"Where's your famous Munich song?"

I'm not arsed what gets sung unless it's actively and seriously discriminating (racism, homophobia etc). I don't tend to join in with the chants mentioned here but I don't get offended with what either side chants.

Yeah it may be classless, but that's football. I like that football's a bit morally shit sometimes - makes it seem more real and not just the theatre it's turning into.

You're lying about the Thatcher chant.

You didn't hear it. Otherwise you'd tell us when you heard it in the match and we could easily check.

So go on, tell us when you heard it?

Why is there no comparison?

Both chants are classless. United fans reminding LFC of a crime they perpetrated. Liverpool fans abusing a victim of racism.

Do you think it's acceptable to shout lying bastard at a victim of racial abuse?

If so, why?

Why is that more acceptable than chanting Murderers?

I don't think many people on RedCafe are thrilled with the Heysel chants, though obviously some people think it's fair game, just like you presumably think it's fair game to call a victim of racial abuse a lying bastard.

Now tell us what part of the match it was when you heard this Thatcher chant?

Otherwise we'll know who the real lying bastard is here.

Why do you bring the Suarez racism thing into every debate? How can you compare Evra getting a bit of stick to thousands singing about Heysel? It's not even a song directed at Evra, it's just random members of the crowd shouting him down. I can't even recall him being booed today. If they're the same thing in your opinion then I suggest you re-adjust your moral compass.

My original point was about the murderers chant. I've already said that I heard the Heysel chants and other stuff (Thatcher) was mentioned to me. Regardless - my point was about the Heysel stuff.

As for the last bit, how old are you?

As for Heysel... I don't particularly like songs about that but Liverpool should stop trying to brush it under the carpet and acknowledge that it was their fault. They can't demand respect for what happened at Hillsborough whilst completely ignoring Heysel. They need to remember both.

We have, this is what a lot of people forget. There's a memorial at Anfield and there was a large event held when we played Juve in the CL winning season.

I could ask you the same thing. Wumming on a United for just because your team lost? That's pretty juvenile.

You haven't answered any of his questions about where you heard these chants though.

It might seem like I'm pissed off we lost so I'm trying to take the piss but I'm not.

I only heard 'without killing anyone' and 'murderers' clearly on the TV. The rest have been mentioned to me.

You're priceless.

Do you think it's acceptable to call a victim of racial abuse a lying bastard?

If so, why?

I don't think it's acceptable to call a victim of racial abuse a lying bastard.

I also don't think it's acceptable to remind LFC fans of their part in Heysel.

Both chants are classless. No one needs a moral compass to see that. Why can't you accept that?

My original point was about the murderers chant. I've already said that I heard the Heysel chants and other stuff (Thatcher) was mentioned to me. Regardless - my point was about the Heysel stuff.

Ah, so you were shit-stirring and now you're back-tracking.

Here's actually what you said

You said there was no response from your away end to the usual 'only one Maggie Thatcher' chanting.

You were told that has to be bullshit because Thatcher is despised in Salford.

You said 'Exactly. It's class betrayal and I was surprised to hear it myself.'

You were surprised to hear it yourself?

But now you didn't actually hear it?

So you were bullshitting, or just feeding us bullshit 2nd hand information and holding it up as something that actually happened.

Either way, you're clearly just a WUM on a point-scoring exercise because you're pissed off about the result.

It might seem like I'm pissed off we lost so I'm trying to take the piss but I'm not.

I only heard 'without killing anyone' and 'murderers' clearly on the TV. The rest have been mentioned to me.

Ok, I'll assume you are telling the truth and this isn't a wum attempt.

So why, going by the subject matter, timing and status of this forum, did you post such a simple one-sided post?

Surely if you wanted a debate and to make a point, you could and should have done it without making it such a one sided affair? You must have known the responses you'd get? This is a Manchester United forum after all, you have just lost a game to us and you were trying to paint your own fans as innocent even though we, yourself included, all know they are not?

If you wanted a debate about it, you could have got it. Most of us would have probably agreed with you about the shit chanting, instead of going at you for what was perceived as point scoring and wumming.

A newb's just told me to post that.

It might seem like I'm pissed off we lost so I'm trying to take the piss but I'm not.

Watching football on TV can be misleading at times, your lot are just as bad but as the microphones don't pick it up no one mentions it. What was the point of bumping this thread, It's United vs Liverpool so what were you expecting?

