We haven't signed him yet ? I disappoint.

Wonder whether we want him for a Young type squad role, or do we see him as a Hazard/Lucas type Marquee talent which we were after in the summer ?

I am more fine with it being the the first option rather then the 2nd. Mind you haven't seen him that much.

Plenty of videos out there but the best assessment seem to come from match reports which appear to be balanced.Have been reading about him for a while now and he would benefit with better players around him. He's now a bit to good for that division but leaving him for Palace's promotion push would be the best option. He can focus on the job at hand and always link up in Summer

Man United set to beat Arsenal to Zaha with Fergie ready to wrap up £12m deal
..Manchester United hope to have a £12million deal to bring Wilfried Zaha to Old Trafford wrapped up early this week.

The transfer of the 20-year-old forward will represent the biggest cash advance from a Premier League club to a Championship club in history - bigger than the fees paid to Southampton by Arsenal for Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

On his way: Zaha is expected to complete his move to United next week
Palace have always held out for £12m citing the fact Walcott had only played a few games for Saints in 2005 and that Oxlade-Chamberlain had not played at a higher level than League One before his move.

Zaha will earn £35,000-a-week at Old Trafford but will be sent back to Palace on loan until the end of the season. Arsenal are the other club in for him but he is expected to opt for United.

Star: Zaha has been in fine form this season for Palace
Zaha has been tracked by United boss Sir Alex Ferguson ever since he impressed in Palace's shock Carling Cup win at Old Trafford back in November 2011.

The Ivory Coast-born star has been in sensational form for Palace this season and made his England debut against Sweden in Novem

The best assessment imo is that Ferguson and Wenger wants him. You can say a lot about those 2 - but they rarely get talent wrong

Two last times when both were interested in the same player were Jones and Smalling. At least one of them is going to be a star for us, the other has been useful but the jury's still out on him.

We probably need him right now. We're suddenly looking a bit crap on wings.

Its strange isn't it? Nani and Valencia are quality players + Young is also good.

Iv seen the ''man united expect to sign Zaha in the next 24 hours'' headline for the past 2 weeks. At least they are consistent, they will probably be right one of these days.

Is he really good enough? Has anyone actually seen him play regularly?

Not regularly, maybe 5+ full games but mostly highlight shows of the championship.

If you call him "raw", you would probably say the same for Welbeck. For me, it's not all there yet but there is quality for something special. I would say, typically for a young player, the positive things he does gets highligted more than what he contributes overall in the 90min. I know his stats aren't as impressive as others in the championship, but it is more what he can do than the amount of times he has done it. For instance, Ince can cut in and score a few times, but that is a repititive thing. With Zaha, there is an unpredictability that could see him pull one back for a teammate or slap it into the back of the net when it didn't seem on. In the last game i saw him play, he slammed one into the top of the net from a tight angle in a similar manner to what Berbs did for Spurs against Arsenal a while back. He has decent pace but it's his strength and frame that makes him difficult to handle in a physical championship. At his age being difficult to push off the ball is rare i would think. How i see it, is he could take up Welbeck's role where he is asked to do a job these days and can offer a similar display of strength but with the end product currently lacking from his game. I don't think he is adverse to tracking back and helping out, and a defined role in the team will help him contribute for the entire game. Definitely ready for the premier league and worth a place at a top team in a similar manner to other English players who won't ever really be world class. The four of Nani, Young, Valencia and Zaha gives a better balance of types of wingers than selling and bringing in someone like Rodriguez imo.

To be fair we are still preparing the bid, perhaps Phelan has taken incentives from Sky Sports so that it's lodged on deadline day and Phelan gets a go in the helicopter.

 I would love to see Phelan flying in dramatically in a helicopter, and then sprinting inside the building once landing.

Manchester United have agreed a staggering £15 million deal to sign wonder kid Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.

Boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been backed by his money men in his bid to land the England starlet and Palace have accepted a fee that guarantees them £10 million.

The extra £5 million will come in appearances and achievements and the whole total is more than the Eagles could refuse for their young attacker.

Palace supremo Steve Parrish - the man who took the club out of administration - haggled for days to get the fee he wants and in the way he asked for.

The final sums are a triumph for the Championship side and also show just how badly Fergie wanted Zaha ahead of rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.

Zaha was given permission to discuss the move with his potential new boss and met him in a top London hotel on Sunday night.

The exciting young forward - an Arsenal fan - is happy to go to Old Trafford and the last detail will be whether he is returned to Palace on loan for the rest of the season.

Palace wanted Zaha to come back but United have paid so heavily for him that they have yet to sort out that major detail between them.

However Zaha will be a United player for years to come, with sources revealing he is signing a long-term deal that will see his wages start at TEN TIMES his current level of £150,000-a-year.

Surely that's the fifth time, a deal has been done for him?

Each time the price has been different.

What...£15m!!!

They wanted £12m and we've somehow agreed £15m, crazy!!

I'm sorry but if we're paying anything like 15m then we should not be loaning him back. If it was around 7m sure thing maybe but paying that much and loaning someone back is stupid talk. He'll actually come in just as handy for us in the run in and give us another good wide option.

Not really. If the stories true, 10 million is less then 12m. If we have to pay an additional 5 due to others clauses it don't matter as he will playing games. His value will shoot up.

Nah, it's just different papers with no Idea.

So either we have signed him or the deal is on the brink of collapse...isn't that obvious :)

It's obvious Phelan lost count of the money, we overpaid, now have no money for the kits (hence the Bugs bunny PJ's from Poundland) and are now headed to Qatar to borrow a few quid from the Qatari royal family and when we come back, preparations begin anew. It might be a while still.

For anything above £12m he should not be loaned back to them.

We like to pay over the odds for young emerging talents.

That's cheap for a British talent. Usually, it's thirty-million quid just for someone's sock.

We should demand that he gets rid of that second 'i' in 'Wilfried'.

A reminder what Holloway said about him: "Have I seen a better player in my life? I have worked with some very good ones. But I don't think I have seen anyone do what he can do."

He would make a good salesman, we should give him a job in our marketing team.

He was just as effusive about Charlie Adam and he's a fat mess.
