Which Forward will we sign or loan today? (Deadline Day)

Under normal circumstances I'd agree. On this occasion though, I don't think it would be that hard to find someone that might be slightly better than what we've got up top, or at least another option that brings something different.

If we legitimately can't afford to sanction loan deals, I don't really know what we're doing buying more defenders at the moment.

I personally don't agree with the feck it, free hit, just don't get relegated view many hold. Yes, it's important to plan long term, but it's not fair to just ignore the short term and throw a season when people have already paid for season tickets or are expected to pay high prices for match day tickets.

Dorgu? we need wing backs to function, and we need to get top talents to the club given PSR. Chelsea and City have done similar recently, its a good long term view to have and we're fixing the fundamentals first.

Fans are pissed which is fine but we need to be sustainable.

Would I take a striker? Yes definitely. But there are very few that would come on a straight loan and clearly improve the team. Guys like Tel and Ferguson aren't clearly better than what we have; they have almost no goals themselves this season.
I'm fairly confident I can say I've seen both play much better games than Hojlund or Zirkzee in the recent past though.

Ferguson in particular looked a great finisher not so long ago. I wouldn't want either as a permanent signing, but a punt on loan until the end of the season, definitely worth a shot.

Honest question and I probably know the answer, but for those in the know regarding the youth setup at United, is there no player outside the first team squad that could play up top? Biancheri, Martin? They probably aren’t physically ready but Zirkzee and Hoilund are lost causes at this rate.

Giroud at 38 years young? In MLS but scored 15 Serie A goals in 23/24 season.

Issue isn't strikers it's creating chances. We need wing backs first.

I don't have a problem with the Dorgu signing overall. I'm annoyed that they've sanctioned that and another defender in the January window whilst letting attacking players go (for good reason, I know) without a single attacking player coming in (as of yet).

We can't score goals, a left wing back will help balance the team but probably won't increase our output that much. Would it not make more sense to get the defenders in the summer and bring in someone that might score some goals just now? Would make the season slightly more bareable if we might be able to get a few more goals, particularly at home.

Because without wing backs we won't even attack correctly.

In Amorims system we need wing backs that attack like wingers, not full backs (Mazraoui, Dalot, Shaw, Malacia).

Full backs in the mould we have don't run at players and dribble. They go up the pitch then pass back or centrally.

Wingbacks dribble akin to what Nani would have done on the wing or Valencia before his leg injury.

The whole point is the wingback is a 5 at the back in defence (meaning we need really strong athletes that can run for 90 minutes) and then in attack they can sprint and get up the pitch and make it 5 in attack.

Dorgu is a great dribbler, strong and can put in a cross too and also cut in and shoot. We need those profile of players.

Without wing backs we wont create chances, Amorim doesn't want to cater to the players and play a system they know because we won't progress as a club that way.

Getting a striker is pointless, we need first the wing backs to create chances.

Our entire squad right now wants to attack centrally, Amorim wants the players on the wings (Dalot etc) to attack from the width but they cannot do it.

Without those players the strikers just won't actually have chances to attack.

Bringing in a striker is absolutely pointless right now, hence save on PSR and wait for the summer. The entire season is a write off.

We aren't getting CL football, we can only hope to win the Europa League, the rest we need to save on wages, hopefully ship out Rashford as a homegrown player, and get Quena, Gyokeres and a midfielder.

Even if City loaned us Haaland now, or we got Lewandowski at the top, guess what? fans are going to piss and moan that we aren't creating chances, because guess what? we need wing backs for this system.

Even Peps first year at City they suffered before he went heavy on players like Walker in the following transfer window.

He is not moving for 4 months of mid table scrapping in Manchester. The issue is that if you look at almost every team in the league they would like to add a striker in this window with a handful of exceptions, once you factor in the number of players who are simply not available in this window you are left with the choice between underwhelming punts or massive overpayment relative to quality. We have two forwards currently for one position so it is not as though we are in some sort of crisis, of course they have both been woeful so far this season but as others have mentioned, part of the issue is that the team collectively is so poor at attacking play. Ruben needs to actually coach up the players who are here to do the basics that most other clubs seem to do with ease week in and week out such as wide players actually getting to the byline and putting in crosses instead of turning around and passing backwards over and over again.

Willian is without a club so we'll probably be linked to him over the next couple of days.

I hope you're right. I do understand it long term, have huge doubts over whether it will make us significantly better for the remainder of this season. Hopefully you're right though.

Can't we hijack Batshuayi, who'll likely join Betis, as a Weghorst/Ighalo type of transfer?

I’ve heard one about Richard Keys getting women to shit on him if that’s the sort of thing you mean.
That is not new though, its also fairly established.

Any rumors about us signing a forward?

That's that I guess.Am gutted at this poor window we had but om the bright side I smoked a brisket and it's done resting.

I mean I feel like we've collectively baulked at that in the past but I'd snatch your hand off right now.

At this moment I'd be celebrating a Tammy Abraham loan as if we bought Gyokeres.

Very small detail, but United really should have waited until tomorrow to brief about going for the Sporting Wing Back

It would have been much better timing like “ok we fecked January but we’re already on it for the summer”
