"Where's your famous Munich song?"

Are you saying there were no Munich songs or gestures then?

Anything like this from either set of supporters is shit and should be cut out completely, but point scoring from it is also pretty low.

I'm not even trying to point score, as I know there are obviously twats on both sides. There's one especially embarrassing video of a Liverpool supporter's group on youtube.

It's just that these chants happen on a mass scale every time we play Utd.

'Luis Suarez, your teeth are offside'

That chant was great.

The Murderers stuff is a damn shame, as are the airplane gestures by the Liverpool fans. Football fans were never saints though.

Also need to keep in mind that one's heard (chants) while the other's seen (gestures). By watching it on the Telly you only get to see/hear the former.

You bumped this thread on a Utd forum, which is a bit silly if both sides are as bad as eachother.

And it doesn't happen vice-versa?

You are in fecking dreamland, you must be on a Wum. Because if you had any sense of moral outrage at this, you'd be talking about both fan's behaviour with regards to the shit like this that happens.

But noooooo, scouse fans are saints whilst our lot are scum. Shock horror.

That looks to be a blag, shit stirring account to me. Here's what Martin Lipton saw:

Martin Lipton ‏@MartinLipton
#lfc fans not responded to "murderers" or "without killing anyone" chants. Name of #mufc dragged through mud, again

There are probably isolated incidents where LFC fans will do such things, but there's nothing to the extent where thousands are chanting and it's audible on TV. There was no mass response from the away end to the usual 'murderers', 'the sun was right', 'only one Maggie Thatcher' etc. Nor do we ever chant about United at Anfield or other away games as you do.

What satisfaction does anyone get from singing about Heysel anyway?

Yes, because it's so beyond belief that your exemplary fans would sing Munich songs and behave like twats. It only happens at nearly every game.

It wouldn't be the first time Martin Lipton was talking shite either so not sure why we believe him above others - he has plenty of previous.

'Only one Maggie Thatcher'

Now I know you're definitely trolling.

You're pissed off about the result and you're looking for something to score points about.

Terribly transparent.

Yeah, because Maggie Thatcher is Loved in Salford.

Bullshit. I remember when Alan Smith broke his leg at Anfield, and it came across quite clearly on TV the Riise song and sections of the crowd booing when he was carried off the pitch on the stretcher. The ambulance was also attacked with missiles and was rocked from side to side.

Do not make out that your fans are holier than thou, and what about the cups of shit? I was at OT for a United-Liverpool match a few years back, and for no reason, the Liverpool fans were chanting 'Munich, Munich'.

Section of Mancuinan support chants morally dubious chants at Manchester United vs Liverpool match in footballing shocker!

Scouser claims Liverpool fans are perfect and plays the victim in stereotype fulfilling scenes on RedCafe!

And why is that?

The phrase throwing stones in glass houses springs to mind.

What sort of argument is "well you sang Munich songs!"?

If United fans have again sang about that then it's out of order. Regardless what the Liverpool fans were doing.

It's a Liverpool attitude to judge themselves by the actions of others, just go to the Suarez thread

''Well Giggs cheated on his wife''
''Cantona kicked someone''

What sort of argument is "well you sang Munich songs!"?

Who are you quoting there?

Yep, as been pointed out. The problem is, you are going to get a reaction from a one sided point scoring attempt like Shades has tried. This is why it's crap all round.

I have no doubt that some idiots on both sides have will have let themselves and their clubs down today. I doubt that will ever change.

And it doesn't happen vice-versa?

Obviously it happens, but it doesn't happen to the same extent is what I'm saying. Sky showed the entire United lock in earlier this season at it. Even at Everton on your first game of this season there was chanting.

Did you hear any response en masse from our away end today?

You bumped this thread on a Utd forum, which is a bit silly if both sides are as bad as eachother.

Not sure if they are as bad as each other, though.

But yes, it probably is futile to bump this on here.

Yeah, because Maggie Thatcher is Loved in Salford.

Exactly. It's class betrayal and I was surprised to hear it myself.

'Everyone at Liverpool did as much for me as any club possibly could,' said Smith. 'I was disappointed the story blew up about rocking an ambulance. That was never the case. Liverpool and Man United did everything to get me to the hospital and everything in their power to make sure I was OK.

'I thank them for that. Sometimes it's nice to say that because people have read that they were rocking my ambulance and throwing stuff at it, which is so untrue.
'

I haven't made out our fans are 'holier than thou' - they're not. But I'm still to hear these Munich chants blasting out over my TV speakers like I do every time we play you.

Maybe a more apt question is whether it's deemed acceptable within your fan base to taunt Liverpool fans using Heysel?

Who are you quoting there?

No one. It was too all of those whos response to SOT's post with something similar.

