Wilshere's price?

Since when? I've never seen Gibbs put in a superlative defensive display against quality opposition. Defensively he is still way behind Rafael. Oly an Arsenal fan could deny some thing hat obvious.

I'm not denying that, all I'm saying is LAST SEASON that comment would have been spot on. Which is exactly what I said.

Eboue's a RB and scored a double in a game before. I guess by your logic he's the best RB ever in the history of the world.

Jog on kid.

Yeah, you'll find in some posts before this season, I said they wanted to keep Fabregas for another year to tutor Wilshere some more and bid time for Ramsey, who are both going to be boss themselves, then you have Nasri who can easily slot in and a few others who are solid as hell. Even without Fabregas, I still think they have a better midfield than Utd and Chelsea, easily.

If anything Gibbs is like Rafael's brother Fabio. A player with massive potential yet to begin the journey to fulfilling it.
Yes. The comparison to Fabio is apt. Fabio is a good talent who can make it at a big club. Rafael is clearly one of the best young players around. You have to base these things on something, and Rafael has put in numerous excellent performances to back that reputation.

It's amazing how some players get stuck with a stigma. It's like Nani being called inconsistent when he's clearly a phenomenal footballer. Similarly, Rafael doesn't get his due in the media when he's quite clearly one of the best young footballers around. Of course a young defender will make the odd mistake and while last season he was great, this season he's taken it to a whole new level. Then again, people should know better than to go around basing their opinions on media images.

As for Wilshire, I think he'll be a very good player and clubs with big ambitions don't let go of young talents and Arsenal won't. I doubt anyones going to bother trying to nick him off Arsenal apart from City. Fair enough I say, there seem to be plenty other great talents who will be easier to get.

There looks like there won't be a problem as far as attacking minded midfielders are concerned, but we'll need another option to give Song a break. It looks like Denilson won't cut it, well, at least not as a player to give Song a chop out.

I'm twice your age you little wanker.

Dickhead Arsenal fans coming on here slagging off our young talent and one who's having a great season at that, funny it's also one who scored a blinder against your shower.

Eboue

Go feck yourself.

If you're twice my age start acting like it you old immature prick. And who the hell is slagging off Rafael? I certainly wasn't. And Pete's comment may be wrong, but he's not slagging Rafael off.

Meanwhile if you're going to use a goal as an example of how a RB is so good then you need your head checked, senility perhaps? Eboue's scored a double, so by your logic he's an amazing RB.

Oldies trying to be big on the internet, eh? How embarrassing.

Pete's comment may be wrong, but he's not slagging Rafael off.

There's no need to be so condescending though, "jog on kid" makes you sound like a bit of an arse.

As for Pete's "not slagging Rafael off".... he called him the new Glen Johnson  It can't get worse than that surely.

It's a shame some of you can't appreciate what a wonderful young footballer Rafael is, I can appreciate Ramsey and Wilshere, but they are darlings of the UK media as opposed to the Brazilian lad... is that telling?

I can certainly see how 16,650 posts from an Arse bandit on a United forum is embarrassing for sure, yes.

Hah, considering it's the only Forum I post on, and was the first Forum I was ever introduced to I'm not bothered. If I want to go and have circle jerks like some of you idiots on here I'll go to an Arsenal Forum. But since I prefer the more objective opinions I'll post here.

As for Arse bandit...... You sure you're actually a fully grown male?

For the most part that guy's an absolute tit though. Old hard man not significant enough in life so he tries to be significant on the interweb.

Anyway forget him, I didn't see those comments of Peter's there... But personally I do think Rafael's an exceptional talent, and the most annoying part is Fabio was supposed to be the better of the two...

Wilsheres priceless to Arsenal but that's football isn't it? All this bullshit about Fabregas and you see Nasri stepping up and this kid playing with confidence. I bet if you sold Fabregas, you wouldn't bat an eyelid these days. The fact he's missed a bit of footballs been beneficial and very often players take their chance if they have that ability/confidence in themselves

I think you know exactly what I am as regards age and gender.