And a newb PM'd me to say he heard a Thatcher chant from your own fans. Which I assume isn't unlikely e.g. 'Expose the lies before Thatcher dies'

I'm not sure in what way Evra is relevant and I'm not sure why you're even talking about him but OK.

No I don't think it's acceptable and I've never called Evra a lying bastard. When the feck did I say that?

Remind me why this is relevant again?

Remember, you're comparing a player getting stick from fans over a relatively minor issue to fans chanting about dead people. Think about that.

'I was surprised to hear it myself' as in I was surprised to hear it was chanted. And yes I was informed by someone else as I've mentioned.

Ok, I'll assume you are telling the truth and this isn't a wum attempt.

One sided? I've admitted LFC fans have done twattish things. In what way have I wummed? The point I was raising is that the Heysel chants are there every time we play you. At this point I was called a WUM and a lying bastard.

If I was a Utd fan I bet there wouldn't be the same reaction. It's not as if I came in and called every Man Utd fan a massive cnut nor did I try and say that we have better fans than you. The question was when will these chants stop?

It's not me that can't have a reasoned debate.

there was a large event held when we played Juve in the CL winning season.

And we all know what Juve thought of that.....

You've missed the point completely, thus making your last line false.

Besides I ask you this, what debate is there to be had? Most of us agree it shouldn't happen, unfortunately those who don't wont care what a handful of people say on the internet and will continue to sing.

'I was surprised to hear it myself' as in I was surprised to hear it was chanted. And yes I was informed by someone else as I've mentioned.

You've made a number of accusations and also claimed Liverpool fans didn't retaliate.

Yet when asked for proof of what you heard, you completely ignore that and pick on other points of his post making a big issue to distract from his questions.

In fact you bumped this thread based on what you think you heard on the t.v. Wumming, point scoring or just woefully lacking in common sense, this has been pointless.

We have, this is what a lot of people forget. There's a memorial at Anfield and there was a large event held when we played Juve in the CL winning season.

I know there's a memorial, it just seems as if Liverpool FC have gone out of their way to shift the blame onto other people (didn't they blame Chelsea fans or something ridiculous like that?) and then brush it under the carpet. I mean, Juventus went through the same thing that you did in Hillsborough, the dead Juve fans deserve the same level of remembrance as the Liverpool fans, and yet they're very rarely mentioned. I despise any sort of derogatory comment about Hillsborough obviously, but I do find it hypocritical of Liverpool to go on and on about demanding justice for that (which they definitely should have got - no-one is denying that), whilst not admitting their own fault in Heysel - and it was directly Liverpool fans fault - and not demanding justice for the Juventus supporters.

Because it's a discussion about classless chants and you were trying to tell us that Liverpool fans aren't guilty of it (or at least are more whiter than white or something), which is evidently bullshit.

I don't think racism is a minor issue. Do you?

And United fans aren't chanting about dead people.

They're chanting about Liverpool fans' role in the slaughter of innocent people.

It's a classless attack on your fans, not the dead. Just as your chanting is a classless attack on a victim of racism.

Regarding the Thatcher chant, why didn't you just tell us that you'd heard it second hand? Because then we'd know you were just shit-stirring by presenting second hand bullshit as fact. You even lumped it in as a usual chant, despite it never being sung at Old Trafford.

I know the result is hard to stomach, but is there any need for what you're doing, clearly shit-stirring and point scoring. Does it make you feel better about the defeat?

He'll just do what he's been doing all along and ignore most of this post to focus on the odd thing he can come up with an answer for.

I'll never understand who has the problem with Heysel chants? Is it finally preying on Liverpool's conscience what they did?

For the record, United sang about Hillsborough, Liverpool didn't sing about Munich. Certainly not during the game anyway.

Manchester suffered as much as Liverpool in the Thatcher years. Shades of Tomato is clearly having a meltdown of sorts. I can't quite understand the point he's making.... United fans are...er....bad?

I'll never understand who has the problem with Heysel chants? .

If I was a Juve fan I cannot say I would particularly enjoy utd goading Liverpool fans using the death of their own supporters. The utd fans singing it don't give a shit about the Juve fans, the simply want to aggravate Liverpool.

So that would be the problem I have with it.

Well, it's not like it's just used to point score. What happened resulted in English teams being booted out of Europe, and it's not like it is today when Championship sides can get, in was more of a rarity, and with United not being the powerhouse they are now, those opportunities being missed out on because of Liverpool fans' violence I can certainly see as a cause of angst. Plus of course, the point scoring.

Hm, I guess so.

