Do people actually believe that Zaha would perform any worse considering some of the dogshit served up by Kagawa, Young and Valencia on the flanks? Can anyone point to me to the benefits of having Kagawa on the left?

Based on what I've seen so far I would guess a few stepovers and then he'd end up losing the ball to the full back? So perhaps he'd be marginally worse than what we've seen from others this season.

While that might sound harsh all it really says is that we haven't seen him enough yet.

He's listed as a sub. So good chance to see him texting his mates and generally looking pissed off.
Ha, sorry, figured he was starting when I saw the squad. Good lord.

Rested for Wednesday?

Matt Holland on Talksport believes that he is on the bench as a punishment for his disaffected attitude.

He could be quite a lot worse. Judging by his cameos, he's nowhere near ready.

Would you consider his Championship form for Palace to be worse than the Premiership form of United's established wingers?

Pretty sure Valencia and Young would have a field day in the Championship in fairness.

It's incomparable and irrelevant. Our wingers would tear that league apart.

From everything I've heard and read, Zaha isn't not only up to scratch as a footballer just yet, but he's not got the mentality. It'd do him more harm than good to put any pressure on him.

If we were playing well then he'd have got his chances when the pressure is off. I think it's as simple as that.

Perhaps SW can shed some light on this but in one of those Everton fan interviews that appeared on here; one interviewee said that Moyes always had his firm favourites at Everton and there were always some players who he fell out with or didn't fancy immediately

Aye, like pocco says, most managers have their favourites however there were times when i felt he didn't really rotate as well as he could have/he decided to rotate or try something different at odd moments.

Sounds like every manager ever.

Not really. Fergie gave almost everyone a fair crack of the whip, there were a number of players who he gave a crazy amount of chances to. We had the longest average player stay in Europe under Fergie.

I'm sure he'll get his chance and I doubt very much that he dislikes him, unless he's still a bit of a prat.

He played him in preseason and in his first competitive game in charge against Wigan. Unless the other coaches have an issue with him too, as they've spoken of the issues with Zaha. His attitude at Palace sounds similar to that of Ravel Morrison.

Zoran Tosic

Tosic on his time at United

“I spoke with Sir Alex many times and he kept telling me I had quality and just had to keep working hard. “But I wanted to play more games so went to Cologne in Germany on loan and had a great six months there. “When I came back to Manchester I was expecting to play more games for United but it didn’t happen. “In the end I wasn’t sure I was going to get the chance I felt I deserved so decided to change club. Even now I am always thinking about that moment. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so quick and should have worked longer to show Sir Alex.
“Maybe I should have stayed and fought for my place. This was Man United after all.” “My relationship with Sir Alex was good. He is like that with all the players. He wants them to feel happy and that’s one reason why he is so successful. “He is an excellent man-manager. My time in Manchester did not go as I had hoped but I never had a problem with Sir Alex. “There is nothing worse than feeling isolated when you are not in the first team but Sir Alex always took time to speak to me and explain things. I appreciated that a lot.”

Fergie wanted him to stay but Tosic chose to leave, it was hardly a case of Fergie freezing him out because he didn't fancy him.

He's in danger of building up the same sort of myth as Kagawa has playing off the front man.

The less we see of him the better he gets.

You are probably right. Zaha probably needs to get his head down and work to prove himself. I just feel a little uncomfortable with some of the things that appear to be happening with the squad. I always felt that Fergie's greatest strength was the faith that he showed in his staff and players. Now that Moyes seems to want to deconstruct and replace everything it just seems counter-intuative juxtaposed against what we are used to.

With those two playing and RVP & Rooney fit and firing we'd walk the lague.

We will need to pay more money to Palace based on appearances, and our owners are penny pinchers. Where the fcuk is the mystery?

Didn't even think of that.

He's also being criticised for rotating too much and showing too much faith in Valencia and Young, though. There's a fair few things I'm not happy about with Moyes' time so far, but Zaha not playing much is quite low on the list.

