Willian | Signed for Chelsea

Are people actually coming to the conclusion he's a bit shit based on YouTube videos? I mean, I know some are joking but the guy is a cracking player and he'd be an amazing signing for Liverpool. On that basis alone, I want us to sign him.

Willian is now following Lucas on twatter.

Its ON!

Unfortunately, it's George Lucas.

Agent looking to get more money out of Liverpool or are we genuinely interested? I guess Moyes will be asked after the game.

His agent has 'confirmed' we are interested in him. We seem desperate to sign at least one outrageous afro this summer.

Which to me is basically a confirmation that we're not. Agent driving up the price, as per usual.

Must say I can't remember much from the few times I have seen him live. But joke or not, it is kind of odd how crap all his youtube videos are.

If this is true then it shows Moyes is the man to follow in Fergies footsteps....

Buying a winger when we desperately need a top class CM

Given our wingers available, this rumour makes no sense. I guess it's his agent telling others to up their bid.

Now he only needs to go for Garay so we'll know without a doubt that he's the second coming of Fergie.

We'd pretty much all agree that the centre of midfield is the most pressing issue but I've felt throughout the summer that we do lack a little bit of quality a bit further up the pitch. I know we have a lot of players to play behind Van Persie but I'm not sure any of the wingers are quite top class, certainly not on last years form, and it would add a massive amount to our squad to bring in someone who can play in a couple positions to a high standard. Whether or not Willian is that good I'm not sure because I haven't seen much of him.

I've read the thread, watched the videos and I'm still none the wiser. Who is he? Why would we want him? I don't remember seeing him play, though I must have done, and slick wingers and attacking mids tend to stick in my mind. And 30m? Really?

So has anyone on here watched him enough to know why he might be worth buying?

Yep, Liverpool probably playing hardball over price/wages when all of a sudden: "Oh, United are very interested too."

I'm already anticipating the claims that Liverpool and Rodgers was more appealing than United with Moyes and CL football.

Yet another agent/player using us to get a bigger wage. Seems to happen all of the time.

I haven't seen that much of him but he's very talented on his day. He looks a bit flaky though and I wouldn't be paying £30M or anywhere near for him.

Miles better video this.

He's quality whoever gets him will have a very tidy player. He's in the Hazard / Lucas mould who we all know we tried to sign.

With the signing of Zaha and the development of Januzaj/Welbeck, I don't see how we'd have room for Will.I.an.

We were going for Hazard and Lucas last year though. I guess they still think they need to strengthen that area a bit more (if this rumour is true, which it probably isn't).

His stats don't read much like Hazard's. In fact quite far from it

Lets hope you're right about the second coming of Carroll.

Have any of you lads slating him ever seen him play? I'll admit, those youtube videos are horrible, but anyone who watched him in the Champs league last season will know of his quality.

If pool sign him that's a massive coup for them imo.

I read yesterday Gary Neville saying that we need 2CMs and possibly a winger?
I believe in competition but it'd be weird if we had Nani, Young, Zaha, Kagawa, Welbeck, Januzaj, Giggs and Willian competing for two spots.

2 are shit, ones a central midfielder due a pension soon. Ones an AM. Ones a baby and ones a striker. Oh and one has 10 months left on a contract.

Point remains they're all competing for the same two spots.
Admittedly I don't know enough about this player though to say whether I think he's worth £30m and worth adding an 8th player to the battle for the wing spots.

From what I have seen him on UCL he looked a very good player. I think that he played excellent against Chelsea and Juve.

On the other side, he's an attacking midfielder/left winger so he is exactly what we don't need. I wouldn't be happy if we sign him. Would prefer if we extend Nani's contract and if that happens, I can't see how all of him, Nani, Valencia, Young, Kagawa, Rooney, Welbeck, Zaha and Januzaj will get time in three positions. Hopefully another Gaitan saga.

Apart from playing well against Chelsea he has been a bit average in some of the game i have seen him play in, also the fact we desperately need a CM than an AM/W so i hope this rumour is another whereby an agent is trying to use our club for a better deal somewhere else.

The way I see it, the lad is 25 yet he's only gained 2 caps for his national side. Even taking into account that Brazil have a lot of talent to choose from, he can't be classed as a 'world class player' when he's only made a couple of appearances for his country.

A risky buy for whoever wants to spunk £30 million on him.
