Woman accuses Cristiano Ronaldo of rape - CR7 case only

Yeah she's just an attention seeker and I'm gonna call this one BS without the slightest bit of hesitation.
  • First of all, her past is hardly anything that makes you want to take her opinion on literally any matter seriously.
  • A few months ago she tweeted all over her support for Ronaldo and how happy she was for him
  • When the Mayorga stuff was all coming out, she went to twitter to call her a liar, but an R. Kelly documentary moved her and inspired her?
  • Now claims that Ronaldo forced her to write those tweets, because CLEARLY she is a really influential character on twitter and people would take that opinion seriously (she barely gets 50 likes/retweets on her posts ffs, she's essentially a nobody)
  • Why tweet all this instead of actually going to authorities? (Other than to get more attention, there are millions of people around like that. See a high profile case and try to piggy back on it and get some fame out of it).
  • She allegedly hooked up with Ronaldo once 10 years ago. No ongoing relationship.
  • She tried to get fame in the past trying to talking shit about Ronaldo: https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/jasmine-lennard-on-cristiano-ronaldos-weird-240332

Whether the Mayorga situation is true or not remains to be seen, and hopefully they get to the bottom of everything. I wouldn't give this person the slightest bit of attention though, she's only hurting Mayorga's case. Nothing but an attention seeker.

She hasn't really tweeted anything specific about the Mayorga case, just things that she feels corroborates the personality type that would ignore someone saying no and stop and then continue to exercise a weird power over their vicitim.

I wonder if the time of year had anything to do with her decision to come forward. People are awfully reflective about their lives in January. Maybe she experienced a watershed moment. But really, it's irrelevant. Asking why someone comes out with something now only looks bad for the side asking it.
Apparently when the Mayorga stuff was coming out she tweeted that she was a liar and was backing up Ronaldo, only to now delete those tweets and write that he made her tweet these things (to all 50 of the people who retweet or like her tweets). This one stinks of BS. Not buying any of it. Mayorga's stuff is a whole other case and should be taken seriously. This? Nah.

Also, why did it take watching the documentary to do the obvious right thing? Why didnt she come out with this info months back?
That documentary has sickened a lot of people.
Plus you can see from some of the responses here why certain victims don't come forward after shying away from these events for so long.

That sounds rather dismissive. She reached out to Mayorga and her legal team to work with them. Surely you can recognize that publishing any relevant details on Twitter before sharing it with lawyers is stupid.

That's fair, but then why the tease on Twitter ? If she has something she should either go public or else work discreetly with the authorities.

Should get his legal team on it.

Not saying what she’s saying is real, as I obviously have no way of knowing. But those who doubt here on the basis that it’s not believable to take the doc about R Kelly as the reason to come out, seem to lack empathy and a general understanding of human emotion. That’s an absolutely plausible reason to come out. It’s actually a really, really good one. How one would fail to understand the emotions, a survivor or witness of abuse might feel, while watching such a doc, is baffling and actually quite disturbing to me.
That‘s such an obvious and easily understandable trigger, I can’t wrap my head around those, who are unable to comprehend this.

Oh, those who are ready to call her an attention seeking whatever should really shut the feck up. You don’t have to believe her and it’s reasonable to be sceptical, but to dismiss her claims right away, while posting on a public platform, where any shred of logic dictates, that we are incredibly likely to have survivors of abuse reading this right now, are part of a huge fecking problem and are one of the reasons, why survivors don’t come out in so many cases.

That's what she offered to do in one of the first tweets. The rest is just general stuff that she feels corroborates what he and his legal team have done to Mayorga. Establishing a pattern of behaviour, so to speak.

She said in one of the first tweets that she has information that supports Mayorga's case and that she's like to help her legal team. The rest is a bit ranty, I agree, but she's trying to show that he has a pattern of behaviour.

I agree that it's a massive problem. Havent seen the documentary so cant really comment on that, but why not speak up when the Mayorga stuff came out? She did actually, she called her a liar on Twitter and defended Ronaldo. Now claims that he made her write those tweets (which again I find hard to believe given she isnt really somebody anyone would pay attention to). More than a few reasons to be skeptical for her outburst.

Yes but why when it first came out did she go on twitter and call her a liar? She deleted those tweets now but tweeted that Ronaldo made her write them which again I doubt, given that shes not that famous or influential and is pretty much a nobody. Or her article on Ronaldo after their hook up in the mirror from 2010. Or tweeting her support for Ronaldo in the summer. Her saying she has messages of him boasting about how hes going to get away with everything is straight up strange too, whether Ronaldo did or didnt do what Mayorga claims, nobody is that dumb to send messages to a hook up from 10 years ago laughing and saying those things. Nobody is that dumb, especially not when they have so many advisors like someone in Ronaldo's situation.

