On the topic of swap. Would people swap directly Mata for Willian? I would definitely.

I would
A bit reluctantly because i quite like mata but i think we'd make much, much better use of willian

I rate Mata higher than Willian, but if Mourinho doesn't rate Mata, then yep, it would be good business for us.

£60million for Willian is completely absurd.

We could presumably get someone like Mahrez for less than that who is obviously younger, a better footballer and in my view a better fit tactically in terms of what this side needs going forward.

Mata?!? I wouldn't swap Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia for him let alone Juan fecking Mata. I might even be almost tempted to keep Depay over him as shit as he is.

He's a reasonably fast, hard working winger who occasionally flukes some free kicks. That's pretty much all he brings to the team.

People turn their nose up at Mane for 25m and yet want to spend 30m on this clown? If we want a hard working quick winger on the right play Valencia there or Young or Lingard. Spending 30m on someone who works hard and runs fast would be a farce.

Chelsea's best player? Who gives a feck? There's only one Chelsea attacking player worth signing and it sure as feck is not Willian. Put Lingard or Young on the wings for an entire season as first choice and you can bet they will equal if not better Willian's tally from open play. Hell, Young was more productive than Willian last season despite spending half his time at Wing back.

Look at my post about Lingard vs Willian on the last page and you'll see how inferior the former is.

Everything I said is true. He's not a £60 million pound player but nothing I said is wrong. I felt this way before last season too.

It's not and if you thought it before you were wrong then too.

60mil Akash, 60mil. Not 30.

I don't care for those fancy stats. Why not mention the goals and assists from open play? Neither Lingard nor Willian are good enough to start for United. So it really boils down to who's more productive. As per Whoscored Willian has been fractionally more productive through the season. But when you consider that Lingard is 5 years younger, that this was his first full season in top tier football and that he was playing for perhaps the worst attacking side in the top 10 of the table then then I see no need to swap them. Then when you add in the fact that Willian's ineffectiveness from open play is masked by a flurry of set pieces it becomes a no brainer. I don't have the stats but I'd be willing to bet that Lingard has been productive from open play. Oh and Lingard is home grown as well and just scored the winner in the FA cup final if you needed any more reasons.

Madness!

40m? No way. 60m? Must be insane.

He is worth maybe 25m, maybe. He is as good as he gets now and that is decent, but there is better players out there.

I reckon this is his agent trying to get him a new contract.

Chelsea signed him for £30m+ and he's only got better/just come off his best season. He's worth more than £25m.

He's a good player but not £60m good more so at his age. I'd rather we sign someone younger like Sane or Fekir. :)

If you don't think Willian is better than ashley young or valencia then you're mad. Willian is a very very good player just needs to add more goals to his game. 60m is mental but offer Willian valencia ashley young to any top European club and there's only one of those 3 they'd take

No way Chelsea sale us their player of the season

Nope.

A bit like Oscar, a grafter with not much else about him.

Don't rate Willian at all. He banged in a few fks this season, but he comes across as quite an unproductive player. Good for balance and against good teams for his work rate, but not the type of player I like to watch.

Willian is much better than Oscar.

My Chelsea-supporting friend gets really frustrated with him - bad decision making (piicks the wrong pass) and slows down their attacks. But he seems very productive.

Fully agree, keep Lingard. Those youngsters will deliver.

Why would Chelski sell Willian to United? It isn't going to happen.

You're mad. Willian is around the same level as Valencia at his best (3-4 years ago). Young hasn't ever been half the player Williain is, and Lingard is nowhere near.

Now, spending 60m on his is insane, obviously, but you're post has feck all to do with the reality.

Yup agree. I'm Willian's biggest fan but I wouldn't go past 35-40 million. He's a quality player though, no doubt about it.

I think Valencia at his very best was a better player than this Willian. Valencia at his best tortured leftbacks and put in dangerous crosses. Willian rarely looks out of place but also doesn't really do much either IMO.

Everytime I see Willian I see a slightly more technical Ji-Sung Park. Good squad player but should not be starting for a top team. We need first team quality.
