£20m and Anderson+Nani+Bebe
Easy peasy.
Easy peasy.
If we want him we will get him
I see another Arsenal Draxler scenario. A delegation sent to negotiate but we will be miles apart. He's worth 20-25m GBP Max right now!
United tend to be less skint then Arsenal.
£30m is the standard price for talented players these days and has been so for quite a while.£30m seems on the high end but at least it isnt beyond the realms of reason like £37m

Why didn't he start the games against Germany and USA in the world cup? Is he normally a starter for Portugal?

Sky sources understand he's our target but we must pay 37m to get him.
I don't want to shit on your Xmas dinner but I don't see us being in for Vidal. I think we signed Carvalho months ago like Shaw etcI think Carvalho is our back-up target if we don't get Vidal (which isn't likely really). Thirty seven million is ridiculous though.
I'm always put off a player when you have a club constantly talking about selling the player, and quoting prices. Its completely irrational I know, but it just puts a doubt in the back of my mind.
Explains the relative lack of interest this rumour is getting from journalists. A lot of signs are pointing to our interest, more so than with Vidal, but because it's a much less exciting transfer we're hearing a lot more about Vidal.Journalists love a comparison or finding the "next" messi or the "new" ronaldo
I'd hate to think they were making a lazy comparison to Yaya Toure due to his physical appearance.
This transfer is just not a muppet's dream like others which are ongoing(?) this summer...which is resulting in this potential signing not being very exciting.

My mate who's a big Sporting fan is adamant they won't sell him for less than the release clause. He's also been raving about him all season and says he's the biggest talent thats come through since Ronny. Big praise that.
Which club is it? Sporting? Our President has only said one thing: "Carvalho is not for sale. If any club wants him, it has to pay the clause". If there is a source leaking info to the press i´d bet it´s Jorge Mendes.
I think they will accept eventually. They have got an insane amount of debt!Do you think he'll stand his ground, Sly? Or if a Club offered say £30 million, do you think that'd be enough for Sporting to accept?
I've read someone else say that recently. I think it might have been that Portugese journalist whose twitter posts get posted on the thread here. He does seem to be very highly rated by Sporting fans.

Then perhaps I read your debt amount wrongly, as I read it was ~400 million euros, which is insane for a club of any size.We finished our financial reestruturation last year and we are under no pressure to sell, specially with the Champions League participation. Every club has debt and ours is manageable like United´s debt (with the obvious dimension implications)
If Sporting had the old president he'd have probably been sold for €20m or something stupid but now under Bruno de Carvalho I do think it's release clause price or nothing. There's no rush to raise funds for anything and he's on a long contract.
Would hate to see him leave Sporting normally as they're my local team back home but being as it's to United it's all good . Hope we do sign him regardless of price and I think we will if our interest is real, cracking player.
I already gave my opinion on this matter. I don´t think he will move. Our President is a very hard negotiator (as seen in the deals with Liverpool and Galatasaray for Ilori and Bruma), if he says that he will only leave for the clause, any deal will have to be close to these values. It´s very hard to call what´s going to happen but we already have the money for our yearly budget with the Champions League money, installments from transfer deals and tv money. We are in a good negotiating position.
On the other hand, we already bought two highly rated players for the midfield (Bulgarian Lampard Slavchev and Oriol Rosell). In the past it was easy to know what going on since our previous board has many "leaks" during the deals. With Bruno de Carvalho, it´s like a bunker and no one knows anything till the deals are done (as seen with Ryan Gould and Tanaka).
Was gonna suggest throwing Young and Tony V into the deal too but realised that when they reached the border, none of them would be able to cross!!

This is interesting. Are those players more ones for the future or ready to step right into the first team?
Before we all get too upset about the price, would the buyout not be 37m € ?
That's about £29m which is not far off the 20-25 most are saying is reasonable