As I’ve already said, it’s absolutely reasonable to remain sceptical. It’s actually the right thing to do. But dismissing her claims right away, is just plain wrong. She reached out to Mayorga‘s legal team throughout those tweets. They will most likely talk to her and see, if she actually has anything to offer. Until we find out, wether or not she was right, we can just shut up and let those involved handle the claims. Shouldn’t be to difficult. But no, people have to start doubting everything, dig up the woman’s whole past and rush to judgement. That’s precisely the kind of behavior, that makes it possible for powerful people, to escape justice.
If you ever wonder why people like Spacey, Weinstein or Woody Allen could go on for so long, this is part of the reason why. Because the second something like this breaks, people are all over it, doubting everything. If her claims are now proven to be true, they have already lost credibility in the public eye, because the idea, that she’s doing it in an ill guided attempt to gain fame, is already out there. It’s now incredibly easy for Ronaldo’s legal team to discredit here in the public eye.
Cases involving public figures, especially in the US, are very much fought in public. What’s written matters. People need to understand this. Those who already made their judgement, should be ashamed of themselves.

The same goes true for the accused. We cant start believing every single tweet. Did you read her article in the mirror from 2010 that I posted? Does that sound like the truth to you, because that to me sounds more like somebody who was butthurt and lashed out in the media to try and seem like the "cooler" person after what was just a fling and shes upset it isnt more. Whatever the case, her history having things like that will make her completely useless even in the off chance that any of her claims her true.

I havent made my judgement on the Mayorga case in the slightest. It needs to be taken seriously. I do think I've read enough about this girl though to seriously doubt it's anything more than attention seeking, and unfortunately, these sort of situations if it does turn out to be BS only serve to hurt the actual victims because of reasons you mentioned. When somebody makes so many claims in the past, says so much BS in the past, and then goes on a Twitter rant... it doesnt look great when all of a sudden they want to be taken seriously.

No one has come out and said she is right, I think some people have said lets wait and see and not jump to conclusions. The poster even said you should remain skeptical.

If she was so afraid of him why did she talk negatively about him, publically, back in 2010?

Should get his legal team on it.

This.

You’re still missing the point. I won’t read anything about here, because it doesn’t matter one tiny bit. It’s completely irrelevant. What is relevant, is wether or not she said the truth in those tweets. And Reading her claims, it should be incredibly easy to confirm if she said the truth or not. So I’ll just wait until those in charge looked at the possible evidence and reserve my judgement until then. Which is just an incredibly easy thing to do. Just wait.
Her past doesn’t matter. Her reliability doesn’t matter. Her credibility doesn’t matter. Neither do her looks, her relation to anyone involved and so on. The only thing that matters, is the truth. By suggesting otherwise, you’re actively feeding into a culture, that allows predatory behavior without consequences. It allows the strong to prey on the weak. Just remain sceptical, shut up and wait for the truth to come out. You are not involved in the case. Nobody needs your judgement or investigative prowess.

Yeah that's fair. Wait and see is the way people should be with everything. Feel like the truth regarding this girl and her rant wont ever really come out whatever way Mayorgas case goes, but given all I've read and seen, I'm leaning on the side of her attention seeking rather than actually helping Mayorga.

The article absolutely does matter. She tried to publically humiliate him in that article. Completely contradicts her being afraid of him. She called Mayorga a liar when the news came out. All of it matters because it points to her attention seeking as shes done it multiple times piggy backing on Ronaldo himself. If she does have something, she should give it to the lawyers and do it the right away. Going on a twitter rant about it and throwing in how Mayorga's people can "feel free to contact her" is probably not the way to do it though.

Reading through her twitter was an interesting experience. For example it seems she is pen pals with Charles Bronson, the criminal not the actor - no joke.

At one point she also casually seems to mention that she's "psychotic" which could explain a few things.

More relevant for this specific case though: Jasmine Lennard has also talked in various tabloids about (text) messages with Ronaldo long before this twitter rant.

"He explained to me that nearly every time he has a female house guest he loses his temper and the women end up sleeping in separate bedrooms to him,"

"The final straw came when he messaged her one night saying he would call her in two minutes."

"After Jasmine replied saying she was going to bed and would call her tomorrow, she received a tirade of increasingly aggressive messages"

"His appetite for women is insatiable. He boasts of sending group text messages when among friends to women saying “Hola bebe, I am thinking of you” and seeing how long it takes and how many replies he receives."

Presumably because she had a good relationship with him or was, at least, fond of him.

No, it simply doesn’t. What matters is, wether or not she said the truth. That will proof, wether or not she was seeking attention or not. Her past has noting to do with the truth. The truth is the truth, no matter who said it and what that persons credibility is like. It’s still the truth, if it’s being shouted by a complete maniac. The same way a lie is a lie, even if the most reliable person you can imagine tells it. Is that such a difficult concept?
The way this case presents itself, it’ll be incredibly easy to verify her claims. So why do you feel this overwhelming need to inform people about your opinions on the trustworthiness of her words? It doesn’t matter one bit, but it can cause real damage to other people.
Unreliable people can become victims of abuse. And no matter how unreliable or crazy they might appear, they deserve to have their claims checked. And if they turn out to be wrong, you can gently pad your own belly for reserving your judgement until the end, knowing you made the right and wise choice.
But right now, you’re actively deciding to rush to your judgement, despite knowing about the possible harm said judgement can cause to others, especially when uttered publicly. And to put it mildly, that’s not a behavioral pattern that I find particularly charming.