Liverpool and the rest of the English clubs all got punished by UEFA in the wake of Heysel. And the blame has always been squarely pointed at Liverpool.

If they choose not to take that on board that is their problem.

Grow up.

So, where exactly is Liverpool's Munich song then? Why is it not sung loud and proud at OT any more? Do Liverpool not sing loudly about Munich at matches because Hillsborough would instantly be thrown back at them? If that's the case then it's a bit rich trying to claim the moral high ground.

Can Liverpool fans take any moral highground over Heysel chanting when they themselves gleefully sang "2 nil to the murderers!" in a Merseyside derby they were winning?

Obviously it was a response to Everton fans calling them murderers, but if you're going to revel in it and use it to wind up their fans, I wouldn't be too surprised when it comes back at you again in other matches.

As sad and classless as it may be, you're just as guilty for perpetuating it.

It doesn't matter really.

This has been dragged up all because a Liverpool fan is a bit upset they lost and decided to tell us all what he heard on t.v and has read somewhere.

What ever the outcome, he's an idiot much like anyone who want's to sing these kinds of songs. It's uncalled for all round.

Does anyone else find the embarassing point scoring from people who should know better worse than the actual chanting?

There'll always be idiots that chant. I don't get wound up by Munich chants. I just find them dumb. I get more wound up when a United fan uses them as an excuse or justification to do something equally dumb, or declares some sense of faux paus moral outrage while turning a blind eye to our fans doing the same thing.

I don't know of ANY set of fans who wouldn't resort to vile chanting. If you really cared that much about it, you'd start with your own fan group or address the issue as a whole.

You wouldn't only target an individual group who happen to be your main rivals. That isn't condemming the problem, it's just adding to it in the guise of a dishonest coward.

The media are as bad. They pick and choose when it suits and all this does is fuel anger as the ones picked out can legitimately claim they're being victimised...and then even the people who weren't joining in feel agrieved.

If people would tackle the problem honestly it'd soon go away. Problem is asking a football fan to be honest is a bit like asking Roy Keane to crack a smile once in a while.

I don't know if I'd class it as worse, but it's true the point scoring and back and forth just keeps the issue highlighted and made worse.

After all, does anybody think they won't be signing their shit songs even louder after this latest perceived injustice? And it would be vice-versa.

The Heysel chants quite audibly continued today, as well as plenty of other shite I've heard from people who were there.

Will the 'murderers' stuff ever stop?

Hopefully not! Honestly who gives a shit? It's football and fans will do whatever they can to wind the opposition up. Anyway heysel is fair game considering it was their fault.

There'll be always idiots at the both sides. But to bump this thread in a United fan and only pointing out the cuntishness of some United fans is always going to draw a response.

It's just the whole pretending you're better than it whilst knowingly fuelling it that gets me. I don't really care about morons chanting moronic things, as long as it's generally recognised that this is what it is. I'd rather it stopped obviously, but it honestly doesn't make me angry. There are worse wrongs in the world.

It's the people who cry outrage but turn a blind eye or keep quiet when it isn't convenient to them who make it into a problem. They could either turn a blind eye or address the problem honestly, but they do neither.

feck me, this is like talking to a brick wall.

You just decided to use it to score more points and then went quiet when you were pressed to tell us when you heard it.

You can't accept it, can you? 'We're all gonna have a party when Maggie Thatcher dies', is very different to 'There's only one Maggie Thatcher'. If numerous people were at the game and have said they heard it then I can be quite confident what was chanted.

I've never said I personally heard the chant.

By the way, am I still a lying bastard?

You've missed the point completely, thus making your last line false.

Besides I ask you this, what debate is there to be had? Most of us agree it shouldn't happen, unfortunately those who don't wont care what a handful of people say on the internet and will continue to sing.

What's this point I've missed then?

The debate that you mentioned in your previous post? Or if not a debate, then at least some normal replies without all this 'oh, you're point scoring' shit. We're all adults here.

Accusations? Proof? But you've just admitted yourself that this stuff is chanted.

What I think I heard? Anyone with ears and and a TV could hear 'murderers' blaring out during the game. And the reason behind the bump wasn't just concerning today's game, it's a constant thing that happens every time we play you and has happened even when you're not playing us.

I know there's a memorial, it just seems as if Liverpool FC have gone out of their way to shift the blame onto other people (didn't they blame Chelsea fans or something ridiculous like that?) and then brush it under the carpet. Yeah, there was some blame shifting at the time but there's always been an acceptance of what happened.

