If this is true then he might as well pack his bags now.
That story seems just a bit too perfectly tabloid to be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but. If it is then surely Ducker or one of his esteemed colleagues will ask Louis about it at the next presser. Until then I reckon I'll stay off the bandwagon.

He would just get the reply that was given in the last presser when they asked him about Herrera. "I don't talk about individual players, only the team."

Doubt he'd answer the question anyway. Van Gaal wouldn't slate his players in public, at least I think he wouldn't.

Probably true, but if nobody even asks him about it then either the whole thing's somehow been exaggerated or every journo following the tour is a eunuch.

At which point Elliott would come back and claim it was bullshit all along. The guy has a bit of a hard on for Zaha.

I think he's a very talented player but he's obviously got some issues. I'm not saying this is untrue, I'm saying it seems a bit far-fetched and as such I'm reserving judgment until what will inevitably arise in the wake of this - if true - arises. I think that's a fair enough assessment. In fact, I pride myself on fair assessments. You, for instance, are either 13 years old or not that bright.

Bearing in mind your own burning desire to repeatedly defend another (allegedly) stupid yet talented young footballer (Ravel Morrison) from any and all criticism that's a little harsh. At least Elliot can claim he's inclined to back young footballers who play for the club he supports. What's your excuse?

I must admit that I don't believe every story I read in the papers. I hope for his sake it is not true. I find the fact that he was taken on the tour and not left with the U21 squad to be a reason to cast doubt over this stories validity.

It is no coincidence that this story broke the day after he was one of only a hand full of players to not feature in the Galaxy game.

Good point.

Although I guess Van Gaal might have thought the hooplah caused by leaving him out entirely wasn't worth the hassle.

@Elliott attack the post, not the poster, please. Thank you.

@pocco the last bit is rather unnecessary, don'tcha think? At the very least you can pharse it better and avoid goading posters into insulting you.

I think it's silly stories like that. Even if it is true then it's not a game being played by the United staff & Sport Scientists to see who's committed etc. If they needed to train that day, then they would of. They obviously appreciate the need for some rest during pre-season to make sure they are in optimal condition by time the season comes along, running them into the ground for 4-5 weeks isn't ideal.

There seems to be a lot of stories regarding Zaha. It does seem his attitude and application is slightly off, relating back to his old tweets and his time at United thus far but he's still young and he can turn it round. He needs to know what he's going to waste as he's a talent that can be developed by United and LvG into a top top player.

I don't think he's all that talented anyway. A waste but I don't think we're losing out on a potential superstar. Disappointed but not that bothered in all honesty.
Agreed.

This is not the first time we're hearing about his dedication and attitude problems. Guy needs to be sold.

feck these mind games. If LvG wanted everyone to train on that Saturday he should have specified.

I must admit, I did think back to our earlier conversation about Zaha every time he was starting scuffles on the pitch and moaning whilst at Cardiff. He kind of took a massive shit on your defence of him really, yet you still can't see the wood from the trees.

Anyway, carry on. I'll bait you all day and you'd continue to bite and try to insult me, yet you try to claim I lack intelligence. This is great.

That's not really the point. I support Zaha every time he pulls on the shirt, thats my part done. If I see a player of ours and think he's got a terrible attitude, I'll say it. I'm entitled to do that. Since I first made this observation (from watching him multiple times for our reserves and England youth), it has become widely accepted that he's got a pretty poor attitude.

I think the problem was that nobody wants to hear this about our latest signing, which he was at the time. Whilst I did defend Morrison a lot, I always thought I was called it fairly. Bad attitude off the pitch, showed maturity on it.

He was a big doubt had we played 4-3-3 but now he's even a greater doubt in a 3-4-1-2. If I was the manager and I wanted to give game time to a young player up front in that system, I would choose the more talented, more hard-working Januzaj over him up front.

Morrison and Zaha were as bad as each other during the U-21s spat. Actually, that's kind to Morrison, who was the only player that raised his hand and risked being sent off. I think you're showing your own bias in the way you describe the two players.

