Wilfried Zaha - Sold to Crystal Palace

I think Zaha would be quite happy with not coming back in the summer. As alistair said earlier in the thread, he's probably fuming at his treatment by us and totally disillusioned with Manchester United. I really wouldn't be surprised if he never played for us again, especially after this.

We'd be daft to let him go without giving him a chance. Better to loan him out to a club for the first part of next year so he can continue to get minutes in the Prem. I'm sure Ole wouldn't mind, assuming he keeps them up.

Waste of money in my view. Nowhere near as good as he seems to think he is. He's a circus act, and not one of the Robinho/Denilson calibre either. I've always said on here that he was the worst of the young English wingers like himself, Ince and Sterling. He seems to think he is a genius on the basis that he was Palace's best player.

Please surprise me Wilf, but at present, I wouldn't bet on it. We could do with a young winger with speed and skill too, which makes it more of a shame.

How do you put it right, sack the manager and then if they don't like the new manager, they pull the same tricks again. Sit them all down and lay down the law? It's an awkward one. If he gets new players will they like his methods or is it just the players being soft. That they have been mollycoddled for so long.

No, the ones who've gone against the manager need to be shown the door, no 2 ways about it. There's no discussion to be had there. Its the rest and their fears/doubts that needs to be discussed. SAF is like a father figure to most of them so his words will mean a lot. If things settle down after that, great. But if the entire squad isnt happy with MOyes's methods or leadership and the doubts are genuine, he has to go am afraid. We cannot let go of top proven players to back a manager who hasnt proven upto the task yet.

Jesus wept - people are making out as if Moyes treated Zaha violently or something. Moyes didn't play him - so that gives Zaha the right to be an unprofessional dickhead? Nice logic.

This situation, as well as his couple of performances for Cardiff shows to me anyway that he isn't ready for us yet - whether he will be is another question.

Couldn't agree more. A dud with an attitude.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was on the bench for Cardiff in their next game, he was woeful v Swansea.

Just saw this thread. Zaha acting like an absolute odious little cnut. Unsurprisingly some posters taking any opportunity they can to have a dig at Moyes though.

How was he with our reserves this year? I know many are going on about how he should have been "given" a chance. He looked okay in the preason. Only time I saw him with the first team in the regular season he was not that impressive. If he was not oustanding with the reserves then it probably goes a long way to explain his lack of first team playing time.

Money down the drain in signing him. His attitude is well above his ability it seems.
His loan to Cardiff will all but confirm that he isn't good enough for United. I was very surprised when we signed him.

I was always surprised at this signing simply because Fergie bought him even though he knew he was retiring before the player would arrive. I would have thought we'd have held off any buys until the new manger came in. He has raw ability but there are big question marks over his attitude by the looks of things, I wouldn't be that surprised if he moves on permanently in the summer.

I'm surprised people calling him cnuts and names. How dare he question why the manager has shown very little faith in him, when our current wingers have hardly set the world alight.

I'd be furious if I was him seeing Young and Valencia constantly in the team and him not getting a look in.

Solskjaer seems to be handling him fine. Holloway didn't have a problem with his attitude and he'd be the first one to say anything if he did.

Sad but true.

Why does he need to air it publicly?

Because he's immature. Like many of the posters on here, incidentally.

Throwing a fecking hissy fit because the manager doesn't "have faith" in him. He's acting like a self-righteous, entitled child who is seeking some attention/sympathy/recognition by playing up. It's sad, really.

Not setting anything alight here. Also, Solskjær seems about right when it comes to his defending - he doesn't do it. I also fail to see what amazing attributes he possesses. He doesn't run past players, doesn't dribble very well, but he looks quite strong and does seem to have an eye for the killer pass.

Did you see his hissy fit when a player didn't pass to him from a somewhat impossible angle? It was like watching Berbatov on steroids.

Give the lad a break, he's young and immature, he will learn. I'll be disappointed if we get rid quickly.

I would be disappointed myself, given the money we have spent on him. Lets be honest though, it hasn't gone well for him so far.

He clearly has potential, lots of it, but so do plenty of young players. It's putting it all together that matters and I have serious doubts that he will. I wasn't his biggest fan while he was at Palace and certainly didn't expect him to get a move as big as he got. I expected a mid-table team to take a punt and see what happened from there.

I'm amazed he's still on. Touched the ball three times this half and given it away every time, twice in very dangerous areas. Although in saying that everyone in red has been dreadful this half.

Off now anyway after a poor display. The only positive was his early through ball to Campbell. I reckon Ole made up his mind at half time about that one.

Unreal save from Marshall there. Top class. One of the saves of the season for me. Cardiff not looking good at all. Zaha was very unimpressive up to being subbed.

It's a toss up between Zaha and Jones as to who was the worst player on the pitch, I'm giving it to Jones though because he's managed to sustain his poor level for longer.

Again, let him have his run of games then lets see if hes terrible. A bit of overexcitement when he made a good impact off the bench the first time and then a couple of poorer outings. It shouldnt be too surprising considering he's young and has barely played

He's a very talented player who need harnessing. He'd be in good hand under the previous coaching staff, I'm not so sure about the current one.
I would dispute the assertion that he's talented. Some potential, yes, but that's all. If his attitude doesn't change he'll never improve.

There is a somewhat unsavoury tone to some of the posts in here IMO, a few people would rather have their preconceived opinions about Zaha justified than see a young player prosper. Better that they can enter a thread with an "i told you so" than Fergie's last major signing bear fruit.

If United try to make it work but it doesn't happen then fair enough although i wouldn't consider the last six months as falling under such a description.

I would trust the judgment of the people who saw him every day in training. They clearly felt he didn't merit a place in the first team.