Whilst it's nice to think that we might have afforded the deceased Juve fans the same level of remembrance that we do to the Hillsborough victims, it was probably never going to happen.

Because it's a discussion about classless chants and you were trying to tell us that Liverpool fans aren't guilty of it (or at least are more whiter than white or something), which is evidently bullshit.

I don't think racism is a minor issue. Do you?

There is no chant about Evra though.

Where have I said Liverpool fans are whiter than white? please point that out to me? I've already pointed out an example of Liverpool fans being cnuts on youtube. My aggrievance is with the fact that Utd fans, in large numbers, regularly chant this shite. I didn't even mention our fans until some of you said that we're just as bad (in terms of numbers), when in fact the same thing is not replicated within the LFC fan base to the same extent. Again - not saying we're perfect, there are plenty of knobs on both sides but you don't get thousands or even hundreds of us chanting 'Munich' at games. Except for isolated incidents, it doesn't happen, especially on that scale.

Also, booing Patrice Evra is not racism. Did you honestly expect Evra to receive no reaction from Liverpool fans after everything that happened? Talk about being naive. The 'classlessness' involved in the booing of Patrice Evra cannot be compared with the same level of 'classlessness' involved in singing about Heysel. Using the deaths of people to taunt opposition supporters is a shit, shit thing to do. You can taunt us about 19:18 or us being 8th in the table, but why go there with the murderers stuff?

I did say I heard about the Thatcher chant from a second hand source
'The Heysel chants quite audibly continued today, as well as plenty of other shite I've heard from people who were there'
. Is the Thatcher stuff about Heysel? No.

I would have raised the same issue if we'd won.

He'll just do what he's been doing all along and ignore most of this post to focus on the odd thing he can come up with an answer for.

Read back over my posts and point out to me where I've done this please.

I'll never understand who has the problem with Heysel chants? Is it finally preying on Liverpool's conscience what they did?

For the record, United sang about Hillsborough, Liverpool didn't sing about Munich. Certainly not during the game anyway.

Who wants to see these chants in football? Also, why would it prey on my conscience? I wasn't involved. Did you hear this Thatcher stuff?

As for your last point, that's more or less the reason I bumped this thread.

Manchester suffered as much as Liverpool in the Thatcher years. Shades of Tomato is clearly having a meltdown of sorts. I can't quite understand the point he's making.... United fans are...er....bad?

Well in this case it's a scouser who's claiming they are victimised by the naughty United fans. But yeah, it is pretty shit to claim holier-than-thou on this issue.

The people who sings these songs will NEVER stop and it's going to happen every time we play each other, it's a bit pointless to keep arguing about.

feck me, this is like talking to a brick wall.

 Oh the irony.

How can you on the one hand tell me to go back and read your posts, yet you want me to repeat mine?

You lost a game of football, instead of posting on here with your pathetic point scoring (which you are trying to do regardless of how you paint it), why don't you go back to Rawk where you can safely claim we are all evil and your fans are saints?

It'll wash well over there.

Who wants to see these chants in football? Also, why would it prey on my conscience? I wasn't involved. Did you hear this Thatcher stuff?

As for your last point, that's more or less the reason I bumped this thread.

Can't say I'm bothered. Making Liverpool fans feel bad/guilty over something that was entirely their fault doesn't bother me in the slightest. If we'd done what they'd done, I'd be pretty damn ashamed of it, and would hate to be constantly reminded of it.

I didn't hear any Thatcher stuff. What was the tune/words? It wasn't the "One Maggie Thatcher" was it? Don't recall hearing any of that. Besides, as has been pointed out, Mancunians, and most working class folk in general would hate Thatcher too.

I heard one song that came up, but can't for the life of me remember anything about it. It might have even been a Liverpool song.

Also, I was surprised Evra didn't get booed, yet the song had to come out when he fouled someone didn't it? It just sounds so racist.

SOT if you actually went to the games instead of watching TV and twitter feeds perhaps you would realize you are completely wasting your fecking time.

I haven't 'read it', it's come from people who were at the game.

I'm an idiot for asking when this stuff will stop? Jesus Christ.

No you are an idiot for being one.

And you heard this from people who were at the game? You mean those saintly, truth telling and good hearted folk who never lie or sing bad songs themselves?

Yeah right. And I'll repeat your an idiot because if you truly wanted an honest debate on this, you'd have surely written a much better first post. But you didn't, hence the response you've received.

Go drown your sorrows elsewhere.

I don't get all this "point scoring".
