Which Forward will we sign or loan today? (Deadline Day)

Statement of a window from Ineos. Dare I say Glazers will have been delighted with our business.

Seriously, this is deadline day. Do we have any other striker link to us on loan? We desperately need someone.

Is there not even a Giroud level loan signing available ?

Feels like if we can even find an experienced striker or frontman whose past it, we could push the Europa cup and potential CL spot.

Alvaro Morata went on loan to Galatasaray a couple days ago. Would have gladly taken him on a loan for a few months even with his lackluster spell at Chelsea.

This is setting up to be an epic failure for INEOS and their new structure.

Re sign the legend that is Dong Fangzhuo. If we can sell a billion shirts in China . We might be able to raise the money to buy Gyökeres in the summer and pass PSR.

Statement of a window from Ineos. Dare I say Glazers will have been delighted with our business.

I've felt for a while that part of the reason why the Glazers were happy to relinquish the shares in the club they did to Ineos was largely in part due to the miserly decisions Sir Jim could get away with. Just think of the response from fans had the Glazers actively done half of what Ineos have since taking over. There would have, righfully, been riots.

Instead, the fans are the ones being asked to fork out for the Glazers mishandling of the club, we are slipping into utter mediocrity whilst fans chant Ratcliffe's name. He's a glorified consultant at this point tasked with slashing and saving, little more. Once the investment for the new stadium is secured, I imagine he'll sell up and feck off.

Mad that we appear to be sitting this out. Other than the youngster Chido - is there anyone in the youth team who could provide an option? Remember Rashford was completely out of the blue and rarely talked of as a sure thing before being thrown in.

Sometimes it works, and we are fecking desperate out here.

LWB was our biggest hole in the team beyond event attackers. With the injury to Lisandro Heaven’s transfer also looks astute as we needed a left footed cover at LCB.

The two attackers loaned out are Antony our worst signing in history and Rashford who has been poor for two seasons and has fallen out with the manager.

Those two decisions were fine.

Not bringing in a forward is the issue to focus on, not the above.
I don't think it was bigger hole if I'm honest. If I'm wrong and bringing in a left back actually helps us suddenly start scoring goals I'll be blown away and give fair props to the club, can't see it though.

I'm not bothered about the bodies coming in, happy enough with the both in the grand scheme. It's the same with the guys going out on loan, fully appreciate they weren't really playing, but it's unreal that we don't appear to have anything at all lined up at that end of the pitch. We've already got kids playing up top, two of whom have been truly terrible, and if we get an injury it'll be someone with even less experience or a makeshift player to replace them. Mental.

Can someone who calls themself a "journalist" just ask a straight question as to the decision making process at United?

Reports this week that one of the Glazers still has veto power on transfers and is heavily involved.

I genuinely wish more fans would just boycott the club and force the Glazers out.

And matchday fans are paying 66 quid with no concessions to watch a team with a snowballs chance of scoring.

They’re all out on loan or injured I think.

I mean it was the one position we actually had no one in. Dalot and Maz can fill in at left back but are much more comfortable on the right. Malacia has come back from his injury a shadow of a player and Shaw even if fit wouldn’t have the stamina for wing back.

If Dorgu is moderately decent at getting up and down the pitch and offering us an actual outlet at LW I wouldn’t be surprised if our performances increase quite a bit more. We statistically don’t score when it’s both Dalot and Maz.

Have we ever signed anybody out the blue this late into a deadline day? Assuming we’d already know by now if anything was going to happen?

Feckitty feck feck feck! I just hope we promote Chido-Obi and Biancheri to give us some options other than side show Bob and the not great Dane

I'd rather of stayed with a fill in left back in Dalot if it was a choice between that or a half decent forward player with a good eye for goal.

I don't disagree that we need one, and it'll no doubt help a little with balance, but I don't think I've ever seen a full back/wing back come into a team and thought that's how they'll drastically improve their attack.

Maybe if Drogu hits the ground running and it turns out he plays like prime Carvajal or something, it's not likely though.

