactically naive. The defensive goals we are conceding should not be happening. I don't think we can ever win a major trophy under him and I will love to be proven wrong.

Theres Ole in votes that have been dormant since March and loads from around then as I had a quick look who knows if i dig deeper....

I think we should reset the votes if possible?

This.

I am in the same boat where I do not think he is the man to take us to the title or CL finals. I don't mind people questioning his tactics / selections or footballing issues.

Once they start forming a narrative that isn't reflective, I will still defend him, does not make me Ole in.

We have to respect him still as a manager, calling him names will do nothing.

As long as he is manager we still have to support the team.

At the end of the day, if Ed Woodward sacked him and replaced him, I do not think many fans would question it, we know to start competing in big competitions we need someone better.

Ole has done his job, came in steadied the ship and its time to get a captain who can win trophies.

Spurs swapped the guy the Cafe desperately wants for Jose, so what does that say about him?

If Solskjaer finishes in the top-four for four consecutive seasons and reaches a CL final in the process, some Ole-in fans would like him to be given a contract for life at United. Perhaps Poch should go to a no-man's league and win a couple of titles no one cares about in order to meet the lofty standards some of our fans have set for the manager.

Just take a look at what Zidane has achieved as a footballer and club manager. He really is in a different galaxy compared to Ole, yet the Frenchman is to prove his worth every single game. That is what it means and takes to be a manager of a top football club.

I get the criticism of playing Williams and subbing two left backs. Don’t know what that was all about. But to sub on mensah and tuanzebe, while trying to push everything else up front? I don’t think you have to be a rocket scientist to understand why. And it was one keepers leg from working. A few posters on here showing their true colours and levels at the moment.

Mensah almost single handedly killed our momentum by not being able to control a football. Very shrewd business indeed

Exactly - quite frustrated with our standards being so damn low.

Mate in only honest. Us fans are to blame... you think Real Madrid fans would stand for this if Steve McManaman was in charge. I say McManaman because he isn’t Raul level legend.

It comes with the board. If Ole is to be sacked today many will understand that decision but our board is not ambitious. We continue to dither and waste season after season. I will be hugely surprised if this board sacks Ole any time this season.

You know what the best thing about Zidane is? When they put the microphone in front of his face and asked him what will happen if they fail to qualify and their season goes down the drain by the end of the calendar year, he simply answered: "The board will do the right thing". No talk about processes, philosophies and culture. But then again, you can't get away with these things in Madrid.

Fans cannot sack the manager. Who is stopping the board to sack him.

Fans can sack the manager we are just so divided the board are happy to go with what suits them. You have to make them uncomfortable and we never do. We are too divided.

Why do you need a reset poll to show lots of fans are angry with losing last night. Were you asking for a reset back in July?

Yes I agree our fans are divided but still you have to wonder what does this board want. Because it doesn't look like winning a league or CL is their priority.

I’ll play devils advocate (I’m Ole out), so let’s say it’s the owners (which they do share a big part of the problem don’t get me wrong), and they’re not going anywhere. What’s the solution? Don’t you think that our team is better than this? Don’t you this team is better than Rb Leipzig? Shouldn’t we expect the team to play for 90 minutes and not 30-40 minutes, is it acceptable to be behind and try to catch up and come back (sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t), should we not be interested in better performances? Who does all that fall on? If not Ole then who? You can’t say the players, because as a coach/manager you demand/coach players to perform better, to work hard, to give them tactics to follow, to select the correct starting eleven, to better them.. we can’t say all these players are subpar, especially when we compare them to the likes of RB, Crystal palace, Brighton, Istanbul, Southampton, etc..

and that’s not even taking into account that how we go in a lot of matches as the underdogs, and set up to counter, without stamping our authority on the match..

I’m genuinely interested in your response (and Ole in in general), obviously we all want our team to be good and win trophies, I just don’t see how that will happen with Ole, and since the owners aren’t going anywhere..

I just think enough is enough, Ole have done good things as well, but we’re simply above his level, and nothing wrong with that..

