What is Luis Suarez worth?

Even if he doesn't score another goal against Newcastle he must have the best goal:game ratio of a golden boot winner? And the number of assists must be up there as well. He is the best striker in the world and if Real don't win the league or CL I think they may be tempted. A front three of Bale, Ronaldo and Suarez would surely be unstoppable. Can't see it happening though.

No he's not.

Their issue has been losing points against the top 4 sides, I am undecided whether or not Suarez will be the right player for them to turn that around. Either he will be a huge success or an equally big failure as the competition is rough.

He doesn't add much ability to break down organized defenses nor is he world-class at winning the ball back. Will he allow Bale and Ronaldo to shine?

I'm convinced he's going nowhere and I can't see madrid breaking the record fee twice in consecutive summers. No way pool sell him for leSs than what bale went for. Personally I hope he stays, he's a special footballer and the league could use a few of those with so many rushing to la liga. Been an amazing season for him. 31 goals in a league season without pens and a 5 game suspention is absurd really. Plus his assists are also up there.

Surprised there hasn't been a mention of Chelsea as a potential location. They obviously need a striker and would be willing to pay whatever sum necessary for one of his calibre.

Now why would pool sell their direct competitor their best player?

The biter has to be worth at least 40M. Thats the lowest reasonable price. Livershit would do well to flog him for 50 or more. Easily better than Bale.

Am I the only one that's convinced that united fans are losing it? Please explain what's so reasonable about selling suarez for 40 mill? And why would they do well to flog him for more than 50?

40M is the lowest they can sell him within reason in my opinion but he's def worth more than that in today's market. I said if Liverpool can get anything over 50 for him it will be excellent business. Whats your valuation?

He's priceless.
Sold their second best player to them a few years back - after receiving a ridiculous offer.

Yes, but they made sure to run Torres into the ground so that he lost his speed after constantly coming back early from injuries.

Thankfully they wasted most of the money on Andy Carroll.

He should easily be worth more than 60m IMHO. Other parameters like age and marketability play a role in increasing/decreasing a transfer fee.

I think in all honesty if Real really want him and Liverpool stand firm, the price could be very similar to what Bale went for.

Not sure about that, Bale is more 'marketable' (urgh, I hate using that phrase in football, but it's true) and younger. I think something around 70M for Suarez would be reasonable and a great return for Liverpool.

I still think he's ridiculously overrated.

I'm not saying he's shit, but he's nowhere near as good as is being made out. He's a flat track bully. A very good one, but still a flat track bully. He pretty much always goes missing against top teams. A move to Madrid would suit him perfectly, there's only 2 teams for him to hide from.

Torres was clearly not the player he had been in the past and pool as a club were in decline. Atm there's nothing chelsea can offer suarez that pool can't. They'd need suarez himself to force the move but there's clearly no reason for him to do so.

Yes, the circumstances are exactly the same...

Best player against City, assisted in the win over them too, was brilliant when we tonked Arse too. He's been kept quiet against Chelsea and once against Arsenal. In the other games he's either set up a goal or put in a brilliant individual performance only for his team to let him down.

Great talent, worth a lot of £'s. However, even in this fickle world of football he would attract a biters discount.

Why would he try to force a move from pool to chelsea? That's about as sideways a move you can get.

Sideways move? I tend to disagree there. Potentially moving to a team that made it to semi-finals of champions league and were in the title race, and have won it more frequently than Liverpool in recent years. With a decent striker this term they probably would have won the league with a bit of a buffer as well.

To me, I don't think it's a sideways move.

He won't go for less than £70m and even then I'd say it'll be closer to £100m.

31 goals this season. Jesus. And he missed the first eight games didn't he? That's some Ronaldo-Messi level return

Top goal scorer. Top of the assist charts. Doesn't take penalties. Missed 5 league games.
