No, usually big team is transition dont but our problems started 7 years ago and not in 2019.

Don't give me that nonsense, Klopp took over a worse side than Ole and had them miles better in the same time Ole has taken to make us currently 8th. Could Liverpool fans not have argued that their problems started 26 years before Klopp took over in 1990?

Should Conte for example argue that Inter's problems started in 2011?

We finished 2nd in 2018, our fans need to stop banging on about 2013.

Ole isn't cleaning up the SAF, Moyes or LVG mess, he's cleaning up Mourinho's "mess" just like any manager does when he takes over from a sacked manager.

I knew about Carlos Queiroz, but wasn't aware who Steve McClaren was, and I doubt many United fans did either at the time. Without cheating I doubt many could name the Assistant Manager/No.2 at Liverpool, Burnley or Southampton never mind those doing a similar job for clubs making waves in the Championship.

I remember an article done on the official mag (I think) were they went in great lengths why United hired Mclaren. In his previous job he installed cameras at numerous points of the training ground and the stadium so they could pick up real time data and statistics from players. Now put that innovative mind and mix it to Sir Alex's enormous experience and it was a deadly mix. Ole should work viceversa. He's the inexperienced guy and he needs to surround himself with experience not yes men with the same ideology but less/equal experience.

Ole will be sacked if he fails to make top-four, or at least compete for that position, just like Moyes, LVG and Jose before him. Top-four being a mandatory requirement is pretty much the only constant of Woodwards reign as CEO.
As he should. We got half of Norway in here defending him and if it's not based purely on emotions I dont what they base their blind feith on. If i ran a business and one of my employees was my dad and he underperformed for over a year, i would have fired him. I wouldnt let emotions ruin my business. You have to be able to separate emotions and logic and if we use logic Ole should be fired on the spot. Its nothing personal, its just business.

I don't know what point your trying to make but youth players were regularly starting for us LvG last season. CBJ, McNair, Blackett all got a decent amount of minutes that season of obviously Rashford emerged that season.

The post your replying to is absolute nonsense LVG has done more for the youth than all of Moyes, Mourinho and Ole combined. Solskjaer is complete garbage of a coach, he's got one good aspect about his management and that's a counter attack unfortunately football is concluded with many other variables influencing a style of play.

The problem I have with Solskjaer is he brings absolutely nothing to the table, he's got no new ideas, no new impetus in his ability to think for himself, there will only ever be one SAF so why model yourself to replicate the man ? It's like me launching a book store at a bootfair sale and promising myself I'll suddenly turn into Jeff Bezos . We need an intelligent manager with his own ideas who can move the club forward. Not a legend of the game in his playing days but is dead furniture to our present circumstances.

He's not walking away from his compensation

Especially when he knows no other club in the top strata of football will have him after this. And by top strata I mean any first division league in Europe pretty much.

Even Molde have done far better without him and wouldn't take him back

He's basically asking us to come and get him at this point...

Really hope that Ed has been in touch with him already about taking over this summer because I could seriously see Citeh going after him if they go trophyless and Pep leaves as it's looking like at the moment

Honestly Solskjaer career is done in management if he can't turn it around. Sure a few Schools in the Manchester area could do with a PE teacher though.

Yeah it does sound like Pochettino is issuing a come and get me message, doesnt it. He can see the writing on our walls, I hope Ed has sounded him out about taking over in the summer. I have no idea what to think at present though, part of me does believe our club is stupid enough to give Ole and co another season after this regardless - hopefully money talks though and the unhappy sponsors/shareholders will tell Ed that 8-12th in the league is too embarrassing to tolerate.

Yea, seems like that way. Duncan Castle's said there's similarity to how Pochettino is going about getting the United job, like Jose did. Even Castle's saying Pochettino wants the job.

Seems inevitable really.

Who also had this to say apparently

Considering the freedom with give them I'd say most good coaches would be open to managing us.

Its only condescending if Im claiming to understand every piece of the puzzle. I'm not and I don't. My way of looking at this just makes the most sense to me and fits logically. You can't be feeling the same way when you have no better suggestion for why Ole is still manager other than the board are insane.

What fits logically is he’ll be sacked at end of season if/when he doesn’t qualify for Champions League. Moyes and LVG were both allowed to perform badly (although better than Ole) backed publicly, allowed to plan for next season but got the boot.

Yea he was saying on his podcast that Poch's people have been in touch with the club and believe they can convince the Glazers.

Probably been the most positive piece of news regarding the clubs future that we've had in months, it'd be a no brainer binning Ole for a Premier league proven manager who's known for developing talent and overachieving on a budget.

Sir Alex would give him his blessing as well as he's been a fan and mentor of his for years now

He did, he brought in Micky Phelan, not sure where he puts the cameras, probably best not to know

.... and half of Denmark and Sweden character assassinating him partly because he's Norwegian.

This is the main issue I have with this appointment. Overachieving with mid table Spurs would be the equivalent of underachieving with us, because we want to actually win silverware. Many people are assuming that at a bigger club with a (slightly) bigger budget, that he would automatically up his game. I think most people would agree that Spurs have been better than us in recent years, so what makes them think Poch can suddenly lift us above them?