We still don’t have a starting quality CF after lukaku (2 seasons ago) RW (7 years) or DM (keeping Matic going until he completely stops by the looks of it) that’s still 1/4 of our starters in the first team. We can’t play like a very good side when our attack is based around give it to Bruno and Rashford and see what they do. It’s predictable. Ole wanted a starting quality international winger. No dice. That would have helped. How can we have cohesion when we always have the wrong players or players not up for it. It’s not like Pogba and martial were going to turn around this season and turn into consistent players or Mr Utd. It was never going to happen. Shoddy leadership for years at the very top has got us to this point. Changing manager so often only makes it worse. Ole is slowly improving the squad, slower than it should be. We were still way overpaying for the last few years and stuck in the EL or going out of the CL early before Ole got here. Give him till the end of the season at least. As I said. Coaching is easily fixed. A rebuild is massive. The owners need a manager who’ll hopefully remain calm and show them where they are going wrong instead of making more negative headlines. Ole has friends on the board. It’s a work in progress. We are in inconsistent because we are relying on very young or very old players to win big things for us. Who’s in their prime? Pogba, Martial and DDG. All underperforming or not really wanting to be here. Is that Oles fault too? It’s on the owners. We can’t match the best teams because we don’t even have a complete team. Leipzig show can have a complete team for peanuts if you’re recruitment is strong. That’s where we’ve been falling down post Fergie, signing expensive arseholes who care more about money and their image than their game. I’m telling you as much of a downer as Jose was, he was right.

We know what they want money. But like many have said, they don’t know anything about football and they are in charge of footballing decision. Which is where a DoF comes into play.

They believe Ole is good enough they also believe in his targets. Where the fans get the blame is we too well 50% of us. You included believe Ole is good enough.. so with there lack of footballing knowledge why do you expect them not to believe the Ole in crowd and continue this project?

This is my post. Don't know where you think I said he is good enough. So you are saying board will listen to Ole inners but not to Ole outers. What a weird logic of defending the board.

chelsea spent 300 million and aren’t running away with it. It’s not actually a guarantee of anything anymore. The organisation has been so broken that it took 300 million just to get us back to challenging for top 4. We need a proper team to kick on. Long term center forward, a dm with legs, a fecking right winger. Any manager would fail without these ingredients. Ole is succeeding despite all these handicaps and I feel he would do a lot better with real quality in those positions. What other top club has no competition for places? Rashford and martial have to start every game even when they are clearly out of form. A serious club would be finding solutions to these problems but here we are with the same old problems years later.
This nonsense, we were second few months before he took over. Spending 300m to repair a team that were second few months ago.

Some Ole inners remind me of those holier than thou Christians. They think they are the only ones that knows what it means to be a true Christian and are on the right path and their faith will soon be rewarded

I find it funny when I see people saying it is because of fans Ole is still in charge. Well if fans had so much power , glazers and Woodward would have long gone.

Our club is a business first then a football club for them and hence Ole will remain till something drastically changes.

Would love to see some stats on individual player errors. We seem to make several each game and they cost us goals. Granted we got blown away in first 20 mins then we dominated and where the better side. Had DDG had the balls to come off his line and wipe out Kluivert and get the ball the narrative today would be very different.

Though I think we need to move on from Ole I think maybe it’s worth waiting to see how the season pans out in the league, we can still have a great season potentially and I don’t think we would gain much this season by firing him.

If we fail to challenge or at least make the top 4 then it’s a clear cut decision.

I give him until the owners go, then fire straight away. Changing him now won’t help us long term

You're right of course, but people will love to kid themselves that'll it'll all be different this time.

The Glazers are the root cause of course, but for now whilst Woodward stays, then Ole might as well just continue as he is doing, yes we're probably not going anywhere with him, but we haven't really been since before SAF left, and at least watching some of the games is entertaining at times with Ole, so unless it unravels rapidily I'm happy enough to stick with him.

'Points since Bruno joined' is genuinely one of the most hilarious metrics I've ever seen, for anything, ever.

Lads, we won the 'most points since Bruno joined' league. Take that Liverpool with your irrelevant PL title and hipster manager. Just listen to yourselves ffs, the excuses are embarrassing.
 Yes its the lets clutch at any straw brigade. We won the most throw ins, were 2nd highest in goal kicks they will be coming out with next.

The sense of entitlement among a significant proportion of our fans is incredible. I can only imagine that football just makes them angry and sad.

Despite the recurring blips in form, defensive calamities, and rotten results, I have had far more fun watching Ole’s Utd than any since SAF (and some periods during SAF’s time as well).

It’s disappointing not to get out of the group but even SAF failed to get out of the group three times. We won it twice of course but we lost a fair few games to teams worse than PSG and Leipzig. This manager and these players can improve and can build challenges like we did under SAF. Some can’t be bothered to wait but I can.

Forget Bruno then, just look at the last consecutive 24 league games since the end of the January transfer window. The form over 0.63 of a season. United are top of that table. Keep it going and we probably win the league. Cheer up if you can.
