I wonder, if CP agrees to waive all bonuses, that's about 5M which makes our fee for Zaha effectively 10M, and then pay us around 6-7M which exactly Zaha's value now, given that he spent one year of a 5-year contract in MU already.

Should we then sell?

With everything that happened, and how Zaha conducted himself i am not sure we should keep him. I am not overwhelmingly in favor of the sale, but like a 60-40 percent in favor.
Sure LVG will take a look at him and decide. But if he will not take his chances it will me much harder to sell him afterwards.

I'd wait and see on Zaha. It's not as if he's an established player with no more development possible and has a long history with bad attitude. We'll just have to wait and see whether van Gaal prefers him or not based on his footballing ability and willingness to play for the team and system.

Genuinely forgot he's a player of ours.

This is simply going by this season alone, but he seems the type where a player's attitude will hinder his talent. I don't see him making it here. Reckon he'll be pushed out on loan again, and we will eventually sell him for half the price.

I dont understand why we write any player off after one season and equally, I dont know why we write him off after that season, under that manager......

he has great ability. We should welcome him back and give him a chance.

Dont write people off after a season Guys :nono:

Would be ridiculous to move him on so soon. He's obviously got an abundance of raw talent and I'm sure LVG would like the opportunity to work with him and mould him into the type of winger that he wants.

With all the comments about his talent there is nobody better than LVG at making football easy for him. Under LVG you don't have to think at all, you have a clear practiced role in every situation pretty much which I think can help players like Robben/Zaha/Nani who got endless natural talent but never possessed the same amount of tactical talent.

Wow! Could you imagine if this had actually happened? Spurs would've been a laughing stock.

Personally I think we should keep him, the potential is there he just needs to get his head out of the clouds and realise that this is the biggest opportunity he will ever get to make it as a top player.

him and powell even not good enough for the first team should be probably kept.. All they need now is discipline and someone like van Gaal who will work on them mentaly..

I genuinely forgot he played for us. Fingers crossed going forward, although I still remain doubtful.

I'm not sure about great talent, but he's definitely better than the majority of the posters in this thread were making out. I could see it going either way, either Van Gaal could run the rule over him and if he decides he has some character flaws that people were suggesting he has in here, move him on and replace him. On the other hand I dont think his stock has fallen as much as has been suggested and a good team that simply arent as big as United would give him a chance. A team like Everton for example.

I think there is a decent player in there that just needs a massive kick up the arse.

He can take Young's place. No real loss if he's as shit. I am genuinely excited about all our youngsters under LVG.

He has a lot of raw ability and he could potentially be a very good player, I think the best thing to do would be to loan him back to palace. He would be comfortable there and if he could improve his attitude and consistency there might be some hope for him but he has a long way to go.

Could save us some money. I know that sounds silly as he cost us a fair bit and has barely played, but still. I never understood why Moyes was so unwilling to give him a chance in his debut season. Had he been here a while and not produced the goods you'd understand but it always seemed to me as if there was a resentment towards the player, possibly because he was signed, yet never played, by Fergie. Perhaps there was a "Well I didn't sign you" animosity there. It's easier to take that out on a young kid who had walked into the place the same day as you had, than it was with the entire inherited squad.

LVG needs to try and get the best out of the lad before we sell him, if anybody can get him on the right track it is LVG and nobody has questioned Zaha's raw talent. Backed up by both Ole and Fergie in that regard.

I don't get why so many are completely writing him off? Definitely didn't cover himself in glory last season but there are plenty of mitigating circumstances. First season at such a huge club, as well as first season in the Prem, where everything is going completely tits up and the manager clearly has zero faith in you.

I think he can be a good player and I hope it happens here.

I don't think we'd write any of our players off without the staff all in agreement and the player himself wanting to leave.

Zaha won't be going anywhere imo. We'll see the young players leaving in January or next Summer.

If he goes, use him in part exchange for a player from a premier league team. Zaha + whatever money for Coleman, Barkley, Bentaleb or Schneiderlin or Lovren, or something along those lines.

Zaha + money for Bentaleb? Looks decent but I'd rather play Rothwell or Pearson. Yes to any of the others though and agree with the concept , should look for another young player in exchange for him.

I don't really care what we do with him. Has never impressed me much so don't care if we let him go and he's still young so giving him another chance won't do any harm. As long as we don't give him a chance for 5-6 years.

I can understand why selling Fellaini would make sense, but Zaha would just be idiocy. He hasnt even been given a proper chance. I'm slightly worried for Powell aswell, seems those Ferguson bought wont get a shot.

I would relax, if there is anything LVG is unquestionable at it is giving the youth a chance regardless of their age. I can see Zaha and Januzaj playing as our wingers next season or Zaha having an important rotational role and if he doesn't then I am quite confident he isn't worth it for us.

I'd like to see how he works under Van Gaal

He got a bit of a reputation for thinking he made it which Van Gaal will not tolerate

He was shite last year but has the pace, skill and physique to be a dangerous attacking player

I think we might have seen a different Zaha last season under Fergie - he was every bit as good as Januzaj in our preseason tour

I believe so too. If an experienced and competent manager would have had their hands on him it would have been much easier for him to accept what was said to him. I doubt Moyes made a lot of sense to any of the players, Zaha included, so hopefully with LVG here he won't question him and he'll start doing exactly what LVG says.

LVG also has the advantage of giving out exact instructions on how you play your role, something very unlike SAF and Moyes, and this is a huge help to developing players as they know exactly what to do and they won't need to think. Young players and players who are bad with their decision making in general benefit so much from having these exact instructions as they rarely run in to scenarios they haven't already been taught how to react in.

Zaha is not a mentally challenged child on his first year in school and Moyes is not a clown. It is okay for a young player to have an underwhelming first year at a new club if they show the right attitude and promise to improve. I wish people would forget about his preseason last year which in all honesty has a terrible value as a sample to judge his quality. His situation will be assessed by people with a lot more to go by than we do.

I'd take £7m all day long he wont make it here, it was a bad signing lets move on.
