"Where's your famous Munich song?"

Nothing they sing should resort us to singing "Where's your famous munich song?" The fans that have sung it are a disgrace to this club, and what was worse was that one of the survivors, Bobby Charlton was at the match.

Pathetic behaviour from the Man utd fans who chanted, then again like I've said before most football fans are usually the biggest bunch of bellends in society anyway so can't say I'm surprised. Can't let their pride go and like Neville said have to get the final punch in.

Its a shame our fans, even though its minority, have to sing those songs because the You'll never get a job, sign on, sign on is so much more funnier and damning that mocking them about fellow English/British peoples deaths. Same goes for their minority who do the Munich stuff.

We won, use that on them instead!!

Because when hooliganism was at its height in the 80s, and all through the 70s infact, we were the envy of the land in terms of support and had to put up with shit like this throughout

Our fans are far from fecking saints, and let's not go into the whole they started it first, but Munich was hung from banners across the land with not a single apology from them cnuts.

Erentz - I like the cut of your jib. Well said that man.

Yup.

Most of the United supporters who are regular match goers have put up with chants and banners about Munich for over 30 years, they aren't going to turn the other cheek just because the media want them to. The media should have made as much fuss about the endless references to Munich over the years, they didn't seem to mind when those loveable scousers sang the runway song as Sir Matt did a lap of honour with Bob Paisley at Wembley in the early 80's, and hardly a word was said when they hung their classy banners about it either.

They know the songs are about Heysel and the way they try to sweep in under the carpet, but they still play the victim card and try to claim they're about Hillsborough, and the media as usual lap it up.

well said

Could always be worse....

Levski Sofia's fans used July's Europa League game against Sarajevo to chant about genocide, with banners including: "Ratko Mladic and Arkan fecked you, now it's our turn."

Oh that's ok then.

By the way Osama, you're forgiven, Mao was responsible for so many more deaths then you.

None taken, old boy.

That was in Said & Done in The Observer today. That's a newspaper.

I thought it put fretting about "where's your famous Munich song" into some much needed perspective.

Weird one that, my response went in ahead of the post I responded to.

Anyway, Still Ill - you get the gist.

The smiley in your post makes a difference though, doesn't it?

They taunted us all day, every song they chanted was aimed for a response. feck em we outsung them all day.

Now we can't use the emoticons on the internet.

United < Mao.

You sound like a bit of a tool, Fadas. No offence, like.

I despise "murderers/the sun was right/you killed your own" etc. But as for "where's your famous munich song?" it's a valid question that we deserve an answer to.

I kind of agree. After taunting us with that for years, they suddenly demand respect?

This is the thing: there are always going to be insensitive fecks in society who take perverse pleasure in the suffering of others. Football matches just provide a large-scale forum for this horrible truths.

I don't condone this behaviour in the slightest, but I do find it funny that people are still shocked by this. I mean if someone is sick enough to mock Hillsborough or Munich victims in the first place, why would we suddenly expect them to see the light on a day like today?

Would you not like to move on from this kind of atmosphere in football grounds. Back then black players were getting bananas thrown at them.

Are we not all a little more civilised these days?

Your right mate, fecking disgrace from the media today. They hardly did their bit to diffuse the situation.

Also, expecting us to sing along to YAWN was never going to happen, EVER.

Yeah. In a roundabout away, our away fans were criticised for chanting during YAWN. They were chanting 'United, United'.

Maybe some would have felt it appropriate to be silent during YAWN because tributes were being paid to the 96, but I honestly don't see how we can be criticised either because we weren't chanting anything bad during it.

The media just shit stir all the time.

'Where's your famous Munich song' only needed singing once IMO.

Liverpool used to sing 'Whose that dying on the runway' year in year out at Old Trafford.

The first game at ours after Hillsborough we sang 'Where's your famous Munich Songs?' Which led to the Liverpool fans being very very quiet. Those in the away end that day (I know a good few) said they thought 'Fair cop, deserved that.' The point was made.

Stop making such a drama about it. Some folk just can't wait to be offended by something.

I don't think it needs singing anymore...others do.

For those at the game - did we ever sing "Where's your famous atmosphere?"? Could have sworn I heard it on television but now I realise it was probably Munich song instead.

ive a problem with lots of the anti scouse songs and never partake in them, but ive no problem with this one, its nothing really to do with Hillsborough imo, more so just highlighting their constant hypocrisy.

What a bizarre week - every fecker appears to be offended by everything all of a sudden.

Yesterday largely went well, and thus all will be forgotten soon enough.

I heard the Munich song sung once during the game. Around the 25th minute. The Liverpool fans started booing and it stopped then. The rest of the times it was about their atmosphere. That was probably when the majority were sounding it out if it started.

The rest of the game we didnt chant about Hillsborough or Heysel. Until the Liverpool fans started the gestures towards us at the end and obviously that incited the crowd. They brought it on themselves. Ven during the game one lad in a Gilet did the aeroplane gesture which a few noticed. He didnt stand up again after.

I was stood next to the corner flag and near the gate where people were getting chucked out. 4 United fans got chucked out in front of me. One for absuing Gerrard as he was taking a corner but their fans at the end seemed to get away with a lot. I understood that when a liverpool player came to take a corner that the stewards would stand up in front of us but when a United player did they stood up ion front of us and let the Liverpool fans hurl abuse at them.

Also I saw a United fan get a stern talking to for raising his middle fingers at the Liverpool fans which was comical considering a few minutes later in front of a steward a fan gestured to me that he would slit my throat outside yet nothing was said.

Double standards all day and I am glad that we fluked a victory with questionable decisions. I hate Liverpool. The city and club and a fair few of the people. The stewards are power hungry as well. They were so excessive in our end when there really was no need. I thought that we behaved well considering the occasion

EDIT: and someone called me fat which hurt my feelings

Spot on.

What's the outrage about this song in particular? Chants about Hillsbrough are inexcusable but this is jut making a clear point - they have never fretted about singing Munich songs before so it is ridiculous that they're up in arms about the suggestion now.

I've been to Anfield twice, both losses. One of those was that 2-0 a few years back when Ngog sealed it late on. We were kept in the ground for a good half hour and I am in no way exaggerating when I say 10-15% of the crowd were staying behind doing the aeroplane. The most sickening moment was a bloke tapping his daughter on the shoulder, showing her how to do it, watching her do the aeroplane and then kissin her on the head with pride. I'll never forget that, utterly fecking sick.

Now even when wound up, there's never an excuse to do a Hillsbrough song. But pointing out their hypocrisy, even if a little insensitive right now, is hardly in the same ball park.

It's done. It's over. This treading on eggshells is getting right on me tits.

2-1, job done, 3 points...feck off down the The Championship.

It felt like it was a final outing for this chant. Now is a good time to finally leave it in the archive. The point was made. United fans can be satisfied they got the final word after decades of "we sing X because you sing Y", however in doing so the song was exposed for it's callousness. A hollow victory for United fans. Liverpool fans can be satisfied that they didn't rise to the bait (except the couple idiots who ran onto the pitch).
