Really? I didn't know that. I assumed he lived in Manchester and worked out of an office at Old Trafford.
I think that we've recently moved all our business offices to London. I think the holding company is also based out of there.

St. Woody is finalising the Shaw deal now :D

Bit of vindication for Woody. Hopefully there's a couple more transfers coming, and we'll be all wow, this was geniusly planned out after all

As someone said before in the Herrera thread, Moyes complained last year that the reason we failed to sign in the summer was because he started work on 1st July. Now we've got a manager who's currently in Brazil working for his current employer and we've signed someone we've needed for years.

They didn't call Moyes dithering Dave for no reason.......

I feel awfully smug after defending Woody. And all this without boarding a flight. Who knows what he'll be able to do once Ed Force One gets airborne again.

I mean both in a couple of days. It's like a magic trick. Now you see me, now you see quality and future in LB and a CM.

Funny old game isn't it. They've no doubt been working on stuff for ages, and just odd they both come off so close. With Herrera there was no obvious reason, but clearly Shaw they were waiting til after the cup.

Wonder if we have any serious targets in the mixer left at in the cup. Hummels and Sanchez would be too good

Yeah, if we manage to get them both within a couple of days of each other, it's only because England are shit. If England had won the world cup (:wenger:) we wouldn't be unveiling Shaw until next month.

Never doubted him.

Well we all hated him last summer but I think we can all just put all that blame on Moyes and say Woody knew what he was doing all along, right??

I full on blamed moyes for the mess that was last summer tbh. We had deals in place until he came in and feck things up.

Woody is a genius. Whenever I get wood in the future, I shall crown it named Edward in celebration.

Our Eddie is just as much a transfer muppet as us. I believe he goes "Wood out!" just as we do a "cocks out" when signing new players. And boy does he love to get his wood out!

We should change the phrase from "Cocks out" to "Wood out" from today.

Like to think that Ed was reading redcafe and his coffee sprayed across the desk as he found his balls. Promising start but still a long summer to go. A great summer will give everyone confidence and we might even be back challenging :)

How much have we now spent since Fergie left?

I don't care about transfer fees as a rule. But man it feels like we are losing our identity since the great man stepped down

Really don't feel excited at all about the club spending close to 130 mil. This is what it feels like to be a Chelsea fan

It's a new age. We either had to splash cash or fall behind, I don't think there was a third way. So this is certainly the preferable way to go, for me.

TBF it's the first time since 2007 since we've gone on a major signing spree. And even during Fergie's tenure we signed Ferdinand, Veron, RVN, Ronaldo, Rooney in an extremely short span. In all honestly this is the only approach left if we've to compete with Real, Barcelona, Bayern and the rest of the European elite. 130 m might seem exorbitant but some clubs spend that much almost every alternate season.

Credits where it's due. Great day for him. Maybe with a bit more time Moyes would've been succesful too?

No fecking way.
