I didn't read the thread. Are we melting down over subbing out the player that is the reason Southampton went up 1-0 and had a crappy game overall minus a few good moments, for Fred who has been one of the best players all season, instrumental in our run of form before the lockdown? That Fred?
What the Caf complains about:
Strong first 11, but the rest are bad, need better backup players.
Bruno and Pogba needs to rest.
Bruno and/or Pogba being taken off cause they need to rest.
Matic is super old and can't play every game.
The other midfielders aren't good enough.
The other midfielders aren't DMF.

Aparantly it's Ole's fault that the previous managers didn't leave him better squad options, and that Ed didn't give him 14 new players since our rotation/backup players are Macclesfield level.
He was clear that it was a 3 year project when he got the job, repeated that in the podcast recently.
We're moving in the right direction, and quicker than i expected. Relax guys, you're being ridicolously dramatic.
Southampton is also one of the in form teams, this was always going to be one of the toughest of the remaining matches.
For the short memory people, SAF also lost games we shouldn't have lost, or drawn.
By the way, there's no reason to believe Poch would have done better with the squad Ole got.

I wanted him out, but credit where it's due, he turned things around brilliantly. Not only results-wise, but the players also improved under him, which is not something we can say often as Manchester United fans.

It’s ridiculous posts like this which kinda proves that whatever Ole does or how much he fails it’ll be fine with the fans.
It’s not about just last nights game where we got played by an inferior team it’s more the season as a whole which could leave us without Champions League , again. Which got LVG sacked, Moyes, Jose. Do I want those back? No.
Should Ole be held to the same standards? Yes.
We haven’t been good enough over the season and we need to think if we can improve as a club with new players & potentially a new manager.

We all support United. If you think rationally talking about a performance where we were inferior to a lower league team & a season where we may not make top 4 is ‘crying’ then so be it. On the same token we may as well not talk about the wins either.
Good post. Also it took SAF three years to get the squad he wanted, Ole has been here how long? SAF also made quite a few errors in his first years, but ultimately look what happened! That is because we stuck with the man, not cast him aside as soon as things got a bit rough. Ole has things to learn, we all know that, but so did SAF, and he did learn.
Despite the good run (which I’ve given Ole credit for) we are still not in 4th. What does that tell you about the rest of the season? That it’s been awful Is the answer.

Yes we were outplayed for a fair bit of the game, but I can only remember one save that De Gea made, the one shot that Redmond put wide, and I think we dealt with every dead ball situation in our box well, apart from the last one. Martial had two other good opportunities to score, and Rashford was also denied close to goal. Neither Bruno or Greenwood were in the game a lot, AWB was not great, but we still could and should have won the game. Always been Ole in, and seen nothing to change my mind.
I think you're right. However I was basing that post on my opinion regarding how things should be done. If Ole fails to make it to CL qualification then, at the very least, we should hire someone experience above him to make sure he'll help him + he'll limit any mistakes that may be made by the guy. It can't be business as usual, especially not after we spent so much money only to end up outside the CL zone.
This is not an objective or balanced response to the reality of the situation this season.
The evidence of the past 7 months is that we are on an upward trajectory and becoming a better team who are looking more likely to challenge for a title than any time since Fergie left.
With the right recruitment to bolster the squad I believe we'll be better again next year.
People can say Jose came second but it was a very distant second and was never a title challenge.

Absolutely on spot.
It's not really the same standards though is it. Moyes, LvG and Mou were all sacked for more than their league positions. All three had pretty much reportedly lost the confidence of the dressing room. Moyes' (and Woodward's) exploits in the market were just awful, LvG's were even worse, Mou's started well but then he went to war with himself and the club over a third CB. There's lots of other reasons but I'm sure you know them yourself.
None were sacked for league position alone. For what it's worth I think you'd be m,ad to sack Ole now especially given the fact that the players are clearly onside with him and committed to the project and as many have mentioned it's such a short summer there's no time for a new manager to settle in and finally the team has improved dramatically over the season. Will be interesting to see how you do in the prem and the EL.

We look like we can build a team to compete. However we no way look like a team good enough to win the league and we all know why we will come short.

Solskjaer should be off and sell everybody. Calm down. It was not a great result and no, Southampton or their manager didn't outclass us as some of you think. For a most part of a game we were better team. 18 games unbeaten run and some of you going full meltdown just because we draw a game?

It's more worrying if the players are commited and still end up bottling games like last night night routinely. Think of Arsenal under Wenger in the latter years, while he was well respected by the players there was something very wrong with their mentality when the pressure built up.
Let’s see how the remaining games go. If we make top 4, he stays. If we miss out on top 4 by a point or two because Chelsea and Leicester keep winning, he stays on the basis of our trajectory in the second half of the season. If, on the other hand, we have a mini-collapse, it will be time to part ways.

Yes but no one is bottling anything - you were unlucky not to score more last night, you were unlucky as Southampton should have been down to 10 men, you were unlucky to lose two left backs and have no more subs. I don't think United played badly yesterday, you were in control after the first 20 mins until you lost Williams, Southampton just didn't offer a threat and if it hadn't been for an unlucky clash of heads you'd have walked off 2-1 winners with everyone saying that even when you're not at your best you still manage to win. That's football though!
We definitely weren’t in control at any stage in my book & Southampton certainly looked a threat. A draw was a fair result & even if we had won it wouldn’t have been encouraging performance wise. I said the same after Bournemouth where despite winning 5-2 we looked shaky, careless & Bournemouth were cutting through us with ease.
To me it looks like individual talent is keeping us in the hunt for top 4, not due to extra points from great managerial tactical displays. I just don’t see it