I hate what is happening to United my favourite team. Have a look at Ed Woodwards main signings since taking over. This only comes up to mid November since then we have had Aeroflot and spritz drinks.
June 11: Guillermo Varela signs from Atletico Penarol
July 1: TrueMove H - Official mobile partner for Thailand
July 1: TrueVisions - Official MUTV broadcaster for Thailand
August 21: Apollo Tyres - Official Tyre partner in UK and India
August 21: Hong Kong Jockey Club - Official Partner
August 28: Federal Tyres - Official Tyre partner in Russia and Taiwan
September 2: Marouane Fellaini signs from Everton
September 2: Saidy Janko signs from FC Zurich
September 18: Commercial Bank of Qatar - Official Financial Service partner in Qatar
September 18: Emirates NBD Bank - Official Financial Service partner in Emirates
November 4: Unilever - Official Personal Care and Laundry Partner in South East Asia
November 11: STC (expanded deal) - Official Integrated Telecommunications Partner for Saudi Arabia
November 12: Bulova - Global watch partner.
Looks like he spent the summer hiring Jockey clubs and tyre partners no wonder we are looking fcuked.

So we've now got people comparing Zaha with Ravel Morrison? Where is the basis for such in his off-field activities? Are the greater assumptions being made about his character or potential contribution here?

Check out Ashley Young's 05/06 season for Watford. Might look familiar.

Maybe time will show that to be a fair comparison and maybe it won't, however the context of where the team finds itself presently remains the same. There is more to hope for in the player seen at Palace or during pre-season than there is being delivered by the status quo.

 We'll stick our name on anything.

to all personnel working at Carrington:: Put Wilfred Zaha on the same regime that your predecessors put Ronaldo in 2005..now..

The two are eerily similar. The thing Ronaldo had was the ambitions not to stay still but always try to be better, and on the other hand was guided to the right path by the club which was equally important to his development.. But this guy has something way over Cristiano at the same age; his body structure is amazingly impressive and strong and even with that he is able to accelerate quickly and keep his balance with the ball.

Even the fact that Ronaldo is the closest comparison to him is a achievement itself. I remember Charles Barkley, when comparing LeBron James to Michael Jordan say, that LeBron has almost everything MJ had but with a more perfect body.

We cannot afford not to see what kind of a monster this guy could turn out. Him AND Januzaj alone gives us the upper hand to every other team in Europe if everything goes well with their development..

fecking hell, what a post. Is that you Wilfried?

Zaha has great quality. There is no benefit for him to be playing reserves. He was playing in the championship. If his mentality is right, he'll be a top player for the club. He's still raw but he has the ability that young and Valencia don't have. I'm hoping we see him feature soon because I think with Nani out, we need another spark of genius and yes he's got it.

@ Doctoroffhisrocker

Ronaldo is probably the most dedicated professional footballer in the world. He exudes a sincere and unrelenting desire to be the greatest player who ever lived. He has always put in the extra yards of hard work to go with his talents.

I am pretty sure if Zaha was of similar nature the he would be getting games for us. Hell, if he was like Ronaldo I think that Moyes would still play him even if he was sleeping with his wife.

Ronaldo certainly is/was not the most dedicated.. Someone who don't have the natural talent or the physical aspect in him, but who trains like a madman and is able to reach his level(to some it's the Premier League, to other just the fact that football pays the bills) is much more dedicated than a player who has now been the best footballer for 2-3 years. There was the gift, it just had to be carved out. Cristiano always had the desire but it was SAF, Clegg, Queiroz and the rest of the staff that got him to explode.

So it's his fault for being great at securing sponsorship deals that bring (or they should) money for the club or it's owners who are absolute Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime for hiring guy who's clueless about transfers yet brilliant in another branch ?

Hatred for Woodward here is just fecking absurd at times.

Apollo Tyres - Official Tyre partner in UK and India
Hong Kong Jockey Club - Official Partner
Federal Tyres - Official Tyre partner in Russia and Taiwan

Even I could do that. What I couldn't do is pay 27 for Fellaini when he had a release clause for less a month earlier.

Only in your little deluded imaginary world I'm afraid.

Probably wrong man on the wrong post but it was not him who picked himself there but Glazers fecking it up or believing that this man will learn his new duties and deal with them as well as he did with the sponsoring contract. To try to downplay what he has done prior to his new post is just silly.

 How fecking hard do you think it is to persuade the Hong Kong Jockey club be an official partner of Manchester United? Talk about deluded..

You do realise Woodward also gets them to pay a lot of money for the privilege?

No doubt that his confidence is at a low.Don't know what the situation is with the loan, but he desperately needs game time.
