Spent his entire career at Palace didn't he?

Aside from the lad himself is anyone really that shocked that he may not be ready to play for a club like Utd and might need to gain a little experience?

Can the club introduce a ban on twitter ffs.

I think Fergie bought Zaha with an eye to using him in the first team this season, and of more relevance to Moyes i think the player arrived with those very expectations. The last loan back to Palace was likely the last one Wilf though eh woudl make, at least for a while.

I still don't get why Moyes didn't loan out Zaha.

In August, Moyes knew he had at least three wide men -- Valencia, Young and Nani. He knew he had another potential wide man but not really a natural winger -- Kagawa. He knew something about Januzaj, who of course proved to be brilliant. In a pinch, Moyes knew he could periodically call upon Giggs, and he has.

So when was Zaha ever going to get playing time? If his performances in August didn't convince Moyes to give Zaha a shot, what would have been the point of caging him at Carrington?

Who cares what Wilf thought. The only thing he should have been thinking is 'fecking hell I've just signed for the biggest club in the world, I better get my head down and not blow it.'

Either way, he's spent his entire career being coached and developed by a championship team, I don't think its a huge controversy to suggest the plan may have been, or may have turned into - get him in for 6 months first team coaching then send him out to get some experience in the PL.

How many 19 year olds have stepped up from a championship club and got games for a top 4 team straight away in, say, the last 15 years

Maybe to get a better look at him in training for a few months... wild suggestion I know.

He has all the attributes to be a very good player, even if he is a bit raw. If Fergie was here i imagine he would already be gaining plaudits, a shame for him that the manager who signed him was replaced with Moyes, but i get the feeling he will be at United long after Moyes is gone, he is still a big talent.

United's an absolute circus these days. Playing like dicks on the pitch and acting like dicks off it. Ban all social media ffs.

Wish the season would just end tomorrow.

He wasn't necessarily having a dig at Moyes. Can he not praise Ole without it being a sly dig at Moyes? Perhaps he's just happy to have a manager who is willing to give him a chance. He can't appreciate that publicly?

Even if it's simply intended as praise for Ole, it takes a second's thought to realise how it could be interpreted. It's just more needless negative press. He's not doing his United career any favours either.

If it was innocent we need to send him to remedial reading classes, never mind Cardiff on loan.

I get what you're saying though, there are sections of fans who will blame Moyes for everything but the rain, and that's only a bad result away.

We are going to Portugal for a few days and they have had a terrible weather this year.

I won't lie, when I said 'sections of fans' I was mainly thinking of you.

This whole "controversy" is stupid. Zaha never said a word about Moyes, but because he's has been crap, everyone is jumping on the post as if he eviscerated Moyes on social media. Compliments aren't a zero-sum game. He can praise Ole without it being an insult to Moyes. The Moyes White Knights are looking for something to jump on as much as his detractors are.

Yep thats a fair point. Again I agree with you, we could win 9-0 away to City tomorrow and you'll get people finding fault right not. All the more reason though why the likes of Zaha should just stay away from the likes of twitter.

I dunno, but I reckon he knew exactly what he was doing. 'Nice to have someone who believes in you...' well the obvious response to that it 'as opposed to?'. If Zaha, who has no doubt had countless briefings about media interaction, doesn't realise that, well, I reckon we should be making sure someone else changes his studs for him from now on.

Nope. People will defend him if/when we'll get thrashed by Arsenal though.

Anyway, finally I agree with you about something :D It looks clearly to me that it was a deliberate comment on Moyes and even if not, it would have been easy to see (before he wrote it) that it can be uunderstood by a lot of people as a dig on Moyes.

The difference being that, if it was intentional, I think Zaha should be hauled across the coals for it, regardless of whether Moyes is the worst manager to ever walk the face of the earth.

Rooney made much worst comment before, but some in here want him to be the Captain. Now Zaha made one that could be interpreted differently, and sounds like he should be castrated. :D

Why make a stupid comment like that? Of course we don't know what is going in in the background, but he is at one of the biggest clubs in the world at 21, so what if he hasn't been given much chance? Man the feck up, shut the feck up and work your socks off on loan rather than make stupid comments like this, because more likely than not this will be noted by Moyes.

