Wilshere's price?

I just picked up this thread and thought at first it was a Rafael v Wilshere comparison which is daft

However there are 2 clear ideas here

1) No argument - Wilshere is brilliant and will be the fulcrume of the Arsenal and England team for years to come.

2) Rafael - Has the potential to be a good left back but at the moment is a liability.Too many yellow and red cards. No way will he be risked in the big games for the rest of this season.

I suppose if he has good potential to be a good left back, his potential to be a fantastic right back must be through the fecking roof!

Of course his future is uncertain and will take any number of twists and turns but from what we have seen so far, he looks like the real deal. I can imagine him being the heart of a midfield and the cornerstone upon which 2 or 3 teams are built over his career so it would be an amazing investment for any team.

Im just wondering ... every player has his price: Rooney & Rio cost us approx £30 each, Ronaldo cost Madrid £80m

So what would is cost for somebody to buy Wilshire from Arsenal now?

Going back to the OP, I'd say between 35 and 40m would buy you the next Paul Scholes for 10 years or so.

Is he worth it? Without doubt. This lad would walk into our first team, and yet he's young enough to still improve dramatically. He's an anomaly, and a class player, and he's English - meaning of course that the threat of him wanting away once at a club that wins trophies is lowered greatly.

Yeah about that - you really should not have picked up this thread.

First of all Rafael at left back?

Second, he has too many yellow and red cards? Rafael has one yellow card and one red card in 21 games played for us this season you pillock!
