Tick tock Ed...

Our current squad is not good enough to challenge for the title I feel. The initial giddiness of pre-season has settled and I feel it'll be a substantial challenge to achieve top four right now. Have not been overly impressed with us the last few games to be honest and I'm wary.

Up to Woodward now, deliver or we're fecked.
If Van Gaal still doesn't know after tonight what he's got in the way of a squad he never will.

Soon be time to get that aeroplane flying over OT again, with a different banner. :D

Yep.

Is anything going to happen before the weekend or are we looking at another week with absolutely nothing happening and just two weeks left to get some business done. It's surely getting to panic stations stage now.

I think Everton's CEO had point last year- after our last second attempt to sign Fellaini he complained about doing business late. Basically selling clubs are left with little time to find replacements, get charged inflated fees and that.

As i see Woodward he is a good businessman who knows how to play waiting game (i do that too!) and in many times it's an effective tactic. However he deals with people here- not life stock, components etc.

I take it you didn't understand what the smiley meant at the end of my sentence? I appreciate the effort you went to, to make your nice aeroplane and to request that I am banned, but you appear so far off understanding the satire of my post that I most certainly won't bring myself to explain.

A big fail from a Big Papi.

I have absolute faith that LVG will get the most out of our players. I think (with no ECL) we'll be serious contenders for the title...... BUT..... its Wednesday, the season starts Saturday..... I have to be honest I thought all transfer business would be done well before now. Any new players who come in now, and there's still plenty of big name potential, will have to adjust while the season is under way, and thats tough

I love the new system. I think it puts our best players in their best positions (Mata in behind TWO strikers, Rooney up top etc), so I'm very optimistic for this campaign, just surprised transfers are taking so long to materialize

No one knows who LVG is really after, so its impossible to know how good a Job Woodward is doing

I think Van Gaal is the sort of guy, who is careful enough to know what to do and when to do it. He has assessed the players, prepared them for a brand new formation and the new season, and won every single pre season game in doing so. He's also made some substantial changes behind the scenes already. The fact we've not bought anyone since Shaw and Hererra is probably something he has weighed up, and come to the conclusion that he can trade off potential problems associated with one or two late arrivals bedding in, for the good work he has done so far to settle the squad into a new regime and assess carefully existing players before making changes.

I hope your dog rapes you.

I hope your dog rapes you.

When I was young, we had a female dog that used to go around humping children of the estate . .

Bumping and grinding their legs, it was quite funny and to this day I still don't understand why bitches be crazy . .

Now Eddy has to traverse the murky waters of third party ownership for Rojo.

He's certainly had a learning experience this window with this and Athletic Bilbao.

After all the big talk about having more money than China and USA combined, suddenly the season nears and we only have 2 signings that we were already targeting from a while back and these were also deals that were straight forward. So has Edwood really not learnt his lesson from last year? Will we end up only buying Kuyt on deadline day and photograph him next to LVG in a dark alleyway and claim to be the biggest club in the world? I could already imagine this happening :(

I wonder if Woodward knows when the transfer window closes. Tik Tok Ed and Van Gaal.

I know it's unlikely he'll be shafted as he's a Glazer man but I do wonder if the club would entertain altering his role to a more commercial aspect? With someone new brought in for transfer dealings? Not necessarily a footballing director.

Some journo said that "United were always going to be doing their businesss in the last two weeks of August due to van Gaal's late arrival."

Easy to say now of course as we're approaching that time.

If we fail to make a substantial signing in the next three weeks the I imagine there is going to be uproar.

I'm sure our new sponsors are delighted with the way we are investing their 1.2billion.

"Watch this space".

Watch. The ticking of time.
Forever endless in its design.
I didn't mean for this to rhyme.
Still better than Nicki Minaj.

Miguel Delaney says van gaal is getting agitated with the lack of movement. Oh woody...

I fear at best we're going to get a couple transfer deadline punts. One or two players that may or may not be up to standard.

Like Fellaini.

Glad someone's began to report our lack of transfer movement. It's a bit like last season when we felt the media had gone too lightly on Moyes and we wanted him to be torn asunder in the press as to force the club's hand sacking him.

I'd like to ask some of the Woodward apologists what will it take to convince you he should be sacked?

Only when i buy the club and get to find out all the inside details of our transfer business will i be able to make a decision, until then we've no idea who's to blame. We're working on plenty of assumptions here.

Still prepared to be patient with Ed, but feel it's no harm the media begin to scrutinize more intensely.

I'd start with a list of players he was asked to sign this summer, and failed.

In almost all cases this would be impossible as a manager would just give off some cliche answers but with LVG in charge I wouldn't be surprised if he answered very honestly when asked about this window and said he didn't get the players he wanted.

Only when i buy the club and get to find out all the inside details of our transfer business will i be able to make a decision, until then we've no idea who's to blame. We're working on plenty of assumptions here.

So we should just put up with transfer window failure after failure after failure because we can't categorically prove who is to blame.

Call me crazy but as much as I understand Van Gaal likes to promote youth players and isn't fussed on signing big names, I'm pretty sure he's also the kind of bloke who will get severely pissed off with sheer incompetence if that's what Ed demonstrating behind the scenes.
