Oscar was excellent at the start of season, he still has future there. The ones that could leave and earn them big money are Luiz and Hazard - Hazard is an extremely talented player, Luiz is pretty crap admittedly (I don't understand why Barca seem keen on him).

Saying Hazard could be sold before Oscar is plain wrong from any football perspective.

Luiz is such a strange player. If you put together the physical attributes of an ideal centre half you'd pretty much come up with Luiz. Good in the air, strong, quick, tough in the tackle and good on the ball. But mentally he just doesn't seem to suit the position, goes AWOL positionally, loves to wander upfield and always has an error in him. He definitely doesn't suit Jose's system at centre half. Then he doesn't have the positioning or the tactical nous to play central midfield at the highest level, despite being a technically excellent footballer with a cracking shot and ability to pick a pass.

He's an enigma.
As is our Phil - just headless at times:rolleyes: Imagine them as a pairing :D

Wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a mystery wrapped in pubes.

Not from Mourinho's perspective. He's already prefered Oscar to Mata and openly criticised Hazard.

they could recoup 40-50 odd million on player sales!

By Selling who? Apart from Luiz I don't think anyone is realistically netting them much money. Cole/Lampard/Terry have contracts that expire in the summer so Chelsea won't be getting a fee for them if they move on and they'd probably let Torres go for free just to get him off the wage bill. Where does 50m come from unless they sell Lukaku as well?

I dont think hazard has quite lived up to the hype. I remember thinking this guy is the new messi the way people were talking about him, joe cole in particular. Both ourselves and city said he was over priced and i would have to agree. Hes still good, very good. I think hes more like iniesta than anything and the chelsea game does not suit him

No way would Torres go for free. Ba, Torres, Moses, Mikel, Bertrand, Marin, and Romeu will amount to a decent chunk. Plus Luiz like you say if they decide to cash in on him.

I don't even think Chelsea really need to sell like some people think. They still have money left over from the Mata and De Bruyne sales as well I believe. They can buy everyone they want and end up with little net spend.

I just read in the Daily Mail that City would receive £60m+ if they win the league, so I would assume Chelsea will get somewhere close to that plus whatever money they got for getting to the CL semi's and for getting back into the CL next season.

Already spent to be fair.

So you wouldn't take Hazard now for the fee Chelsea paid for him?

He's easily justified the price and more.

Mikel won't be going anywhere Chelsea are already short in CM numbers and even more so if Luiz is sold or Lampard let go. With Cole likely to be on his way out Bertrand won't be leaving either especially since he's also home grown. You'd be lucky to get 10m for Marin/Moses combined and Romeu is hardly worth much. Maybe Chelsea can use Torres to lower the price on Luis/Costa to save themselves a few million but it seems pretty clear they're taking FFP very seriously and I can't see them getting into a bidding war with United for a player who isn't a priority.

37m for Mata + 18m for De Bruyne = 55m. Matic for 21m + Salah for 11m = 32m. Don't think they've paid St Etienne yet for Zouma so they made a sizable profit during that window.

I just don't see any way they don't buy a new CM. There have been rumors all over the place saying Mikel may be off. I think they sell him, keep Lamps for 1 more season, and buy a top class CM to take Mikel's spot. Remember they also have Van Ginkel back from injury. Five players for those 2 positions is plenty. Bertrand has no future there in my opinion. Unless he's content with being a League Cup player.

Agree that they won't be in contention for Carvalho. Doubt he's even in consideration honestly.

Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reports today that Juventus has William Carvalho as one of their transfer targets and that they highly rate him

Do Juventus have that kind of money though? Or are they expecting Pogba to leave? I understand they are different types of players.

I'm not to sure Juventus would offer the amount of money United would unless like you said they are expecting a big sell in the summer

Along with fitting in with Pirlo, Pogba, Marchisio, Vidal, I think if we are interested we have much a better chance.

Juve can't compete with us on transfer fee's or wages. First he's linked with Madrid now Juve and it'll be Chelsea or City next. His agent is doing some good work.

I agree I've said many times I'm very sure he will go to the EPL he is made for that league now which team i don't know I firmly believe when he does leave Sporting let it be this year or next it will be to United I feel at United he could blossom as a player and become a very important player for them for many years to come with that said I do see him fitting in Arsenal as well but the Portuguese market is not one Wenger pays that much attention too

Yeah alot of interest but according to our President there are 0 offers. Don´t think we will see any major news before the World Cup but our league finishes this weekend, so next week can be interesting.

He's been linked with that many clubs now I think it's fair to say that none of us are interested, his agent is trying to maneuver their way to a bigger pay day,by claiming interest from a new club every week, which for a virtual unknown who has had 1 decent season in Portugal it is simply ludicrous.

Our scouts have watched him all year, and FYI he's pretty damn good.

What? What bigger pay day? He renewed recently. He isn´t getting a new contract. The reported interest comes from scouting missions from various top european clubs. Carvalho is a very good player with potencial to become a world class player. He is a portuguese internacional and will go to Brazil. He was more than decent this season and he will probably be crowned player of the year in Portugal. You don´t scout a player 20 times like United, unless you are a very interested in the player. Let´s see what your next Manager decides to do.

By the reported 20 United scouting missions at our Stadium

Why would that prove he's excellent, from the amount we've scouted him? What I'm getting at is Lu Tze is giving our scout's opinion when in reality, he doesn't have a clue.. I've never even heard anything official from United about him..

I'm not giving our scouts opinion...I'm giving my own.

How did you come up with that conclusion? I didn´t say it proves that he is excellent. I said it proves that United is interested if they scout a player so many times. Probably seeing how he evolves. If you weren´t interested one or two scouting missions would be enough. Not saying that United will follow up the interest but scouting a player 20 times shows something.

That proves Moyes' caution more than anything.

Might be. Or the continued interest by checking his potencial and evolution. It´s all speculation

No. It shows we are comprehensively evaluating a target. Can't see anything wrong with that and would imagine Fergie had his scouts similarly through.

This is Carvalho's first full season as a first team regular for Sporting after a couple of loans so it makes perfect sense to watch him regularly.

I'm pretty sure Fergie had a scout out in Mexico for months watching Hernandez.

Exactly. The only way you can evaluate players who are not known commodities is watch them regularly.

Considering the asking price, I'd be pissed off if we had not been thoroughly watching him play. Winning Portugal player of the year would be some achievement for a young defensive midfielder in his first full season of football for his club but he's unproven at the highest levels.

Bigger pay day = moving from Portugal to one of the top 3 leagues in Europe.
I'm not disputing his talent but the fact that his name is being thrown around all the top clubs usually indicates the players agent is getting his clients name out there to attract the highest bidders.