It was a sly dig, and we don't need shit like this. If he thinks he's Pele's right Bollock then he can go play for a midtable club, don't need that whiny mentality.

All of these comments from Zaha to Chicharito to Rio may be pointed or may be not, and are certainly open to various interpretations and ambiguities. It's not as if any have criticised Moyes directly, or even named him. I would ignore them for that reason and judge the players on their commitment and performance when training and playing football, and I hope Moyes will do so too.

We never had such ambiguous tweets and Instagram posts from Rio and Chicharito under Ferguson, did we? Something is up.

We had a lot of good players wanting to leave though. It doesn't really mean anything. As that article said today, there's a few players that know where they're heading and they're probably not too pleased about it.

We don't know what goes on behind the scenes - for all we know Moyes has been a right tw*t to Zaha. At least Zaha isn't trying to leave....twice...

A bit extreme perhaps? It isn't that he was treated well (only 60 minutes of gameplay and then wasn't left to go on loan until the last day).

What is important though is that (regardless if we continue with Moyes or not) the club should tell both the manager (the players are mentally soft) and the players (Rio, Zaha, Chicha etc) to keep these things at home.

MUFC is turning into a circus. Regardless of what anyone might think of Moyes I´m sure that he´ll be here for atleast two more seasons. I think that Moyes and the board has to sit down with the players and ask them straight out, if they want to play for this club and it´s fans and if they will show and feel pride over wearing that famous shirt. If any player says no or hesitates they should feck them right off and then start the rebuilding in the summer. This season is fecked anyway so I don´t care if we put out some youngsters from now on aslong as they are proud to be at the biggest most glamourous club in the whole world

After 6 months at the age of 21 and not even an established player? He seems the sort of character who would try to leave, when he becomes more established, if he makes comments like that.

Dig at Moyes? I think it obviously was, although he was quick to deny it - “My last Instagram picture was not intended as a dig or indirect dig at my manager, I have nothing but respect (for him)”

I think Zaha would be quite happy with not coming back in the summer. As alistair said earlier in the thread, he's probably fuming at his treatment by us and totally disillusioned with Manchester United. I really wouldn't be surprised if he never played for us again, especially after this.

At the end of the day it's just another sign that Moyes has lost the dressing room this season which I always feel is the cardinal rule you can't break as a manager.

Even the greatest managers can lose the dressing room, and when you do, that's it. It's curtains for you, whether it's your fault or not. Just look at Clough at Leeds. He's one of the greatest British managers to have ever lived, yet he lasted less than a year there.

I'm not intellectual enough to know who Donald Sinden is. Rephrase the joke, as if you were talking to a child.

 Nah, it's not that, mate - Sinden was famous some decades ago so, if you're young, you might not get the reference. :)

Good God!

How are you 'sure' that Moyes will be here for another 2 years?

What if the majority of players say no?

This is time to be pragnatic and not romantic. We'll get fecked by being romantic

PS: United is neither the biggest nor the most glamorous club in the world. The closest club to be the biggest and most glamorous is Real Madrid. So that was a arrogant comment. They sign our best player while we can't even dream to sign their best player. If both of us go for the same player, they're gonna get him. Anyway, most of the players nowadays don't give a shit about the fans and the shirt, so your reasoning is a bit outdated. They care for money and for their own career more than for anything else.

Rooney told the club directly. It was the club that made all of his comments public.

Zaha has used the medium of social media to openly say something that, whether you believe it or not, criticize our current manager.

There is a difference.

He lasted 44 days. However, I don't think Moyes went into Carrington on day one, gathered all the major players around and said "none of your trophies count, you only won things because of Howard Webb." I also don't think he's lost the dressing room, I think he's made some tough decisions with regard to a few senior and influential members of the squad, which in my opinion are the right decisions, and they've taken exception to them, this doesn't make the decisions any less right. Vidic, Ferdinand and Evra need to be moved on. And I disagree that Wilfried Zaha moaning on twitter is evidence that Moyes has lost the dressing room, it's evidence that Zaha is an immature brat. Moyes is also right about him, he's not ready for Manchester United yet.

This is about right in my view...

I don't think its that serious.
