What is Luis Suarez worth?

He's looked God awful in the last two/three games. At times I was wishing the ball wouldn't drop to him, or get a pass. Its like he's switched from world's best to worse than Aspas in the matter of weeks.

Who, Suarez? Wouldn't go as far as God awful, he was pretty dangerous against Palace and managed to get a goal. He was quiet against Chelsea though. I didn't watch the Liverpool-Newcastle game so I don't know how he did today.

Nah, he's just cream crackered. Should have a terrible world cup and come back early. Hopefully.

The Palace game he was visibly sick and he still gave more than anyone else on the pitch.

As soon as he gets together with his South America brothers @ the WC, speaks in his mother tongue and acclimatises to the weather, he will be itching for Spain.

Aye. That could well be Suarez last game in a Liverpool shirt. The summer will be interesting.

47% of his goals came against the bottom 4 apparently.
That's an incredible stat which makes me think whether he has been the best footballer in Premier League this season or not.

I think he's worth 45-50M but when Bale goes for a 100M, he'll go for at least 70M. If he goes that is.

See, this is why he's going nowhere. I think these big clubs have ridiculous Wenger-esque thinking like this.

You forgot to add the "...and £1" to your valuation with the anticipated "what are you smoking and you can f**k off" comment from John Henry imminent.

I couldn't give a flying feck about if he leaves or not, that's all he's worth IMO. If you think he's worth more than 75M if not for the crazy market of these days, I honestly don't know what to say.

You can tell me to f**k off just like John Henry will tell you to f**k off with your "IMO". The only key factor here being John Henry holds the Suarez card and you don't. :)

Why'd I ask John whoever to sell someone that I don't care about? I repeat - I was just saying my thoughts on what Suarez's worth, not what he's up to this summer or what money he's leaving for should he move at all.

Wow. And zero against the top 4.

Cue Florentino Perez making public statements like "Suarez is born to play for Real Madrid" and lectures Liverpool that they should sell him.

I'm certain about half of that 47% came against Norwich.

To be fair he'd be devastating for Madrid, can easily see him tally up Ronaldo/Messi/Costa figures in La Liga.

An attack consisting of him, Ronaldo, Di Maria and Bale would basically be cheating....and they'd also probably be the most cheating line up too.

Just saw this on Facebook

Well-connected Uruguayan journalist Martin Charquero reporting Luis Suárez will have meniscus procedure tomorrow, should be ready for WC

Trusted South American football journalist Martin Charquero has reported in the last hour that Luis Suarez is to undergo surgery to solve a problematic meniscus in his knee.

Suarez complained of discomfort during a routine training session with the Uruguay national team and was immediately sent for an MRI scan. The scan revealed an issue with the meniscus and Suarez is to undergo surgery as soon as possible.

The extent of the issue isn't fully known and won't be until the meniscus can be properly inspected, there's hope that Suarez will simply need a clean-up of the meniscus and not a full repair.

Journalist Charquero also says he has received confirmation of Suarez's injury from his brother, Paolo.

Uruguay are confident that he will be fit to play in the World Cup

'Clean up' sounds like they're just going to clip it off because he obviously doesn't want to miss the world cup. Isn't that bad for him long term though?

Would love him to miss the World Cup. It'll be a better competion without dirty cheating scumbags like him.

He's being racist but covering his mouth so you can't lip-read.

I've had meniscus problems and it isn't crucial to the function and the power of the knee. He should be fine, depending on the extent of the 'damage' and how much further risk he wants to put on his body. Would be poetic though, acts the cnut for two seasons straight, slammed to the wall by the authorities and journos, continues tradition but is ignored and has arse licked, out of the world cup. Karma.

Yes it is. Meniscus is like the inter-vertebral disc, provides a cushioning effect to the joint. A healthy meniscus, a healthy knee.

So half against 4 of the worst teams? It reminds me when Berba got his PL golden boot.

It's 16/31 against bottom five, so 52% of his goals against the 5 weakest teams in the league.

I'm surprised not more is made of this, as his scoring record is being used so strongly to enforce his position as 'one of the best in the world'.

And didn't score against top 4, and not tested in European competition (last season). But hey, PL is the best league in the world, you know :D

Agree with this.

I read an article that looked at how the premier league would have finished if you only took into account English goal scorers:

What surprised me the most is that Liverpool are only 2 points off their actual total. So if you took away Suarez's 31 goals, they would only be 2 points worse off - which is crazy!

Combined with the fact that over half of his goals were scored against the worst 5 teams in the league, then it casts his season in a different light, in my opinion.

No, he didn't just earn us two points. In the table it takes out everyone's foreign goals which completely skews what you are saying.

He probably thought how the hell can Real have someone as bad as Benzema leading their line.

I wonder what Suarez thought of tonight's result.

He's probably thinking why didn't those cnuts, or any cnuts, buy me last summer for £60m when FSG would have sold at that price.

Why, why, why, why, why the feck why? :D And I'll throw in a :wenger:

Real will make a statement signing after winning La Decima. Wonder who it could be?