Why not just condemn the singing rather than say things like "well you did this and that."?

I think what pisses people off was this was simply an exercise in point-scoring and wummery by a butthurt Liverpool fan.

I think United fans are fully aware that we have unsavoury chants, without sanctimonious Liverpool WUMS with no self-awareness coming in to tell us.

Obviously it happens...

So you come on a United forum with such a one sided post and want a discussion (though apparently only after being challenged), and aren't point scoring?

Yeah right ho.

I agree. But if you are referencing my posts at all, that's not the point I was making.

Yep, Shades has done this on a WUM because of a loss, nothing more.

It must be terrible for Liverpool fans to hear about that time when nearly 40 Juventus fans were killed because of idiot Liverpool fans.

Perspective, please.

Nothing wrong at all with Heysel chants. Your lot have had blood on your hands ever since, and your victimisation stance only makes it worse

That's because you didn't hear it, because you're lying and trying to point score.

Presumably you watched on TV so you'll be able to give us proof. When in the match did you hear it, roughly? We have full length videos of every match here.

What exactly is acceptable to you in terms of chants then?

Is it ok for your fans to enmasse call a victim of racial abuse a lying bastard?

In a way it's analogous to the murderers chant, except he's the victim in the piece.

Liverpool fans were perpetrators of a crime, and United fans classlessly remind them of it.

Evra was a victim of a crime, and Liverpool fans call him a lying bastard.

Liverpool pool fans may be cnuts, but that's no excuse for us being cnuts.

So any point I make is point scoring? Isn't constantly using the deaths of 39 people to taunt people point scoring? And what am I lying about? Are you saying you didn't hear anything?

There is no comparison whatsoever between Evra-Suarez and Heysel or any other disaster like it. It seems you want to bring Suarez into every discussion you have about Liverpool.

The point I'm trying to make is that such chanting is a constant from your fan base, en masse. That's not point scoring, it's raising a real issue. But then it comes down to whether you believe taking the piss about Heysel is acceptable or not.

Nothing wrong at all with Heysel chants. Your lot have had blood on your hands ever since, and your victimisation stance only makes it worse

Eh? I've got no blood on my hands, nor has any other Liverpool fan except for the ones who were involved and charged.

Also, how do we act the victims when it comes to Heysel?

Both sides have cnuts on their side.

Relatively this was a calm game played in decent spirit I thought.

So any point I make is point scoring? Isn't constantly using the deaths of 39 people to taunt people point scoring? And what am I lying about? Are you saying you didn't hear anything?

You're lying about the Thatcher chant.

You didn't hear it. Otherwise you'd tell us when you heard it in the match and we could easily check.

So go on, tell us when you heard it?

There is no comparison whatsoever between Evra-Suarez and Heysel or any other disaster like it. It seems you want to bring Suarez into every discussion you have about Liverpool.

Why is there no comparison?

Both chants are classless. United fans reminding LFC of a crime they perpetrated. Liverpool fans abusing a victim of racism.

Do you think it's acceptable to shout lying bastard at a victim of racial abuse?

If so, why?

Why is that more acceptable than chanting Murderers?

The point I'm trying to make is that such chanting is a constant from your fan base, en masse. That's not point scoring, it's raising a real issue. But then it comes down to whether you believe taking the piss about Heysel is acceptable or not.

I don't think many people on RedCafe are thrilled with the Heysel chants, though obviously some people think it's fair game, just like you presumably think it's fair game to call a victim of racial abuse a lying bastard.

Now tell us what part of the match it was when you heard this Thatcher chant?

Otherwise we'll know who the real lying bastard is here.

Take a step back from this Kraftwerker, while it's still your choice.

I haven't done anything wrong PJ. My stance is all this chanting is classless.

I'm merely exposing hypocrisy and the clear wummery and bullshit coming from a sanctimonious Liverpool fan on a point-scoring exercise.

If he can tell us when he heard these pro-Thatcher chants, and we can check what he's on about, then I'll concede he's not just lying and shit-stirring.

There should never be any songs about Hillsborough, but isn't the 'Where's your Munich song?' more of a reference to how Liverpool sang Munich songs for decades and then Hillsborough happened and they suddenly stopped? It's a valid qestion, and is in a way a critique of singing the offensive songs. They did it for years, then realised that innocent people dying wasn't really that funny anymore when it happened to them.

As for Heysel... I don't particularly like songs about that but Liverpool should stop trying to brush it under the carpet and acknowledge that it was their fault. They can't demand respect for what happened at Hillsborough whilst completely ignoring Heysel. They need to remember both.

It's nowhere near the scale but Liverpool do hold a remembrance for Heysel each year. Don't forget it was the end of may, too so no football is played then, thus not giving them a chance for holding a min silence. Which I assume they would on the anniversary.