I'm happy with just Dorgu.

Loaning Antony and Rashford means we get more wiggle room with PSR in the summer. if Rashford performs and gets the Villa move we have good standing for the summer.

Quenda and Gyokeres would be achievable + another forward.

I think this painful January is worth it in the long run.

We have 4 strikers/inside forwards in a squad, Hojlund, Zirkzee, Garnacho, Amad. If 1 is injured, if 2 are injured who are playing? WHO is scoring goals?

Amorim clearly wanted at least one player to come in. Shame we needed to sell to buy, as it basically rendered 9/10 of the window pointless while we played chicken over our outgoings.

We also need a new LCB. Martinez is out and we only have 1 fit but it’s a very young lad who we’ve just signed.

It's annoyed me that Tel and Ferguson were up for grabs and have gone to the teams they have.

Tel is a decent player and Ferguson at least knows where the goal is. Would have been nice to have one of them, even as an option to come off the bench.

Think we can use Dorgu as a forward, and at this rate we can use Mazraoui there as well seeing as already seem to use him in a position he’s completely incapable of playing anyway.

We don't have money though and we should wait for the summer, we are aiming to save here for the summer.

With Dorgu hopefully we get more ball carriers from the left for the strikers.

So we are stuck with relying on the 2 lumps who have shown they cannot score goals with any sort of consistency. Fecking terrific given one of our biggest problems is we can't score so that puts even bigger pressure on our dodgy defence and even dodgier GK to try and keep a clean sheet so we can at least draw

I understand no emergency signing but ffs there must be a loan?

They made their bed by not only keeping ETH in the summer, when it was clear he needed the sack, but letting him sign yet more dross.

Honestly not impressed by Ineos

This is spot on.

Clearly we cannot sign anyone who is going to transform the team in this window as very little quality is available in January, better to focus on reducing wages and raising funds to give us a decent shot of being in position to make the big signings we need in the summer when the market is a lot more rational and more proven players will be on the move.

I mean we have Rasmus and Zirkzee to cover the 9 and Garnacho, Amad, Mainoo, Bruno, Erikson to cover the 10. It's grim at the moment but we'll manage.

Can't score, have loaned out multiple attackers, and we bring in two defenders. State of this club, honestly.
One of those defenders is just for the youth teams. Dorgu's the only signing we made for the first team squad

Seeing as we play with two 10s - that is really bare bones. Given the energy required too, I'd right off Eriksen for that role as well.

Under normal circumstances I'd agree. On this occasion though, I don't think it would be that hard to find someone that might be slightly better than what we've got up top, or at least another option that brings something different.

If we legitimately can't afford to sanction loan deals, I don't really know what we're doing buying more defenders at the moment.

I personally don't agree with the feck it, free hit, just don't get relegated view many hold. Yes, it's important to plan long term, but it's not fair to just ignore the short term and throw a season when people have already paid for season tickets or are expected to pay high prices for match day tickets.

We had the third highest net transfer spend this window. Spent 100M+ more than City, Pool, Chelsea, Arsenal. Gave ETH a big payout to get him out, followed by a large contract for Amorim.

Do folks posting about Ineos being "savers" even follow the team? We're going to spend big again in the summer too. Personally, I'm thrilled to see the focus on young players, lack of miserably bad contracts given out, and moves to loan out deadweight. We're barely passing PSR at the moment, so this long-term view is exactly what we should be doing.

Would I take a striker? Yes definitely. But there are very few that would come on a straight loan and clearly improve the team. Guys like Tel and Ferguson aren't clearly better than what we have; they have almost no goals themselves this season.

Granted they’re both not the best and I would want someone coming in sooner rather later. However they also don’t get any service inside the box. It’s a United squad issue that we don’t score goals. We lack serious creativity.

I genuinely think you’d see much better strikers than them struggle to score as many as you’d expect. We absolutely stink and it comes from the tempo of passing that’s been allowed to fester at the club for far too long. One touch incisive passing needs to be seriously coached back into most of our players. Failing that sign some players who can actually do it.
