Which Forward will we sign or loan today? (Deadline Day)

We really couldn't go wrong with a Weghorst/Ighalo type of striker, that's bad the situation is!

We need some centre midfielders who can run (not stroll) for 90+ mins, tackle and give us a sense of dominance in the middle of the park. There is not a team that fears playing against our midfield.

Not sure Amorim has the maturity to deal with the situation. He is very emotive and will get everyone to feel down, when he needs to get us solid, and v tough to beat.

Ugarte and Collyer fit that profile, the latter should get more playing time.

I think Amorim is exasperated, frankly. He has mainly not technically capable players or plodders at his disposal. And then there's Bruno, who as good a player as he is, won't ever bring us forward.

Unless they are going to promote someone from the academy (Chido Obi being the obvious candidate, but feels as though he is a year away) - they really need to get a forward in today.

No chance of winning a cup or finishing even in the top half otherwise - lack of goals in the team is criminal

Dion Dublin doesn't do Homes Under the Hammer ever day, so maybe him... in other words, sod all will happen

I'm available.

6ft 3....

Just putting it out there, you never know.

Let's definitely get Ronaldo back.

Third time's a charm.

I perceive no possible way that this idea could go horribly wrong.

We should try and get Ronaldo, Pogba, Greenwood back on loan. We're not going forward as a club so let's go back
Lets do this! Amorim to get the best out of his countryman. We need goals and only he was the one to get 20+ in the last few years.

What's Chicarito up to these days? I recall him saying he'd happily play for the club for free, which would do wonders for our PSR outlook. I'd also wager he'd still do a better job of sticking it in the back of the net than the pair of unfortunate forwards we have now.

Rooney's out of work too now right? Probably about 30kg too heavy but he looked like he could still hit them in that charity game.

I honestly believe if we don't bring anyone in we are fecked for the rest of the season.

Who could realistically come in at this late hour and make a significant difference though?

If a top striker was available and wanted to come here it would have been done before now.

The league is a complete write off anyway and we've done ok in the Europa. There are no teams or strikers to really fear in that competition.

Any Saudi League striker?

Ali Al-Masoud - Al Fateh SC to Man United - #HERE WE GO!
Still, Ali Al-Nobody would get Casemiro off our books, freeing up cash. The post was however aimed at foreign strikers, yes - in Saudi Arabia they need to lose a foreigner to sign a foreigner as each club is usually maxed out on foreigners.

Henrik Larsson's son doesn't seem to be getting much minutes for Copenhagen.

Yeah, ok and? Doesn't change the fact we'd be fecked.

I know he was a blue but I'd take Jimmy Grimble

Can't believe how we've left this to the last moment again. I thought that was a Glazer's thing. It was so clear from even before the window opened that Rashford was not going to come back and our other options are meh, yet here we are again.

Honestly at this point we just need some bodies. I think one of Nkunku/Felix could be a real possibility (idk which one is worse). Wouldn't even mind someone like Saint-Maximin on loan but he's gone to turkey now.

I do think the club have failed us if they aren't able to identify and secure at least a loan signing who can bag us a few goals.

We've scored 28 goals in 24 Premier League games this season, which is atrocious. When you look at our last three seasons:

21-22: 57 Goals
22-23: 58 Goals
23-24: 57 Goals

I know this is just Premier League and the numbers could be half decent when we look at a full season (depending on number of games and opponents we faced in the cups but they're probably weaker teams quite often), but it is pretty telling. Basically, an issue of not being able to score goals that has been ongoing for more than three years at this point (and now 7 transfer windows if we fail in this one). Our top scorers in those seasons were Ronaldo, Rashford, and Bruno/Hojlund joint (PL), two of which are no longer with us and Bruno is starting to be deployed in a deeper role making it less likely for him to score. We need to find Hojlund more and Amorim has tried a lot of different things, but I think he just has to go all-in on Hojlund now and figure out how to make it work, because I think he's the only player we have in the squad right now who could hit double digits if he plays every game as the main striker.

We have to get a proven goalscorer in, because we will not be able to fully fix this issue with the players we currently have at our disposal. There's more to it than getting a proven goalscorer because our approach play and speed in transition must improve to create enough chances, but it would obviously help. We have 14 games left, even if we score two per game for the rest of the season, we would have our worst ever goalscoring campaign. We can't climb the table if we can't win matches, and we need to start scoring to be able to win.

Despite the money invested in this squad, as of right now, if a goalscoring forward is not added then a top half finish probably can't be expected which is ludicrous

The club not caring about bringing one in definitely means they've written off the season and will just reassess where we are in the summer with regards to finances. Hope for the best but not spend anything to help the team.

Especially with the Licha injury, it's more unlikely now that we do anything in the cups

On one hand, it’s going to be disappointing if we don’t get someone in.

On the other, I’m glad we’re not caving into ridiculous demands and getting a body in for the sake of it like we used too and then getting chained to some ridiculous contract.

Hojlund and Zirkzee can’t complain about not getting a chance if no one comes in and we’re probably not far away from promoting Chido to get minutes, which would be especially damning of both of them if that happens.

Didn't we make two signings already in Dorgu and the Heaven lad? We need a striker yes, but what viable options are out there? If the club can get Tel in as a loan, i'm sure we'll do it. We can't force Bayern to do business if they don't want to

Don't think we should bother unless the right player is available. Some shite old Traveller like Weghorst isn't going to make any difference to anything

It was Tel or bust, we won't get anyone. Just got to ride out the rest of the season and not get relegated.

Alvaro Morata just went out on loan the other day.

There probably is stuff out there, I just don't think we're either a) looking or b) interested.

We won't by the looks of things. Why I don't know because there are options. Osimhen on loan, Morata on loan or Jonathan David permanently would all be improvements on the dross we have up front currently. No links with any of them unfortunately (Morata already gone on loan). If we do sign someone it'll probably be Tel who doesn't solve anything really (and isn't a striker).

I'd like to think there's a guy with a computer showing Ratcliffe a list of 10 of the most obscure players from the likes of Asia and Oceania and pointing at each one with a laser saying 'he gets on base'.

Make something happen.

We're not signing anyone today, and that's as clear as day. We're skint so it would have to be a loan, and Tel was the only one that we had made headway with. Can't really start negotiating for anyone at this hour and expect to get that over the line.

We've managed to actually reduce our attacking options substantially in this window, although I would argue we're better off without Rashford and Antony even without replacing them.
