Let me say this much - it is lucky that Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton are so poor. We will never finish under them at least.

Where we are now, with the coming fixtures, it’ll be like playing a game of snakes and ladders trying to climb out of the bottom half of the table.
For every win, we’ll lose or draw another, while other teams around us will be doing the same.
Any movement upwards in the table, will be followed by movement down again.
If any of those other teams manage to string a few wins together, it makes it even harder for us to climb up the table.

It’ll take a run of 3 or 4 wins in the New Year, to stand any chance of pulling away.
Otherwise we are ending up no higher than 10th or 11th at best.

Unless it can be turned around, we’re on course for 45 to 50 points max.

When we didn't improve on a first XI that was lucky to finish 8th last season it was all entirely predictable that we would likely do worse.

The cup win really messed with people's logic.

I would say with 90% certainty we will lose the next 3 games with Newcastle, Liverpool and Arsenal to come.

Where does that leave us? Could be fecking anywhere

Midtable, anything above that should be seen as progress or something.

I voted 6th at the start of the season thinking that was a worst case scenario. That would feel like a good finish now. Madness

With the way we are playing it’s a very real possibility that we will be in a relegation battle. Some will laugh this off, but I just can’t see where the goals are going to come from to win enough games to finish mid table.

Completely agree that it is a possibility. We have a mid-table squad that is bereft of confidence. This can end badly.

Before the start of the season i predicted 7th. Looks like i was way too optimistic. And as i don't see any chance to sign some real quality players in January i say 8-9th.

I can’t really see how we’re going to turn it round and finish even above 8th unless we make some changes in January.

The only positive to point out is that the table between 5th and where we are in 14th has a difference of just 7 points. Even a couple of back to back wins post-Jan window could see us climb rapidly to a slightly less embarrassing position.

Also, the seasons gone. I don’t really care where we finish now, but I just hope we improve to the point where we’re not worrying about fecking Everton, Palace and Leicester winning

Its impossible to predict at this moment because we are in a dire situation due to recent results and if we lose to Newcastle and Liverpool we could find ourselves only 2 points above the relegation zone with our next game after that being Southampton at home.

I hardly feel like Nostradamus. We were 15th on the xG table last season (ended on 44 expected points ) and had yet another unexciting summer window.
Apart from Zirkzee, I thought at the time and I still do regardless of the current gloomy position in the table that it was a best summer window for a number of years.

All the players we signed were of a good age profile so we may look back in a few years and think it was an excellent window.

It's still one of the better transfer windows.

Just imagine the centreback with the highest potential Yoro joined, together with De Ligt, the one who lights things up.

Then there is the best wingback from the German league, Mazra and the best DM from french league, Ugarte.

Then Zirkzee isn't that bad in the no 10 role.

What an amazing window.