Agreed. Part of the reason that so few sexual crimes are succesfully prosecuted. Male attitudes that use excuse making and victim blaming to discredit victims.

One would think that credibility is quite important when it comes to accusations.

No, not when there is proof. The proof is either there, or not. Her credibility doesn’t impact the existence of proof. So there either are those messages she claims to have possession of, or not. Quite simple, don’t you think? And we‘re not talking about unreliable proof like eyewitnesses or stuff like this. We’re talking about hard proof. Those messages either exist or not. No grey area, no middle ground. It doesn’t get any more simple than this.

Obviously, but no proof has been produced yet. She claims she has it, but let’s see. Her lack of credibility tells me that said proof probably does not exist - I’ll stand corrected if I’m wrong.

I think what HTG really wants to say is just don’t comment at all if you’re of the opinion it’s BS. Then you don’t have to be proven right or wrong.

So it will be a field day for those who think that he’s guilty? Nah.

Is that me saying he’s guilty?

Why are you going on? If you want to nitpick it says that those who think that the accusations are BS should not comment THUS it becomes a field day for those who believe that he IS guilty.

See, this kind of post is what pisses me of so much. You’re opinion here is potentially harmful to others, yet does not help the case in any way whatsoever. You're just shouting an opinion that doesn’t matter into the world. Why do that? Why not wait? This is not a difficult case. It’s as simple as it gets. You literally have nothing to do but wait for the truth.
If you just waited, you wouldn’t need to stand corrected. You wouldn't need to retract your statement in any way. You don’t need to pay attention to her credibility. It just doesn’t matter. Those messages either exist or not. So why do people like you, feel this incredible need, to inform the world about their unsubstantiated opinions? It’s potentially harmful to many people, yet not useful to a single person out there.
Cases of sexual abuse are incredibly difficult for everyone involved and if public, potentially traumatic for so many other people out there. The likelihood that all your doubting her has been read by survivors of sexual abuse, is incredibly high. So high, I would bet all my possessions that it actually happened. So why do you need to feed into a culture of premature judgement and victimshaming? Why potentially hurt those weakest, while possibly helping those strongest? I just don’t understand it. Read the information, shut up about it, if you don’t have anything important to add and wait for the truth.
This is not some stupid discussion about football or entertainment. This shit right now has a very real and serious impact on many lives. Public opinion can be harmful or helpful for people going through similar experiences. So why do you not choose a careful and sensible approach here? I’m honestly wondering. What do you gain by posting this stuff? Does it entertain you? Do you want her to be wrong? Do you want to able to say you knew all along? That’s not even meant judgemental, even though it sounds so harsh. I honestly don’t understand.

Why are you going on? If you want to nitpick it says that those who think that the accusations are BS should not comment THUS it becomes a field day for those who believe that he IS guilty.

I haven’t seen anyone say he’s guilty. I’ve seen people who believe that out of respect for people affected by any form of sexual abuse that you shouldn’t automatically discount the information provided by a source, irrespective of credibility. There’s no witch hunt going on here in this thread, just mostly people who know that the truth will prevail one way or another. You and some others are in here to say Ronaldo didn’t do it with absolutely no concrete proof. The rest of us are hoping that if proof does surface that he is indeed guilty, he be appropriately punished. The difference is that right now, the allegations for believing Ronaldo has done something wrong far outweigh the evidence that he’s completely innocent here.

You could do well to heed your own advice as well. There are so many points to adress that I’m only going to highlight one: don’t you want her to be wrong? Is it not BETTER if she has not suffered any abuse by Ronaldo? And to those last questions of yours: no, of course not!

I’m not in here to say that «Ronaldo didn’t do it». If you bother to read back you’ll see that I, and others, have been very respectful and careful about the Mayorga claims. I also hope that he is punished if evidence is produced but don’t see the problem with being skeptical of this latest Twitter rant.

Those latest The Sun articles have some gems such as: "While a lot of women appreciate a well-endowed man, this was just ridiculous...intimidatingly so," she recalls. @SirAF

No wonder there's so much space for all of us to hop on the bandwagon

EDIT: Didn't he once score with his crotch in 2008? Makes sense...

That seems like a really appropriate comment in a discussion about sexual assault.

You could do well to heed your own advice as well. There are so many points to adress that I’m only going to highlight one: don’t you want her to be wrong? Is it not BETTER if she has not suffered any abuse by Ronaldo? And to those last questions of yours: no, of course not!

This is precisely what I’m criticizing. You’re „let’s see“ is worthless, if you follow it up with literal judgement. You can say „let’s see“ a hundred times, if you don’t wait and see, it doesn’t do anything. So even while acknowledging the potentially harmful nature of your posts, you still go on doing precisely what is so harmful, by pointing out that you find the accusations to likely be false.
And I don't see anything I’ve written that would in any way indicate a personal opinion regarding this case. I’ve completely refrained from any judgement. There is no suggestion of who I believe to be in the right.
And the only thing I want is the truth. No matter what that truth is. If the truth is, that Ronaldo is guilty, I hope he has to live through the consequences. If he’s innocent, I hope so do those wrongfully blaming him. It’s that simple, really.
