Where on earth would Juventus play him
Pogba's been linked with Madrid, he won't remain at Juventus too much longer. Pirlo, although aging like a fine wine, isn't getting any younger. Vidal has also been linked with everyone.

in case you have not seen him enough ....and this is against FC Porto

I've seen him on youtube but highlights can make most players seem impressive.. Cleverley vs Barcelona for example.

We will have to wait and see.. let's not forget how Anderson turned out shall we

there you goyou have seen him on youtube you should watch him live or should have watched him this season to see how he is one of the top talents out their .....on Anderson it has been said already he was always overhyped

His lack of pace would be a worry if we signed him.
he is not Ronaldo speed but he is not slow either he is pretty quick for a bulky CDM and he runs with pace and Power

He said today on Sky Sports that he'd like to stay at Juventus.

"I have a contract with Juventus, so what are we talking about? I want to continue to win here."

"And I never said I wanted to play for Real Madrid. I said Real Madrid and Manchester United are big clubs, like Juventus."

Admittedly my only reference is YouTube videos, but he never seems to burst forward. He strikes me more of a Makalele than a Toure. Would you say that's a fair assessment?

He bursts forward so maybe you need to watch some different games/videos. It's not a constant thing and he is more defensively oriented but he can definitely burst through the middle in a way that's strikingly similar to Yaya. I don't think it's an overreach to say he could definitely do so in the PL since he's only 22 - who knows how much stronger he'll be in future.

Of all the players United are linked to, this is the one I really want us to get. He is ideal for us and could be a key player for years

at the start of the season i would say it was a fair assessment tho as the season has gone on he bursts forward a lot more on "Yaya Toure" type runs and in our game vs Pacos he scored a good goal going forward and just overall he seems to do those power runs forward a lot more now he is still young and will improve that area of his game for sure

Ah, but Cleverley actually was good in that game. 'All touches' videos tend to not be too misleading, because the viewer knows exactly what editing has been done. They're only misleading in the sense that any player can have one good game. But they can't make a player look much more impressive than they actually were in the match.

similar positions?
Strootman is more attack minded sorta like Adrien Silva for Sporting and they have a fantastic understanding i feel both William and Strootman would do well together

I disagree. Film trailers make terrible films look better than they actually are. Player touches videos do likewise. You have to watch the whole game and also factor in other things like home/away, opposition, level of pressure etc to fully judge a player.

To fully judge a player... yes, I agree. But as long as the viewer keeps in mind that watching a player touch video isn't the same as watching a full game, then I think any reasonably intelligent person can deduce reliable information about a player from it.

Whereas with a career/season highlights type video ('Carvalho goals and skills 2013-14', for example), the person making the video can actually actively mislead by the way they edit it.

I totally agree with that. Some of those videos are like film trailers.

He looks like such a presence in the middle of the park (on YouTube). I'd just love us to have a player like that.

A worst case scenario will be that we overlook Carvalho just to give Carrick, Cleverly, Fletcher and/or Fellaini another go in our midfield and hope for improvement. If such a scenario happens, next summer or throughout the season it will be the same narrative towards why we have such a poor midfield.

Carvalho importance can not be stressed enough because neither of those players baring Carrick are good enough to start in our midfield. Carrick is even a question mark considering he is incapable of making the England team and is slowly declining. A squad role would be the best way to utilize him next season, in particular if we are going to buy another midfielder who is immobile.

I said a couple of weeks ago we'd stopped in our tracks on this one. I'll be very surprised if he ends up here.