Personally I think Nagelsmann is the closest to being the next Klopp/Pep, if I were to hand the keys to the club to someone it would be him, he is not only tactically astute but apparently a fantastic man manager. He believes that football management is 30% tactics 70% social skills. I would be very disappointed if we went for Poch, who will improve us a little bit over Ole, and then watched another club go for Nagelsmann and he turns them into a Liverpool/City. Maybe it would even be Spurs after Jose implodes again, for an even crueler joke.

Really cannot wait for Poch to get the job just to see him too fail and for all these Poch D**kriders to clamour for the next flavour of the month.

Can’t do much if you keep changing managers every two years.

Isn’t that what we slated Madrid/Chelsea for doing?

You can't wait for another manager to fail at the club huh? Are you a Liverpool or Citeh fan?

Poch is far from a 'flavor of the month' type candidate as you put it given his record in our very league unlike whatever other candidate you would qualify as a flavor of the month or hipster appointment...

Ferguson himself has been a fan of his for years now so I assume you think he's a 'dickrider' who doesn't know what he's talking about as well?

No, I just find it absolutely deplorable that many many MANY posters on here are hoping that Ole gets the sack, some even want us to lose on match days so the Ole sacking is closer.

Is THAT how far we’ve fallen as a club!?

We often in the past have ribbed Liverpool fans for holding on to their past success, but we’re in danger of doing that ourselves, if we keep chopping and changing managers

I find the love-in for Poch to be disgusting & for all Ole’s flaws I’m 100% behind him, there’s the beginnings of a great team there

our team is young, disjointed and inconsistent (due to injuries) so expect a bumpy road. But too many of us here are entitled (yes i said that) too many of us are too used to winning.

He gets rid of deadwood that many of us wanted and now THAT’S wrong.

MUFC simply cannot win in this place

Could ask the same to those who openly insult Ole and then hide behind the "I can separate between player and manager!" excuse.

I'd say you have a better chance of success if you regularly change coaches rather than hang on to someone who clearly isn't good enough.

Ole breaking negative records left right and center, sitting 8th behind Everton & Tottenham who have sacked their managers mid-season.

...yet this is the ''worst news in years''.

Damn you @Rolaholic

We all look at players at other clubs and think i'd love to see him at United, to a lesser degree with do it with Managers, and there's nothing Pochettino has done, or said in the last few years that makes me think he has what it takes to become a successful Manchester United Manager. Simple as that

If he get's the Gig somewhere down the line he'll get my full backing as has ever Manager since The Doc, well maybe not Mourinho, but if he did I wouldn't be surprised if those that called for the head of Moyes, LvG, Mourinho and now our Ledge will be doing exactly the same inside a year - sometimes it's better to stick with the Devil you know and Pray.

Solsjkaer has left himself open to insults by not walking from the job he is absolutely incapable of doing.

Why would he jump ship in the middle of the season just because things aren't going well? And leave it with Carrick? "Sorry lads, i'm in over my head here, toodles!" If he fails to reach objectives he will be evaluated at the end of the season and sacked, the only way he'd get the sack mid season is if we went completely off the rails and he loses the dressing room. Criticism for him is fine, but the constant insults i've seen directed at him, quite frankly i've never seen anything like that towards our hated rivals from Liverpool or City, rawk or bluemoon, ever.

Here's an idea though it will probably go over your head, maybe, just maybe Ole thinks he is capable of doing the job.
Yes it's over my head cause I am not thick nor live in cuckooland like Ole and his apologists.

Because he does a big spiel about being a legend and having our best interests in his heart. But fact is he is just another manager making his living by hanging on as long as possible to job he is not capable of doing.

I doubt Ole thinks there are no problems at United and everything is Tickety Boo, nor i'm guessing do any of those that still back him, and in the Real World you'd be surprised how many still do, but nice try at humour with Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Not sure i follow you here. Are you suggesting the state of the squad and the fact we have the 2nd biggest wage bill is one single persons fault and that all this happened overnight?

Here's an Ole supporter right here. Not a club supporter, just a very bizarre Ole supporter.

In your head you think that we "hate" Ole but no, we just want him sacked ASAP. Why? Because results clearly show that he is out of his depth, football is tumescent, man management is mediocre, and did I mention that we currently have the worst start in decades? We would all be absolutely delighted that Ole can turn things around and bring us back to glory but he isn't showing any signs of that, is he? So no, we don't hate Ole, we just want him replaced with a more experienced manager like Poch, who is currently the most available candidate, someone who we think has definitely has a better chance to turn things around. A common practice of any other successful football clubs.

And then now you come up with this gem. You would actually wish for our next manager to fail before he is even appointed and thus wishing failure on the club as well. It's safe to say you're not a United fan. You're either a WUM/rival fan or just someone who has a bizarre crush on Ole. I don't even know why are you so desperate for Ole and only Ole (someone who hasn't shown much signs of progress) to succeed, and at the same time wishing disaster on our potential next manager. If this isn't blatant bias favouring Ole, I don't know what this is. You need to seek some help, mate.