I also think you're an annoying little turd who could probably do with taking down a peg or two so I'll just get on with my day and hope you get what's coming to you one day you disrespectful, arrogant little shit.

Fabregas is leaving because of Wengers fear of showing a finished article. Fabregas need to play in a team where he can advance and make the most of his talent. Why the hell would he want to hang around waiting for some promises to bloom while his own career is passing him by??? Absolute shit and he owes the fans nothing!

Here are some valuations of the players mentioned in the thread. Note, these are not personal valuations but real life valuations.

Rafael - 25-30m
Wilshere 10-15m (at most)
Fletcher 25m
Fabregas 40m (at most)
Rooney 60-70m

Taking down a peg? I think you'll find I'm quite a gracious and polite person. What I'm not, however, is someone who can abide idiots who say stupid pointless rubbish, or in this case act like king-dicks on the internet for no apparent reason.

You say something stupid, I make light of it, you become a big 'tuffy' and puff out your chest. Well I laughed.

Real life valuations? Pray tell where you found them... Because if Rafael/Rooney and Fletcher are worth that much compared to Fabregas then they're having a laugh.

So you dropped your megastar fullback to get height against City who started with Silva and Tevez. Way to go.
We dropped our megastar fullback because he'd just came back from a fairly bad concussion and played relatively poorly in his return match, while also suffering quite a bad finger dislocation. Combine that with the fact that the City team has a significant number of monsters in it, and it's not exactly surprising that we went for the extra height of O'Shea who had played quite well in his previous few games.

You cannot be serious. Wilshere looks like the real deal in CM at 19. Rafael looks like the new Glen Johnson.

Now you are taking the piss. Im a big fan of Sagna but I wouldnt want to swap Rafael for him. This lad is going to be phenominal. Your comments about Wilshire are correct but theres no way you can look at Rafael and rate him the same as Johnson.

Don't spout bollox - he was dropped for the derby because he's a defensive liability.

Nah, it's pretty straightforward really, though I know you were looking for a rise.

He was dropped because we played 451, among other things. Which meant Berbatov missed out. Which meant we needed a midfielder who could carry the ball and get close to Rooney (Anderson). Scholes and Fletcher completed the midfield. Of the front 6, only Rooney and Fletcher are any cop in the air, and Rooney was obviously going to have to stay up at times. If we'd played Rafael we'd have had only Vidic, Smalling and Fletcher and Rooney who could defend against high balls.

They'd have been facing Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Y. Toure, Barry and possibly Dzeko. O'Shea's experience along with his height was useful for a game like that.

I still think it was a bad decision from Ferguson, but most people think he was right and now want O'Shea to play the remaining matches. Rafael is superb.

Nope. You've just made that up.

People are just willing to acknowledge that hecan be a useful player for us and didn't let us down. The vast majority on here still believe Rafael is our right back going forward.

And Pete's comment may be wrong, but he's not slagging Rafael off.

Saying he's behind Gibbs in his development when he isn't trusted ahead of an out of form Clichy is an indirect insult.

I think people are getting ahead of themselves about how strong Rafael's defensive game is yet, but that's not the same thing.

He is one of the few Arsenal players I'd like to see in our team.

I'm well calm. This is what happens when the WUMming is allowed to get out of hand as it has been of late. All I did was post a video of our player who was being disrespected scoring against them. Then I responded to the disrespect that was shown towards me.

You're full of it. You post some immature rubbish about a goal proving the quality of a right back. I call you out on your idiocy, and you lose your bottle and start getting personal... 'Tis only natural that I respond in kind.

Your big man act doesn't wash with me.

Yes, you've both had your tit for tat, now drop it.

Don't be a dick head Gillian....nobody anywhere near me in the East Stand upper applauded Nasri or any other Arse player.

Where were you in the ground?

I was with Leeds fans

Front row of the main stand in line with penalty area opposite end to where the Arsenal fans were

In fact I was immediately behind the wheelchair fans

.......and Nasri when substituted WAS applauded off by many sporting Leeds fans!