I don't know either of them and am judging them entirely on hearsay but there's no way you can reasonably criticise one for having a bad attitude but not the other.

I think the reason he is on tour is to preserve any transfer value he has left.

I think we need to just go easy on Zaha. People assume he's got an 'attitude', he might just not be that bright. I think that he just needs an arm round him and not hands round his neck for every little mistake. Some have turned on him and I think that's pretty harsh. We know the guy has great potential and I hope under LVG he realises that potential.

He's the kind of winger we all love at the end of the day. He's obviously desperate to show he's good enough and that's fine.

If he justified his lack of brain and attitude by at leats beeing a freaking genius on the pitch his behaviour could at least be a bit excused. But all the guy is is a very raw footballer. Talent is there but he really hasnt impressed me that much whenever I have seen him. Get a grip guy and work your balls off.

Guy just needs a break, with the system we are going to play doubt it will for us for the foreseeable future though, he signed for 5 years though so 12-18 month loan to Newcastle, Southampton, or Everton even could be the way to go, if he flourishes we will get alot more for him than now, or we keep him, if he doesn't then no real harm done, can only be worth £5 million or so as it stands now.

Shame really I though he was going to be great for us this time last year.

It's ridiculous how many English talents have been ruined by their lack of work ethic, some of these players don't even know what discipline and hard work means. This is totally opposite to the work ethic of the Germans. I've yet to see any of the new generation of English players having the same kind of work ethic as the likes of Beckham, Scholes, Rooney and Lampard.

In some senses I agree with this, but to be honest, in other ways I just feel English talent gets completely overrated these days. A few good games and people think they're fantastic. I haven't seen a whole pile from Zaha to make me think he's all that good to be perfectly honest. Obviously I don't see him on the training pitch, and haven't evaluated him in the way our scouts would have done, but I just don't have a great hope that he's going to turn into a player for us. If he's sold I won't lose a moment's rest.

Every time its always some attitude issues with him, and its getting fecking annoying. If this is true I'd be glad if he fecked off, never liked him in the first place and don't think he has the potential to make it here as a top player anyway. Feck we would have been better off signing bloody Dwight Gayle instead of this twat. The last year alone has been a rollercoaster with him, the issues with Moyes, being useless at Cardiff and in the England squad fighting with his own teammate

Same. Looks like he can be decent but nothing special and no better than any of the other speedy English wingers that are always touted as the next thing and never amount to much. Don't see anything in him to separate him from the likes of Tom Ince and Nathan Redmond. He isn't even close to the likes of Sterling or Oxlade Chamberlain. Can't help but think he is as a big an idiot as Ravel with half the talent.

Zaha pushed Ravel back at about neck level so he did raise his hands.

Wait, that's what this is about? Some argument we had regarding a completely different situation...what...8 months ago? 10? A year? I didn't even recall that was you, mate, and here you bring it up after all this time, having continually thought about it while Zaha started phantom scuffle after phantom scuffle at Cardiff. Bless. Guess I'll just have to learn how to live with your ruthless baiting and my incessant biting.

Also, wood for the trees. We all make mistakes. Don't let it linger on your mind for 10 years.

Agreed though I even think that both of those two are ahead of him.

I don't believe this nonsense. Zaha's not stupid. He would show up cause I believe he wants the opportunity.

Wasn't there rumours of Newcastle making a £7m bid? cash in and get rid, what a terrible signing.

What a load of crap. Some of the stuff I've read I'm sure is taken from the Big Ron Football annual 1974. Anytime I read attitude, invariably I've read Sterling, Sturridge, Zaha, Nani.....

Half the time, wheres the evidence and its hardly a revelation "young player must work harder to reach his potential"!!!!

Me too, I wanna believe he isn't that stupid.
This is the guy who showed up to a reserve match late getting himself dropped from the starting line-up. This may not be true but it isn't too big a stretch to think he is indeed that stupid.

Sadly, I think this is true. I don't think he's extremely talented and that he'd be a world-beater if he did realise his potential, but there's a lot about him that could be crafted into a very, very good player but I don't think we'll ever see it.
