Anybody else think we were hoping to announce both Shaw and Herrera at the same time?
All the journo's briefed 24 - 48 hours, and none of them broke the news.

Obviously Herrera blew his load a little early and ruined the surprise

All the tossers who abused him are eating theirs words now!

Not even an official start of the window, not even a friday and two players already joining and one of them is a huge English talent.

It's far from over but not a bad start. He's finally investing in the right places... which are probably the resources he got also from his fat sponsorship deals.

Increasingly to looks as if all our balls-ups last season were down to having Moyes umming and ahhing over everything.

Anyone want to backtrack yet?
Nah, for Herrera transfer credit goes to Sir Bobby while for Shaw the credit goes to Gary Neville (he was on world cup with Hodgson, right).

Or at least this was what people said on Mata transfer (credit to Sir Alex and Gill).

2005 is never forgiven! He remains one of the Glazers!

Apart from that our transfer dealings look much improved, almost like pre-moyes, whoever is responsible for that!

I say well done Ed Woodward. Herrera sealed and Shaw looks very close. Just a few more signings and we will be ready for next season.

I have a Woody based joke

Why does Woody have so many D's in his name?

Because otherwise he'd be called Ewar Woowar

I'll get my coat shall I?

Apologies if this has already been posted, I just saw and found it amusing:cool:

Some quality gifs/ memes floating around tonight.:lol:

The ground work on Herrera deal was done by Fergie's lot. Moyes' "contribution" was to decide not to make a decision for a year.

It's hardly difficult deals to close. We activated a buy-out clause and spent crazy money on an 18-year-old left-back with an offer no club would have rejected. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'm glad we've strengthened the team but don't see why Woody deserves that much credit.

Of course it was.

What's going to be even worse is if Herrera tears it up this season as Moyes personally pulled the plug on the deal and left us short in the middle.

Bet he's having the world's most satisfying shit with an almighty cigar right now

I'm not sure what you expect?

We've bought one class player with the minimum of fuss, as well as potentially beating a number of clubs to the best young left back we've seen in this country for years.

He gets criticised for not getting deals done with people whining that "other clubs get deals done quickly". The likes of Chelsea and Madrid still pay top dollar for players - sometimes stupid sums of money, so how is it any different?

Perhaps you expect him to bring in Ronaldo on a free? Or Bale for half a million?

People love to be critical on here and are too frightened to admit they might have been a bit hasty writing this summer off before it had even started. Too many knee jerk reactions and some might end up looking like mugs by the time the window shuts.

I think Moyes shat himself as soon as he got the job last summer. He was desperate not to feck up with his first signings for the club - even took fecking ages to just sign Fellaini, and that cost us more than his buyout clause. He didn't want to go all in so the stupidly low valuations for both Baines and Fellaini earlier on in the summer, and our main target all summer being Fabregas - a sure thing.

We managed to tie up a massive deal without much fuss at all. Herrera has apparently moved already so this was likely going on in the background for a good few weeks; presumably he didn't pitch up on Tuesday and buy a house with his family impulsively. That deserves credit. Now we seem to have got Shaw just a couple of days after he got back from Brazil.

It's not so much giving him credit, it is after all his job, but perhaps redressing the balance from the criticism last year where he was working with a man who seemingly needed a fecking month to decide which colour tie to wear.

And still picked the wrong colour.

"We don't spend money. Woodward out"

We spend some money...

"We're spending too much money. Woodward out"

There's no fecking pleasing United fans.

Sorry, what are you talking about?
You're finding reason to complain where there is none. The fees are too high. Did he raid your piggy bank? We've signed a quality midfielder and one of the most highly rated youngsters in the country. Quit moaning. Who gives a feck what Juventus spent/didn't spend?
