Wimbledon 2016

Gotta be something seriously wrong with Novak after yesterday's result, his body language said it all.

Clearly not an injury, watch this space.

Shame about the silly weather as I think it fecked up Del Potro. Having to play 3 straight days after a long injury was going to be tough.

Berdych, T'Songa and Gasquet are through. These guys have been consistent players. But even these guys must be thinking it is now or never for them. Usually to win a big slam you'd need to beat three of the big four. All are good grass court players. Gasquet should have been as good as Murray if he put the hard work and effort in.

Shame about Del Potro. I was routing for him to win - such a likeable guy.

Gasquet should beat Tsonga I feel, especially after the marathon Tsonga played yesterday.

Hoping for a Kyrios upset too.

Nishikori retired after being 6-1 5-1 down to Cilic.

Cilic set to play Federer in the QFn

Willis, Evans, Pella, Johnson... next is Cilic and Goffin is already leading Raonic 1-0. no Stan in draw, no Djokovic, no Nadal, no Del Potro... Federer probably feels like it's 2004. again.

Reckon Murray wil beat him. Fed is just too old to play 3 consistent sets against top players IMO

Don't see him beating Cilic in quarters. Federer's been in poor form all through the year (or injured) and though he reached 4 finals here since turning 30 (3 GS + 1 Olympics), I don't see him getting near the title. With Rio Olympics next month, Federer may possibly retire after US Open. Today he equaled Martina Navratilova on 306 GS match wins (Serena about to win her 301st) on all-time list btw. Serena will go past him and hold the record for considerable time imo.

Fairly sure Kyrgios is possibly suffering from depression, definitely has some sort of mental demons in his life.

Why?

I'm hoping Raonic turns it around. A break up in the third, when they resume.

Good call. Raonic won the next 3 sets to advance. I don't mind servebots in Wimbledon. Let there be at least one Grand Slam where it isn't endless rallies from 10m behind baseline.

Pouille (knocked out Del Potro) came back from 2-1 down to beat Tomic 10-8 in 5th set. Gasquet retired against Tsonga while Berdych vs Vesely match will continue with the 5th set today (Vesely won the 4th set tie break 11-9 while Berdych won the 3rd set tie-break 10-8)

Last year Fed destroyed Murray in 3 straight sets. Of course it won't be same and Murray is in better form this year and imo is favourite right now, but Fed definitely will fancy his chance vs Murray on grass.

Federer was in incredible form last year at Wimbledon. He's done well so far this year, but not at the level he was last year. Also coming back from injury. Cilic and Raonic have the potential to provide a tough match for Federer. More than Tsonga or Berdych in Murray's half, so I think tiredness could play a big factor in the final.

I was going to put a bet on it, but the odds weren't enticing enough. First time Raonic has even won a set after being 2-0, so should be a big mental boost for him.

Murray is definitely the favorite now ahead of Federer. With Rodger, at his age, there's always a doubt about him being able to come through victorious in the long battles. But he's still got the perfect chance to make it 18. I just wish he wad coming into this on the back of a better year/form.

Murray's got to be feeling pretty confident, he's playing too well for a potential route of Tsonga-Berdych-Raonic/Cilic to trouble him too much.

I put a fiver on a 20/1 accumulator of Cilic, Raonic, Murray and Pouille before the matches started. Come on Cilic!

Expected really. Federer hasn't been sharp enough this season to overcome any decent challenge. Looks like age has finally caught up with him, unfortunately. I'll be home in an hour and expect to catch Murray-Tsonga by then.

Can't see Roger winning three sets in a row unless Cilic starts to serve real badly.

He has missed most the season. He was in good form during the Aussie open.

Interesting. I think he can definitely do it, and might. However he'll be using energy that he would need for the semi and final.

Just delaying the inevitable, Querrey vs Raonic is a better bet for a comeback.

Nailed on for a Cilic choke here. Looked so good, then crumbles when he has an opportunity to break Fed.
